We tried the Cucumber vodka, gin, and Maple whiskey and had the Hot Chocolate Martini made with their cocoa vodka... So delicious!! Definitely great place for a few drinks. The upstairs seating is nice... I wished they have board games or cards upstairs so we can spend more time here. Great place, definitely worth a visit! We stopped in before our reservation at Harpoon and bought some cocktails to go. I got the cocoa vodka with mulled apple cider and my friend got the maple whisky and lemonade. Excellent choices! They have numerous varietals to buy plus even premade cocktails in two sizes to buy for gifts or your own consumption. Lots of other VT local products, too, like bourbon barrel maple syrup and sriracha maple sauce. It's a great with friendly staff. I wish it wasn't COVID and we could have done a tasting, but totally understand the precautions and why it's the law right now that we cannot. Better safe than sorry. read more

Really cool spot that right's opposite the Harpoon Brewery in Windsor, VT. Love the feel and the ambiance as soon as you walk inside. Must check out the upstairs section and the comfy seating there for sure. All the drink concoctions are really good. Loved the mulled cider which was amazing even though I don't really drink cider that much. Also got the winter mule and the vodka pomegranate prosecco drink which were pretty good. Jaime was amazing, personable and ended up having a great chat with her. Live music on sundays from 1-3pm with a bloody mary bar. Overall great experience, would def recommend coming here if in the area. read more

While up in Vermont for Thanksgiving, the boy and I decided to take our standard trip to Harpoon Brewery (after all, it's a stone's throw from his parents' house... and it's become tradition). Well, imagine our surprise and delight when we discovered a new vodka distillery across from Harpoon! We knew we couldn't leave without checking it out, so after our lunch and beer flight, we popped into Silo. Silo's been open for less than a year, and it was founded by Vermonters. They currently sell vodka, gin, and whiskey, and they're working on bourbon as well as some infused vodkas. When we stopped in, we were given a tasting of the different spirits, and I was floored by how smooth and delicious both the vodka and gin were. My fiancé also tried the bourbon and whiskey, which he said were top-notch, but I'm not a fan of those spirits so I just took his word for it. The liquors reminded me a tad of the Tru Organic brand, of which I'm a huge fan. Cocktails are also available by the glass, and their martini menu looked pretty enticing, but we were on a small time crunch so we opted to purchase bottles instead. We also received a behind the scenes look at the distilling equipment and got to hear the back story of the business. I can't describe the beauty of the copper equipment and the building's wooden interior - the smell of fresh wood was also incredible. There's an upstairs area perfect for small events and dinners. I believe it can be rented out, as the distiller mentioned hosting events in the space. If we lived up in Vermont, I could definitely see this as a prime spot for a small gathering. Currently, Silo's liquor is only available through Vermont liquor stores and from the distillery itself. It's a small operation that I hope continues to make a name for itself while hanging on to it's Vermont roots. I can promise this will be a new stop on our must-see list while in town in the future. read more

This is one of my favorite spots for a specialty cocktails. They take full advantage of their knowledge of their spirits to concoct some of the best cocktails. Love their cucumber vodka and their lavender vodka. Their maple whiskey is oh so tasty. On many Sunday afternoons, live music!! In fact I love this place so much that I held my birthday party there. SILO is a relatively new distillery in Windsor, VT. They make a wide variety of liquor, including vodka (many flavors too), whiskey, gin, bourbon, and even some moonshine. I stopped in recently to check it out and had a great time. First off: tastings are free. They're really informal and they just give you enough to experience the flavor, but it's really nice to not have to pay $15 to find out if you like something. The woman who was working was so gracious and friendly - my dad and I lingered at the bar for a while just chatting with her. It was really cool to hear about their locally sourced ingredients and partnerships with local businesses. The space is also REALLY nice. It's a beautiful barn (hence SILO!) with a huge production facility and a whole big upstairs area. I would definitely come to an event here! I will say that their bottles are quite pricy, but you can also just get a cocktail for $10. Definitely stop in if you're in the area! read more

I stopped in here a couple of months ago when I was checking out the area and I was absolutely blown away. The second you walk into the distillery, the smell of the pine immediately hits creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The bar was immaculate and as we walked in the owner was cleaning the bar, which is a great sign. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the lovely owner. She immediately started talking about the distilling process and I could feel the passion she had for distilling. We both tried the whiskey​ and ​maple whiskey. The whiskey and the maple were incredible. The whiskey was strong but smooth and warming. This was by far the best whiskey I have ever tasted. The maple was also smooth and the maple flavor was subtle yet delicious. Overall, the experience was incredible. The owner is the sweetest and most inviting person, the barn is a lovely atmosphere, and the liquor is delicious. Thankfully, I travel back to the east coast a couple of​ times a year because I cannot live without their delicious whiskey! read more

Not really our thing, we enjoyed Harpoon Brewery across the street a LOT more. There's a small outdoor seating area where you can sit and enjoy a cocktail. I guess for a distillery and for tastings, I was expecting some more reasonable prices, but cocktails were all $10, which is pricey not only for location but also for what you are getting (in my personal opinion). We were hoping to spending half our afternoon here after spending the first part at Harpoon, but ended up leaving after about 20 minutes and 1 drink. They don't offer tastings, and you have to buy a cocktail. read more

Silo has a great selection of spirits to taste at this location. The staff was friendly and informative and the quaint little bar area was pleasant to be in. I didn't try any of their cocktails but I had samples of their lavender, lemon, cucumber, and cacao vodka, as well as the gin, reserve gin, and the whiskey. The flavored vodkas were very interesting and I would encourage everyone to try any flavor they might like. The lemon is pretty standard, and in my opinion so is the cucumber, but others have said that they were surprised just how much it tasted like cucumber. The cacao is the newest that they've just launched and I have to say on the first try it did not taste good to me. I tried it again, however, at a tasting at pearl st beverage in Burlington, and on the second go I somehow found the complexities that I didn't before. The cacao isn't at all like a chocolate flavored vodka, so it doesn't have much sweetness. It's hard to explain, but it's definitely worth trying and I can imagine that it would be a great component in any number of concoctions. The lavender vodka stands out. If you've ever experienced lavender essential oil, it's basically how I would imagine that rotate if it tasted good. The lavender hits you pretty hard at the same time as that classic alcohol taste hits you, and together it's pretty intense. I loved it and so did the people I was with. The gin was good, nothing outstanding, but the reserve gin was excellent. The distillery is next to several other fun shops: harpoon brewery, a cheese/maple/wine shop, a kitchen tool store with info about vegetables, and a newly opened shop with lots of preserves. I'd highly recommend stopping by in your spare time. read more

I got a 4 pack of the semi-dry cider and it possibly the worst alcoholic beverage I have ever purchased. It's less than 2 months since it was canned. It's watery with a taste of vinegar and barely tastes of apple cider. It's pretty much undrinkable. I like all sorts of ultra hoppy IPAs and craft beers. I've also tried my air share of local and national distributed hard ciders and this takes the cake for worst cider ever. I'd have been better off getting an angry orchard semi-dry. Smdh read more

We had a voucher from our B & B for two free drinks so after climbing Mt Ascutney we decided we had earned a cocktail. So happy we went! The owner's wife was our mixologist and in addition to being extremely friendly, she was very skilled at mixing drinks. My wife had a lavender libation (essentially a Tom Collins topped with champagne) and I had an old fashioned which we both thoroughly enjoyed. We also purchased a bottle of their lavender flavored vodka. Check them out if you come through Windsor; Harpoon Brewery is right across the parking lot so you can kill two birds with one stone. read more

We stumbled upon this place on our way to Stowe Vermont after taking a quick stop off I-91. The building is newer and beautifully designed. We were impressed on how clean and meticulously tidy the tasting room was. One of the owner's, Anne Marie Delaney, warmly greeted us and offered a sample of our choice (Lavender Vodka). After commenting on how the lavender notes bloomed on the palate she smiled and warmly invited us to sit down and try more of their spirits. She was so attentive to our tasting experience and explained each spirit we tried with great enthusiasm and knowledge. Anne spent at least 20 minutes with us and it was evident how deeply passionate she is about her business and the pride the company has exclusively using local Vermont ingredients from local farmers and businesses. Our tasting was free, which could have been ~$15 per person based on other distilleries we have visited. Below are our thoughts about the spirits we sampled. SILO is a great distillery deeply passionate about their products, collaborations with local businesses, and commitment to customers. We hope to be back again very soon to try their gin! Vodka -Lavender = Delicious and delicate with lavender nose that blooms. Great by itself or in a mixed drink. -Cocao = So unique and tasty. Great after dinner cocktail. Embodies dark chocolate notes without any bitterness or acidity. -Cucumber = Cool and fresh flavor without being overwhelming. Perfect for a summer libation. Whiskey -Whiskey = True to form whiskey full of warm spice flavor. -Bourbon = Warm and (not too) sweet. -Maple bourbon = Amazing flavor, rich and sensual maple notes while preserving bourbon profile. -Aisling = One of the most unique (it is limited edition) we had the pleasure of trying. Holy crap this place is awesome! First of all, the entire Artisan Park is super cool and I can't wait to go back and spend the entire day there. Second, SILO is a must-see if you're in that park, or if you are a human aged 21 that drinks, because it's just so cool. You can't go into the distillery area itself, obviously, but you can see into as it's all going on. And I don't mean a little window. I mean you can see the operation. We stayed at the Snap Dragon Inn and was given a free drink coupon for 2. After a day exoloribg the area and a climb up Mt. Ascutney, we needed some libations. Drinks were incredible and prepared by the owners wife. The Lavender Libation was so smooth and delicious. So good that I purchased the Lavender Vodka. My husband had the Old Fashioned and enjoyed the Maple Whiskey. Great place for drinks and love that they use all local ingredients. Silo crafts its own vodka using local Vermont grains. The newly built barn inspired building has an observation window, when you can see the crafters at work, a tasting bar & tables. The tasting room displays works from local artists and has a section when you can purchase jars Silo Vodka infused fruit, t-shirts, and other items. The staff is warm and inviting and are eager to tell you about the vodka and their operations. We tried the chilled vodka and it was very smooth reminding me of many of the high end well-known brands (even better than some). If you're in the area, definitely stop by and visit. read more

I attended a Paint Night event at SILO on a recent Friday night. It was so much fun! The painting class was a lot easier than I expected and I was extremely impressed by the distillery. I have never been a "spirits" drinker, however everything I tried I liked! Their barrel aged whiskey is incredible. The distillery also recently released a cucumber vodka that is out of this world. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The environment was very welcoming. I highly recommend you check SILO out! read more

When I walked in with my service animal they questioned if he really was a service dog, even though he had a jacket on. Then there was some grumbling about some people lying about their animals. We hosted a private function at SILO Distillery for 75 people, and it went off without a hitch. Attended by many locals and some from out of state, everyone agreed that the venue was fantastic. In the evening, then the venue is lit mostly by candlelight, the space feels like a warm and welcoming large rustic cabin with the beautiful wooden walls and ceilings. It was the perfect venue for our group with a private area upstairs that overlooks the lower level, giving it an open and airy feel when guests are spread throughout. Guests could tour the distillery while also enjoying the cocktails made from SILO's very own spirits and the owner's were incredibly accommodating and were sure to meet all of our special requests. This venue is truly unique to the Upper Valley and is a venue that is sure to impress your guests! read more
