This was an average meal nothing to brag about nothing bad.... the hash browns could have been crisper, the cheese on my stake sandwich could have actually covered the meat. It was also dry. The drinks (Diet Coke) could have actually had Lemons places in them rather than needed to ask our waitress several times. It is a little small for how good the food is and the company at the bar is both social and wonderful to talk to. It is a large bar and good luck getting a seat as many people are aware of how good the food and coffee are. Breakfast is both hearty and tasty with large servings, I loved that stayed open through most of Covid. read more

This place is yummy, simple comfort food. It's nothing out of this world good but it reminds me of something my Grandma would make. The scones are delicious, the honey butter that comes with them makes them perfect. My least favorite part about this place is when it's super busy people just wait for a table and will hurry over to a table to get it even if you were there before them. Sill's has the best scones I've ever had in my life! I was so glad that my boyfriend took me here for our first date and it is now a staple of must go to places whenever we're in Layton. They have different options for food and even offer lunch and dinner choices. If you ever go during the weekend, I'd advise you go later on in the morning as the lines can get very long (most times, it goes out the door). Not a huge fan of the blob of cheese they put on their eggs, but that's mostly what I don't like. Friendly servers make sure you're well taken care of even though they're slammed is a very nice complement. Overall, Sill's will be a go to breakfast place for us every time we're in Layton. Prices and food portions can't be beat! We hope they'd expand, but this cozy place is a must visit! read more

This is Laytons one and only local diner but it's better than the diners other surrounding cities have for sure. The portions are huge, the food is delicious, the waitresses are always friendly and it's fairly inexpensive. It's like the jackpot of diners! Went in one late afternoon and it was kind of awkward at first. No one greeted us or asked us anything so we just stood there not sure what to do since it was our first time there. Then a waitress said sit anywhere that's open, it was crowded but we found a table then was told not that table...smh...another waitress was cleaning a table and told us sit there. Waitresses with friendly smiles greeted us at the table and the girl checking us out was really friendly also. I ordered eggs and sausage plate. The sausage patties are huge and delicious! Eggs cooked to perfection over easy. My meal also came with a huge scone and hash browns . All that for 8 bucks! I was in disbelief! Been coming here since early 70's. That was the original place on Main Street. New location is old Pizza Hut taken over in 2009. Decided to have breakfast here with the wife. This is one of those classic places that's been around since the 50's. It's always packed and hard to justify coming to since it's so busy. Well there are places that are worth the wait!!! At the door was a good crowd waiting for tables. Surprised that in less than 10 minutes we had a table. Now this is where this place excels. Waitress was on it and we had our order placed. The special here is SCONES!!! I am talking dinner plate sized scones with every order. They have a huge mound of honey butter melting on top. We had ours within minutes of placing our order. If you can eat 1/2 of this deep fried wonder before you breakfast is delivered your doing very good. My order was scrambled eggs, ham and hash browns. Most places would give you a small dry piece of ham. This came with 2 large thick pieces that were grilled and very delicious! Eggs old fashioned grill rolled. Hash browns were ok but kinda grew on me. Wife had sloppy eggs and bacon. Bacon was thick large and with 4 slices .... bacon heaven! So if your wondering if you want this breakfast you need this. It's done right, huge order, fast with great service and when you leave it will be around mid afternoon before you dare eat anything again. There is a reason they have been doing this for more than 60 years! This is "The" breakfast place. Based on the number of people coming to eat here it's not a secret. Come here and be happy!
