The vibe of this diner is super super cute! I struggled with the star rating on this one. I bounced between a 3 and 4 star on this one but landed on a 3. We were seated quickly but ended up sitting nearly 10 minutes waiting for a waitress which was a bit off putting. It wasn't overly packed so not sure what was up with that. Another bummer was the mini juke box on the tables were broken. Would be really fun if they worked! Hopefully they look into getting those working. The food thankfully came out quickly once we ordered and it was overall pretty good. I ordered the biscuits and gravy and the gravy was pretty yummy and the biscuits had a nice texture. The waitress was really nice and recommended the strawberry shortcake. It was just ok, the cake was a tad dense. Not her fault. If you do anything TRY THE PIE!! They have Apple caramel, blueberry and cherry pie as staples but rotate a pie of the day. I thought I'd be getting a slice of pie but I was pleasantly surprised when they brought out a mini pie!!! They're big enough to share but you won't want to. We couldn't help but try a couple of their other desserts like the chocolate milkshake and ice cream swirl cone. The chocolate milkshake was the perfect level of thick and it was served in an old school glass which made whole thing feel so nostalgic. If we had room for anything else we would've tried the cake of the day. For lunch we had focaccia for an appetizer then the meatloaf sandwich, Belgium waffle, off their all day breakfast menu and the kids chicken tenders. Everything came with its own side. We also got an apple pie, chocolate milkshake and ice cream swirl cone plus some drinks. Everything came out to $90~ and which I thought was a really great price considering how much food we got. You'll love the old school diner interior like the checkerboard floor and retro red booths. They have a dog friendly patio that is well shaded and stocked with water and waste bags. The waitress brought our fresh ice water for my dog as soon as we sat down. The entire staff was super friendly and attentive. Great place to stop after spending the day up in the Uintah's. Quintessential small town, locals diner feel. There were definitely out of towners as well. We waited about 10 minutes just to be seated, which was fine, but once we sat down, it took another 5-10 minutes before a server even acknowledged us. The Oakley diner was a lot of fun. The atmosphere is of an 60s style diner. The atmosphere is the coolest part of the experience. I got the all-American burger, which was delicious, it reminded me of an In-N-Out double double. Someone else in our group got the Belgian waffle which looked like they didn't put enough batter in it. It felt like we ordered the food and it arrived within five minutes for a group of five. I was surprised how fast they got everything out. One thing that was really cool that I loved is you can have them split your milkshake in half to share with someone else. Run! Don't walk to this most adorable, step back in time diner!! I loved this!! It has so much history!! It was so clean and authentic. I posted a picture of the history. Very interesting! We had a rain day and could not ski so we hopped in the car for a little drive just to eat here. I saw it advertised in the magazine DishingPC. It was about a 30 minute drive from the base of Cannons. This is located way off the beaten path but worth the drive. This is also super close to Rancho Luna Lobos, dog sledding, but that's a separate review. I had been craving corned beef for breakfast and they had it. We both had the corned beef hash. Omgosh! Loved it!! So so yummy. And a large portion also! They offer 3 different breads. We went with the sour dough that was fresh baked in their bakery around the back of the diner. They also have fresh brewed ice tea. Our waitress Abby was awesome!!! She was very attentive and so sweet. They have the old dashing jukebox on the table. The diner had undergone a major renovation and it is absolutely beautiful. They have a book showing the stages of the train car. Ask to see it if not offered. It was very interesting. As residents of a cabin up the canyon, we have been anxiously waiting for this diner to open. We were bummed out about Road Island diner closing. We actually went in with low expectations so we weren't disappointed. I will say that it's diner food, but a little more pricey than normal. We came at 2:30 in hopes to beat the crowds, we sat within 5 minutes, staff is friendly. We sat in the back which has a slight "cold" feeling. Food arrived quickly. We decided on the Messy burger, BLT, Fish n chips, and the all American burger. Messy burger - the burgers are on the smaller side, which is why a double patty is a must. The mushroom gravy was actually delicious, and the bun held up nicely. Great little burger. 4/5 The pork belly blt- the pork belly was sweet, almost candied, a good portion, crispy on the inside, soft middle. Pork belly just doesn't have the flavor of bacon. After eating this I would prefer some thick crispy bacon instead. The sandwich was dry. It needs some more spread, possible garlic aioli? 3/5 Fish n chips - were decent. My kids liked them, but maybe a little too crispy, and not enough fish, to much batter to fish ratio. 3.5/5 The sweet potato fries were everyone's favorite! Get them! All American burger - added caramelized onion and mushrooms. They don't ask you how you want your burger cooked. They smash the meat on a flat top, leaving you a crispy salty crust. It's a good thing they are doubles, because the meat is thin. I loved the burger. The only downfall was they gave me very little mushroom and onion, if I'm paying extra, I'd like extra. Also, they left off the lettuce and tomato, which I did not request. 4/5 We want to come back and try the breakfast. One thing I will add, is that I miss how Road Island had pies and treats in the glass case when you walked in, and you were like, I'm definitely saving room for pie!! I want that back!! read more

I can't believe I have never stopped to eat at the Oakley diner. I love small town burger places. Came up here for July 4. I was not going to the rodeo but stopped here to get something to eat. It was busy, but the line moved quickly, and the food came out relatively fast. You can either order outside or dine inside, which is great. It was a nice night so decided to sit outside on the patio. I got the bacon cheeseburger and fries which were both absolutely delicious and hot. They have a nice large outdoor patio area, a large grass area, and lots of parking. The staff were friendly the food came out hot and fresh. So my wife and I were out working on our property in Oakley. Hot and tired we headed to the diner for a milkshake. Walked in, sat at the counter and were completely ignored. There was a waitress standing two feet away who was obviously done with her shift as she was counting money to cash out. Directly in front of us was a young lady polishing silverware. We sat there for over five minutes with neither staff member even acknowledging our existence. The one waitress that appeared to be working the floor was to busy to even come over and offer water. Some basic training in courtesy and customer service is sorely needed. A simple "hello" goes a long way. read more

First thing is plenty of parking! And easy to get in and get sat. They have gluten free options which is nice for a little place like this. The fish and chips were incredible. I love how the fish was in strips like in the picture cause then it wasn't oversaturated with oil and easy to eat with braces. That tartar sauce though..... upon first glance I knew it would knock my socks off and it did! Perfect balance of tangy and sweet and silly and Mayo. I licked that cup clean. Super delicious. We usually love this place. Haven't been since the remodel so we were excited to get breakfast this morning. We got our order to go because we were headed up the canyon to our cabin. For the price, I would have loved it to have been seasoned at all. Three cheese omelet with hashbrowns were bland and rubbery (it was approximately 8 minutes between picking up the order and eating it). But that wasn't what is making this a one star rating. The menu has the three cheese omelet and hashbrowns labeled as Gluten Free. When GF toast was selected in the online order, the checkbox for "allergy" was also selected. It shows on the receipt that there was an allergy with that item. Unfortunately, they didn't do any of their due diligence in making sure that an item labeled Gluten Free was actually gluten free and I spent the next five hours recovering from a life-threatening celiac episode (gluten exposure). read more

The Oakley Diner is a nice restaurant, the service is good and the food was also good. The 3 star rating is because of the flies in the restaurant, I have less flies in my horse barn. We had at least 15 to 20 flies at our table alone swarming the entire meal, and our granddaughter had to get a new fork, because a fly got stuck on her fork in the syrup. If the dining room is that heavy with flies, one can only imagine the kitchen. With the prices they charge for meals, they can afford to do some fly abatement! read more

Let me say this is a Gem full of old school Ambiance in the middle of literally nowhere. A staple for the locals I'm sure. We almost blew past this. But my friend who was driving caught it in the corner of his eye, and stated hey I always wanted to eat there. He knew the area somewhat. So we turned around and had lunch. Greeted and seated instantly as we walked in. We ordered our Food. Mike had Fish &Chips with a salad instead of chips . I had the Club Sandwich and Side Salad (see pic). 1st, Our waitress "Grace" was beyond excellent and was an absolute joy to have serving us. 2nd, The Food was served quickly and was just delicious and huge. Was very disappointed when the Rhode Island diner closed its doors. Heard it was finally sold and would reopen which was great news. We stopped by for dinner , Prime Rib, mashed potatoes and asparagus. It certainly did not disappoint . Stopped in again for breakfast. I had cowboy Benedict and hubby had smoked salmon Benedict. We visited the diner on July 4th. Nothing good to say about this place. First thing I see on the menu is meatloaf for $25.00 side of mash potatoes $7.50 Steak $29.00 burgers $18.00. Way overpriced for what you receive. Service was horrible. Halfway through our dinner we had to flag someone down and ask for our drinks. The did provide warm glasses of water with no ice at all.
