Way underrated on yelp. Great stop after a day of hiking - nice patio, fresh food, variety on the menu, decent prices.

But the service was awful! We walked in around 2 or so for lunch on a Monday. It was crowded. Several staff walked past us waiting at the counter for a seat and didn't say a peep to us. Finally a woman appeared and said she'd be with us shortly. She came back and when it asked if we could sit on the patio she told me it was closed because in the morning it had been cold. It was in the 70's at 2pm?! She sat us at a table next to a support beam and it felt very tight. Chairs were not very comfortable and the table was wobbly. It was very warm in the restaurant and very loud. We sat for 15-20 minute without a single person acknowledging us. I was about to get up and leave when finally a waitress came for our order. My husband enjoyed his Back 40 burger commenting on how juicy it was but expected more flavor. I ordered a Garden salad which was really good. Carrots were huge, tomatoes were yummy and like I said earlier the greens were so crisp and so fresh. My daughter had the chicken tenders and seriously the chicken was so tender and tasted fresh unlike grocery store chicken. The views are amazing!

At the risk of sounding like everyone else (eg "I've driven by a hundred times, finally decided to…read morestop in, wish I had tried it years ago, and so on") I have to report that, um... I have driven by at least a hundred times and finally decided to stop in on a solo trip the other day. Make no mistake, this is a roadhouse pub. The stickers all over the door, the fact that you walk right into the pool table section, and the roadhouse vibe of the decor and several tables along with the big bar. It's not fancy, it's also not decorated to intentionally look like a roadhouse that's not fancy. It's just exactly what it is. It was a lovely summer day so I sat outside. They have a back patio and I did notice that they have a brand new rooftop/deck. The server told me that they only open the deck on the weekends, usually Thursday thru Sunday, when they have enough demand for it. I got the GOAT burger with onion rings. At $19 for the burger and $2 charge for the rings, they're not exactly giving it away. But you're in beef country up here in Kamas (Samak, technically) where the cattle roam up the highway, so you cannot show up with Sysco patties. Nope, these re real beef, really hand-formed, and really fresh. The beef really sings and speaks for itself, but the addition of fresh cut chiles and smooth goat cheese was a really unexpected pleasure. The onion rings were crispy and it all disappeared in a post-hike haze. The service was super friendly. I was a little worried all this time that it was a locals-only type watering hole but they were plenty welcoming to me. I can't say how the drinks or bartender were since that's not my scene, but everything was super quick and hospitable, though I was there at a very not busy in between meals time. It may be that this place sits between two worlds of tourists and locals. I don't think the local scene can support this, as the surrounding population is sparse. It's certainly not going to buy that new deck. But it's also not some tourist trap. It sits in the middle; the food is too good (and priced) for a larger audience, but the day to day probably sees plenty of locals as well as MLH drivers popping in.

We also tried the burrata salad. It was an infusion of flavors that included a pecan pesto that was delightful. I had the seafood soup with clam, salmon and bacon. It was good. For the mains, my wife tried the bison with polenta, mole, carrots and an avocado cream. It was tender and the flavors were good. My wife didn't love the mole sauce though. The birria ramen was excellent. I liked the flavor of the consommé in the broth and the birria meat was perfect. It also came with a little quesadilla or cheese taco, which was a nice touch. I recommend the cookie skillet with ice cream as well. Our server, Melissa, is as super helpful and attentive. The inside was cozy and well appointed.

We called in to check and the hostess kindly updated the reservation to include them and adjust our reserved table. This place is pretty big, and it was packed when we came! There is a large bar area and different seating options; we sat at a large booth which was perfect for our group. We expected we'd be waiting a while, but the service was fast and the kitchen and bar were shockingly quick with drinks and food alike. The staff here were very nice and friendly. We were 4 adults and 4 children and it was very family-friendly with coloring sheets, great kids drink options (including mocktails) and meals as well as kid-friendly desserts (dirt cup being the most popular at our table, but sorbet and ice cream selection was also good). The adult cocktails here were great, and the food was delicious. My tuna was flavorful and cooked to perfection, but that was the remark from everyone.. we all really enjoyed our meals and were pleasantly surprised by how great the overall experience was, especially given how full the restaurant was. We will definitely be recommending this restaurant, and returning to this spot on a future trip.

The restaurant is further Park City and Kamas than I expected even having checked on the map before driving, just FYI for those thinking this is near PC. BUT as a local Parkite, I did see people I know also dining there for their Sunday Brunch. We had made a reservation, but I guess if you only do it 1 day in advance it's not on the paper they print out, so they weren't prepared for us. And I don't know if they were shorthanded at 4 staff members on the floor (1 was the owner, 2 were waitresses, 1 was a busser), but we waited about 15 minutes to be seated. Despite this, they were all very kind and had good costumer service, just slow. Woodland Biscuit Company is a very small restaurant. During the good weather months they have outdoor seating too, which helps to accommodate more parties. But this is not the place to bring large groups. Of course you come for the biscuits. They offer "first come, first serve" cinnamon roll biscuits but as we were in the late brunch crowd, they were sold out. So we settled on The Messy to split but my son didn't like the granola on top BUT that also didn't stop him from shoving a 1/4 biscuit in his mouth at a time. The rest was good too - eggs and bacon plate (served with a small biscuit), and croquettes madame (on top of a large, flat biscuit).

A long time coming to try Woodland Biscuit. I wish our experience had been better, but now we know…read morethis place is a one and done. Plan on waiting, waiting for them to clean a table, waiting for water (which was Luke warm and disgusting really), waiting for them to take your order, and then waiting for the food. 30 minutes before our order was taken. Once the food came out, two entrees show up, missing two others, then one more came out, still missing mine! I was the last to get my dish. Ugh. We ordered mini biscuits (biscuit cinnamon rolls sold out-bummer), and the beets with yogurt sauce and mini biscuits. The beet dish was not as described on the menu! It was a tostada scrambled egg beet thing, and was just okay. The mini biscuits are delicious, light fluffy, and the jam is divine. The dishes we ordered: Breakfast plate with eggs, bacon and potatoes. They are very skimpy on the potatoes, enough for a toddler, but definitely not an adult. Croque Madam, this was very good. The sauce was excellent, and the biscuit is perfect, but again, very small portion. Biscuit and gravy- amazing sauce, delicious, but any farmer would leave hungry. I got the smoked salmon omelette, small portion, very little salmon, tiny scoop of potatoes. Good flavor, but for the price and the amount of food you get, I'm not sure we will ever come back. I definitely don't recommend going out of your way to come here, because you may be very disappointed like we were. If the wait was quicker, portions were bigger or it was priced better, we would consider coming back. I'm sure they don't need more business so they probably don't mind a less than ideal review.

Awesome friendly service, drinks and food came out fast considering how busy they were, and WOW on the burger... thick, perfectly cooked, and tons of flavor - best burger I've eaten all year (and probably longer)! Genuinely the worst service I've ever experienced at a restaurant…read more Let me start with the fact that I've only ever left 5 star reviews at restaurants because of great service. I work in the restaurant industry, so I really appreciate good service and I always tip well, and I take reviews seriously. We confirmed ahead of time that Sammy's could seat our party of ten -- they said "just come." On top of that, their Google profile said they were animal friendly, so I assumed my service animal would be well received. When we arrived with most of our group and the rest just minutes away, we were immediately seated. But then things fell apart. After being seated, we were told we shouldn't have been seated until our full party arrived -- despite the staff being the ones who seated us. When we asked if Emilia wanted us to stand back up and wait in the lobby, she said no, don't worry about it. Yet we felt like a burden the entire meal. The staff seemed frustrated with us rather than accommodating. To make matters worse, my chicken parm -- which they tout as their most famous dish -- arrived cold and watery. I ended up replacing it with the kids' chicken nuggets, which ironically tasted far better. The biggest issue was our server, Emilia. She repeatedly shamed me for having my service animal -- a trained epilepsy detection dog who was quiet, well-behaved, and doing exactly what he's trained to do: staying by my side. I was stunned and humiliated. On top of all that, they refused to split the check for a party of ten -- a completely standard request. When I asked to speak with a manager, Emilia said they weren't available and that she would be talking to them about my service animal. Management, please reach out if you want to make this right. I felt singled out and humiliated. I won't be back, and I'd encourage anyone with a service animal to think twice before dining here.

The Utah elk with huckleberry jam was a standout, such a unique and well-balanced combination. The elk ragu was also amazing, super rich and full of flavor. I loved that they source locally. It really shows and makes the whole meal feel even more special. The presentation of each plate was beautiful. You can tell a lot of care goes into the food, and everything felt intentional and well seasoned. I also really appreciated how they handled dietary needs. The menu clearly labels gluten-free and dairy-free options, which made it easy to navigate without any guesswork. Our waitress was attentive and gave great recommendations throughout the night. Even though it's located in a strip mall, don't let that deter you. The interior has a modern, elevated feel, and the easy parking is honestly a huge bonus.
