We love Mirror Lake Diner. Food is always great, service always friendly. Today I went a bit healthier and got a salad, it was delish. Had tons of ham, cheese, carrots, tomato and cucumber. They didn't skimp on any of it. It was packed today and we still got a table right away. It is a perfect little mountain diner decorated with pictures for sale taken by a local photographer. Service was great. Everyone was very nice and accommodating. They were busy but we were seated quickly and we got our food surprisingly fast. We sat on the patio with our two toddlers and dog. There were a lot of flies and it was a bit hot but we wanted to be outside so that is on us! The flowers surrounding the restaurant are so pretty. We spent a moment admiring the fuzzy bumble bees before leaving. The food was good too. I got the special BLT. I can't remember the exact name but it had sprouts and avocado in addition to the BLT part. I put some fry sauce on it and it was delish! The sweet potato fries were great too. My husband said they were better than the regular ones he ordered. He got a burger and he said it was average (not bad, not mind blowing). My 3 year old enjoyed a plate of 3 small pancakes and bacon. He said it was "really good"! We visit Kamas a lot for our camping adventures, and we will definitely be back! It was slightly more pricey than average; we paid $55 for two entrees, a kids meal, and an iced tea (with a tip). Mirror Lake Diner is a small quaint little classic diner that I found on google! It's a true hidden gem about 25 mins away from the ski resorts. Upon entering we were greeted with a big warm smile and were advised to sit where we liked. Meagan, our server, who was also our greeter was awesome! She was attentive, friendly and accommodating for my special substitutions! The food wasn't the best to me, I'd say a solid 3/5 but what Mirror Lake lacked in flavor, they more than made up for in fresh ingredients, service and portion size! They desperately need a manager at this restaurant. I was seated where I faced the kitchen for breakfast. They had several plates stacked up from the kitchen waiting to be delivered to the customers. I saw some of them sit for almost 15 minutes while the wait staff seemed disorganized. One of the servers kept talking to their friends seated next to us and ignored all the food just sitting under the heat lamp. As expected our breakfast food was cold. I asked to remake the pancakes and the server seemed bothered by my request and didn't care. She also screwed up our order and was not attentive. Of course, my pancakes come out done on side and raw on the other side. We had to ask several times for refills. Apparently, the mantra customers first doesn't apply here. Was a nice surprise finding this place. Clean and very well played out. Staff were friendly and promptly greeted us. We came in for lunch while in the area. Nicely rounded menu with lots to choose from. I liked the make your own burger by choosing toppings and such. We had the Fish & Chips, The Turkey sandwich and Burger & Fries. We have a cabin up in Kamas, and we stop at Mirror Lake diner every time we are up here. It is your perfect cozy diner with delicious food. The service is always a bit slow, but they are always short staffed for the amount of patrons in the house. That kinda just comes with the territory in a small cabin town. We love the Ruben, French dip, Fish and chips, Philly Cheesesteak, and the scones!:) The French Dip is my personal favorite, but I hate soggy bread, so I always either tell them to not put the garlic aioli on it, or I get a tiny bit on the side and add it if I want. Happened to be near Kamas for the Park City Home Showcase at dinner time, so we used our trusty Yelp app to find a new-to-us place to eat. GLAD we came to Mirror Lake Diner! There are both tables and booths to choose from, they instructed us to sit anywhere we wanted (nice to grab your first choice - we picked a booth). We enjoyed some local artwork for sale that's displayed throughout the building. It's a Friday night about 6 but we were seated and watered right away. The friendly server came quickly with suggestions for us first-timers. She said the prime rib and chicken fried steak are local faves as well as some sandwiches: Reuben, Philly cheesesteak, and French dip. We started off with Heber Valley Artisan Cheese (our favorite family-owned dairy down the road - they have a shop and run events year 'round for all ages) ... they fry their curds without breading, giving the outer crust a light, flaky, crunch without the extra carbs! The smokey dip is kind of a BBQ fry sauce, but better than how I describe it. The chicken fried steak had the best country gravy I've ever had, with chunks of sausage and bacon! They went a bit heavy on the pepper, but it didn't ruin the meal for us. The sautéed snap peas are a nice alternative to typical soggy frozen mixed veggies. My heart is with Chubby's Cheesesteak (Pleasant Grove, UT), but this one was actually really, really tasty! Loved the grilled vegetables, the steak was tender and seasoned to perfection, and they toast the bun for texture.
