This was my first Ouidad cut with Shauna and she knows her curls :) She is a pro when it comes to recommending great products from the line and technique. Sarah does awesome work and it is such a welcoming and friendly environment. All of the girls there are great and I wouldn't hesitate to go to any of them! She sat me down in the chair and started with a little consultation about my hair, what I'm looking for, and how I style it. Said I wanted to cut a decent amount of length and get some body/volume that'll look good even if I don't style it and Grace certainly delivered! Will definitely be going back and would recommend to anyone for a haircut!

First let me mention that the salon is beautiful and carries only the best products ever - Oribe. They have a free parking lot, which is convenient for drivers like myself. I also really like how they have a tea/coffee/wine bar. Over the past year Kathy has given me the best hair! She is my go-to hair stylist in the Boston area and I'm so happy we found each other! Here's why Kathy is the best in biz: She is meticulous when it comes to hair. Whether it be for cut, dye, or style Kathy has it under control. I love how she's always able to bring my lifeless hair back to life. I also appreciate how she doesn't go crazy with the scissors and gives my hair volume and dimension without chopping it all off. She's always able to nail the color I want. We're currently working on transitioning my dark brown hair to a light balayage for the summer and it's coming along beautifully. She's extremely professional and personable. Every time I see Kathy, she's super happy and holds great conversation. This makes the hours that I sit in the salon go by quick and very enjoyable. Not to mention she's stylish and stays on top of all the latest hair trends. She's seriously the best! You have to see Kathy for your hair.

Although this facial was a 4.5, it definitely deserves to be rounded up than down. I have never had…read morea facial before so this was my first "treat yo-self" moment for the new year. I went in, not knowing really what to expect. The studio space is actually beautifully decorated soft couches and nice wall art. I had booked basic facial with Diane, but she recommended a ultrasonic facial (I believe) so I went with that. First she started me off with a face mask made from pomegranate, and it was 100% my favorite part. It smelled AMAZING and couldn't get over how it filled the room with this amazing aroma. It started to tingle my face but she said it meant that it was lifting the dead skin away. Neat! So on to the actual facial which used an ultrasonic machine, it was the coolest feeling. She didn't explain too too much but honestly I was fine with not talking. It was relaxing but I was skeptical. I mean, how is this going to make my skin feel soft? Towards the end she rubbed parts of my face, which I wish she did longer of. It was so nice and relaxing I would've preferred more of that. At the end, I touched my face and actually couldn't stop. It was so soft and my skin seemed so bright. I could've believe it was my skin!! The only gripes I had with the facial was my chin area. When I looked in the mirror I could actually see some blemishes sticking out since my skin was so clear. I wish she had manually extracted them so I could get the full effect. I also still had some stuff on the sides of my face from the facial. Overall I'd recommend this to anyone who wants to try out a lowly facial, especially if you grab the group on deal. I bought it for $45 dollars and the facial was valued at $110. Make sure to tip appropriately!!!

Jamie is one of the stylists at J.Stevens salon in Newtonville and he's great! I found out about…read morehim by reading reviews about local stylists on citysearch.com. He got excellent reviews so I figured he was worth trying. Well, I was very glad that I did because my experience with him was very positive..he spent a long time looking at my hair and asking me questions before doing any cutting. The end result was a stylish bob that grew out very well. Since that first time, I've been back to see Jamie for a few haircuts and a partial foil and have always been pleased with the results. Jamie's expertise in coloring is particularly notable...I am very very fair-skinned and, before finding Jamie, I had highlights done at Dellaria (in Newton Ctre.) that were too ashy for my skin tone. The stylist at Dellaria just went for the blondest she could go on my hair without really considering my coloring. When I went to Jamie, he took about 15 minutes to talk about color with me and about what kind of highlights would compliment my skin tone. He decided on two different colors that were golden and were a much better match with my skin. The end result was very complimentary to my skin tone and I no longer looked washed out. My highlights also grew out very well and did not turn brassy after only a month the way they used to. Finally, Jamie has a wonderful personality. I would say that he is a "gentle soul." He is very kind and patient and there is no pretense about him despite the fact that he is so good at what he does. He seems to really care about his clients and I always feel comfortable sitting in his chair. As long as I live around here, I'll continue to go him!

Jamie's the only person i will trust to do anything to my hair!…read more I found him about 3 years ago on city search because my hair was a complete mess. i'm talking asian teen going blonde and it went horribly wrong kind of mess. haha. i was looking for someone who knew what they were doing and was NOT located in chinatown. i was under the assumption that asian people knew how to cut/dye asian hair and boy, was i wrong. at the time, Jamie was at J. Stevens salon out in Newton, a bit of a hike, but i figured it was worth a shot. When i phoned to make the appt (it was Jamie who picked up), i inquired about pricing because i didn't have all that much to shell out. he quoted me a fair price and it is still the same price i pay now when i see him, 3 years later. it's been a while so i don't quite remember exactly how that initial appt went. but my hair went from being dry, damaged and horribly colored to healthy, shiny and strong and I LOVE IT. he'll always ask what color/cut you want and walks through it with you to make sure you're both on the same page. and if you want something new, but not sure what, he's got lots of ideas. i feel awesome when i leave. i'd recommend him to everyone, though some are not willing or able to pay his prices. but *i* am! Jamie is easy-going, open-minded, easy to talk to and an amazing colorist. visits are always relaxing and enjoyable. that reminds me...i'm due for a visit soon. *makes note to self* :)

My hair had grown out for 10 months and I hadn't applied color so she could see what the texture was like. Esmeralda spent the time to listen to my concerns, observe my hair and discuss options of what to do next. I liked her suggestions and she offered to do a color treatment. I wondered if she had time as she was already working with another client. She happily said of course! My appointment was at 10:15 a.m. and she had consulted with me, washed, applied color, cut, dry and styled my hair in an hour! I love the color, texture and style this creative professional did in that amount of time. She is very friendly, a good listener and a master stylist. I will easily refer her to anyone looking for a new prescision specialist. Generally, I feel it's a good idea to change it up once in a while. A new person looks at your hair, listens to your concerns and lifestyle with a fresh prospective. I look forward to working with Esmeralda again!
