The first thing you might ask yourself is why is someone from NYC is writing a review about a hair stylist in Boston. Well it can be summarized quite easily, I still find myself schlepping in the car up to Boston to get a cut. Now I know this might not make sense, I mean we have more than our fair share of stylists down here - but I have to say Kent is really that good, I mean really damn good. I've been going to Kent for 11 years and I have always been quite pleased. As has been pointed out previously, he really does try to fit in last minute appointments and that is how he hooked me as client so long ago and continues to keep me as I drop by for a cut whenever I am in town. Over the years, Kent has changed up my hair style a number of times and I've always been very happy with what he has done and I've been complimented on numerous occasions - this being one of the true measures of a great cut. I mean who doesn't like extra compliments!! And he's doing all this with a cut for me - who would've thought someone could go the extra mile for us guys too!! I've referred a number of people to Kent, and everyone has been ecstatic with the job he has done. Honestly, I can say if you want someone who knows what they are doing, does a great job with a great attitude and demeanor, and at a reasonable price - then give Kent a chance. But seriously, if you seen I'm in town - get out of the chair, it's my turn... read more

I have been going to Kent for a few years now. He also did the hair for my wedding - I decided to have three different hair styles - one for each time I had a dress change. He was fabulous and I am so happy he was there on my big day! But with that said, I see Kent every 2-3 months. He is so talented, and he knows I am low maintenance on the hair front and knows exactly how to cut it so that I always step out of the place looking like a supermodel. I lived in Boston for many years and recently moved to NYC. I will still be going to Kent even though I live a few hours away now. Whenever I need to book an appt, I just give him a ring and he pencils me in. The haircut is always super fast - only about 15minutes. I am always so impressed with how fast he moves and how he can make me look great in such a short time. Whenever people have asked me about my haircut, I always refer them to Kent! I've recommended him many times now and would do so in a heartbeat - hence why I am posting up this review! Anyway if you are looking for a new hair stylist in Boston, definitely call up Kent and give him a try. You won't be dissappointed. read more

Kent is the best hairdresser I have ever been to! I have been going to him for 10 years and he has never given me a bad color or cut...not once. Kent does a fantastic color job, I get blonde highlights and people always ask me where I get my hair done. Kent's prices are right on for the service he provides and they are competitive to other businesses. He can give you the hair cut you have in mind or if you do not know what you want, he will suggest styles. Kent rents space at Jacques Amar but he works for himself, he does everything himself ( washing hair, color, and cut) and he is super fast!! He is so talented that he gets me in and out in an hour. I travel over an hour to go to him, its comforting to know I have a hairdresser who I can trust! I HIGHLY recommend him and I am sure others on here will too! read more

I have been going to Kent for 12 years now and I have never been disappointed with the quality of his work! He is amazing. I just sit in the chair and ask Kent to make me look good. He has given me several different hairstyles in the past 12 years and all were fabulous. I always receive compliments on my hair, which rarely happened before I started seeing Kent. He is on time, efficient, and a true pleasure to chat with while he is styling your hair. My 8 yo daughter just started going to see Kent with me about a year ago. She loves him! She counts down the days until our appointment. He keeps her entertained and makes her look fabulous too. I have recommended Kent to several friends and coworkers over the years and they too have become loyal customers! I would highly recommend Kent to anyone. read more

Kentola (as I like to call him) is THE BEST. I have been going to him for 8 years now. The first time I actually went to him was after I had met him in a bar. The previous day I had gone to a Newbury St. Salon and was completely miserable at the $300 coloring job that they had done my hair looked grey! He told me to come by his salon and to my HUGE relief he fixed it...I have been hooked every since. He is not afraid to change up my haircut, which I always love and he plays with my color to reflect the changing seasons...also a plus. He is fast, fun and I always walk out feeling fabulous. All of my girlfriends I have sent to him are now regular clients. Word to the wise, if you do make an appointment, plan on going out afterwards because you are bound to leave looking GORGEOUS! read more

I have been going to Kent for over 6 years. I had a neighbor whose hair I always admired and she referred me. I go about every 5 weeks and I have never been disappointed. Kent is always on time and does an EXCELLENT job! He is fast and efficient. Kent always asks what I want and makes it happen. His prices are very reasonable for such great service. In addition, Kent gives a great head massage when he washes your hair. I have referred several friends to Kent and they have been very pleased with his work. The only thing even better than Kent's work is his personality. You will enjoy your time with Kent and walk out looking fabulous! read more

Simply put ... Kent is the BEST!!! Sassy cuts, beautiful color/highlights, fashion advice, decorator, therapist, but most of all - friend! Once you become a client of his - you immediately become his friend - that is how it keeps getting better year after year. (15 years or more - I stopped counting) The more he gets to know you - it becomes even more simple - he knows the right cut for that visit, he knows the right color for that season ... you just walk in, sit back and relax, and leave there looking your very best... Shouldn't everything in life be this wonderful? read more

Kent has been cutting my hair for over 15 years. I would never use anyone else, if I can help it. I live in the South End, and because he seems to be able to make me look great in no time at all, I have followed him everywhere he has hung up his scissors. I don't use color, but I have recommended him to many who do, and all agree he does that as well as he cuts and shapes hair. He listens, he understands that people don't all want to look the same, and he is a consumate professional. Highly recommended for both men and women. read more

I have been going to Kent for over 15 years. Kent is really a true master at what he does. He has experience with everything! I cannot recommend him more highly and have had nothing but positive experiences. He cares and is passionate about his clients, and that translates into his work. Kent has a great sense of personal style. He is a student of fashion and style, and is always up on the current trends. Beyond that, if you are having a bad day, Kent is always there to pump me up! What more can you want from a stylist. read more

I highly recommend Kent! I have been seeing Kent for 10 years and now travel 3 hours roundtrip to get my hair cut and colored by him. I'm not high maintenance. I tried local salons (Northampton , MA) and no one could match the perfect highlighting Kent does. He is fast with the foil which ensures you get an even color. He'll spend the extra time on the style. He is a pleasure to visit with as well - so funny! He makes you look and feel gorgeous. -- "Kimberlina Blonde", Western Mass. read more

I travel in from the burbs after work and although he has many clients Kent makes you feel that you are special! His technique for cut and color is amazing. Make plans to go out after your cut because you will look like a million bucks! I have tried places closer to where I live and work and am always disappointed so now I make the effort to see Kent on a regular basis. read more

I have been going to Kent since he has started hair styling, maybe 18 years? I find it worth the trip from Framingham to come to my appointment. My friends always notice how well my hair is cut. He is always professional and fun to be around. Not only that he does a great job on men, but I usually notice how fabulous he makes women look leaving the place. read more

I leave all decisions to Kent who truly is an artist; masterful with both color and cut, I never have to worry about "bad" hair experiences again. When I leave Kents chair, not only do I look amazing, I feel amazing (Kents cheery personality gives me a lift)! All the best in 2011 If you are in need a winter or anytime hair boost give Kent a ring! read more

I too travel an hour to see Kent. I've been getting my hair done with Kent for about 15 yrs. now, back when he was on Newbury Street. He is super fast, which I love, and always spot on with color and cut. He is a MUST try if you're pondering a new stylist!!! read more
