Typically I'd expect to walk into a business and be greeted warmly. Maybe a "how can I help you today?" thrown in for good measure. Especially if this business was surely losing customers left and right to comparable online services. But both times I've walked into Sign-a-Rama I've received blank stares as if I've showed up unannounced to a party I wasn't invited to. I went to Sign-a-Rama because all the online sign shops were overwhelming with choices and I needed guidance from an expert. Unfortunately, the owner seemed to know less about available banner stands than I did. Instead of an expert, I got an in-person version of the websites I'd seen, except with less information. Newsflash-- If your small business lacks personality and expertise, you WILL lose out to the Internet. Except in this case. I was strapped for time so I crossed my fingers and ordered the cheapest banner I could. They'd have made much more money off of me if they tried even a little bit. Oh well. The banner turned out fine so 2 stars for that. But I'm not sure I'd go back. Go here if you like being stared at awkwardly. read more

[SERVICE] I contacted Sign-A-Rama Cambridge late on a Friday afternoon here on the west cost as I had several graphics that I need produced in Boston for a few clients of mine going to a trade-show. Of course, by then their offices were closed over on the east coast but, I still received a phone call to let me know that I would receive a quote on Monday morning and had a pleasant chat with Mike McVey. It wasn't until 12:29am PST that I did finally receive that quote and I had to make my decision before lunch in order to process a PO, get it approved, and out to my vendor. Otherwise, I knew that no sign shop in town would be able to meet my very last minute land date. Alas, they were too late but decided to move things around and print my order anyway-- to my surprise. This is why I chose to write a review. They went out of their way to help me in a bind. The guys at Sign-A-Rama Cambridge will take care of you-- that is evident not only from other yelpers but it seems to be their M.O. [ONLY NEGATIVE] I did not authorize the go-ahead on the estimate they sent and I didn't get a proof to approve before they printed. I feel bad about this miscommunication but I just can't help that business is business. [PRICE] They do not have the most competitive pricing, but by their attention to detail with the estimate they did for me, I'm sure that the quality of work is worth the price. read more

First- this Yelp page lists the business as in Cambridge- but the location is actually in Somerville. Second- I requested a quote over 3 weeks ago- was told they would email me the next day with the quote- nothing.. I called 3 days later- "oh yeah we will send it right over"- still nothing- called two weeks later- "oh yeah! We will send it right over"- a week later- still nothing. I didn't know it was so hard to try and give you my business. They must be doing really well to NOT want my money. Haha. I just gave up. read more

I recently bought a new car and had to put signage on the car because it's registered commercially and is the requirement of The City of Boston. Signarama did a great job for a lot less money than I previously paid. I wish I had known about them sooner. Highly recommended if you need lettering on your car or truck. They are in the graphic art business and they do many more things. read more

I waited until the last minute to order the vinyl sign I needed for an event, and was pretty sure we were stuck with poster board and sharpies, but decided to call these guys just in case. The guy who helped me on the phone was super helpful and courteous. He promised that it would be done the next day before 4. By 2:30 the next day, we had a beautiful sign, perfectly printed. Neal and co. are awesome. Got the best design for us at the best price--even delivered for free! (Says he's often in the area). It was a 3'x3' clear plexi with green & blue 3-D image and name. Neal came to the office to see what paint color we use and have the CEO pick out the right shade of blue and green from his pantone color guide. Neal was honest and said would could install the 3-D posts ourselves, even showed me the procedure and gave a pattern of the sign to hang it straight. Signarama's expertise and quality are top notch. The sign looks great. It did take several weeks to get done, but you won't be disappointed when it arrives! read more

I have a chiropractic office in Cambridge and Signarama installed an awning exactly as I designed it. More importantly, a few years after it was installed the awning ripped due to snow and other environmental stresses. Neal and his crew from Signarama came out and replaced the torn awning with a new awning with no questions! They are great to work with and backed up their work with a guarantee! These folks were great. I was in a pinch for some last-minute vinyl lettering and Neal helped me figure out what I needed and took care of all the details, including sticking it on the signs I made.
