Phoned in on Thursday, picked up on Monday - bada bing bada bang! Riding my bike through the industrial part of Somerville to find their shop, I was expecting to find a bunch of spiky haired, torn jeans art school kids shacked up in a too small room, hunched over a printer. What I found was a spacious ground floor operation with four (?) machines, a rainbow brite assortment of stacked t-shirts and an affable, grown-up owner. Being a business savvy guy, he had heard about Yelp and was pleased to have us in the shop. He explained the technology behind their new direct to shirt printing (much like an inkjet, no heat, no template transfer) which allows em to bang your gear out with a quickness. I've tried working with these guys twice. both times it's been very discouraging. It felt like they didn't want me there. Their website does not have accurate pricing. I was providing them with apparel, which I needed screen sprinted. Qrst's website states you need as little as 24 pieces to get the service done, which isn't the case. You need 36. I am very impressed with QRST's for custom printing. Last Friday, I brought in my singlet for the upcoming Boston Marathon to have my first name printed on the front and a custom design, not yet ready, on the back. The guys at QRST's quickly took my order and then delivered the total fee: $9. I actually asked them if it was a mistake, but it was not. A front and back custom design (black ink only) cost just $9, and it didn't even faze them that they hadn't seen the specifics of the back design. They promised to have it done in two weeks. I was able to send my custom artwork via email on Monday, and received a call today, Friday, that the singlet was ready--a full week early. It looks even better than I imagined. I recently placed an order in with QRST's. I wish I could say I had a great experience, but I didn't. So you place your order by email. In my email, I specifically mentioned that I wanted Royal Gildan tank tops. The front picture for the image I provided was yellow on a Royal/turquoise/blue background. The back picture image I provided was also yellow on a Royal/turquoise/blue background. It should be very clear that I wanted my design on a Royal/Blue/Turquoise Gildan Tank. I think this is pretty obvious. So they send me back the invoice. First big mistake I catch is that they recorded t-shirt and not tank top. They sent me another invoice. I double check to make sure it is a tank top and not a t-shirt. Great. I approve and they tell me it will be finished by Friday. Luckily, they finished early. However, when I came to pick up my order the tanks were RED. This is a customer's worst nightmare. WHY WOULD I SUBMIT MY DESIGN ON A BLUE/TURQUOISE BACKGROUND IF I WANTED RED? Here is what really pissed me off. I said I clearly specified in the email that I wanted royal gildan tank tops. ROYAL GILDAN IS VERY SPECIFIC. The man retorted that royal was not blue. He told me Royal was red, and I was the one who was confused. Uhm excuse me sir, but royal gildan is pretty darn specific and accurate. Well I placed another order in. They offered 25% off and to have it by Friday. Great. Problem solved. I just am footed with a bill. Here is my advice: When ordering with QRSTs, they WILL make mistakes on the invoice, even when you thought you may have been pretty darn explicit. read more

I placed an order for 15 custom t-shirts 5-6 days before I needed them. I called multiple places that turned me down before finding QRST online. My first encounter was with Rachael, who informed me that they usually require atleast 7-10 business days but she would check to see if they'll be able to accommodate my order. Indeed they were. I placed my order on-line using their order inquiry page, and not long after I received an email confirmation from Peter asking that I confirm my order. Peter and his team worked with me throughout the decision and even made sample embroidered logos for me to put over the Patagonias so that I could really envision what the finished product would look like. I consistently order from QRSTs for tshirts needed for an organization I am a member of at university. They consistently look beautiful, last long, and are finished in a timely manner. After years of ordering from Custom Ink, I was very impressed with the prompt ordering process, very reasonable prices, and quick turnaround. I do wish their emails/invoice had a sort of picture of your apparel with the design on it - which might beat some of the miscommunications in the other reviews. That being said, as long as you're reading your invoice over carefully then you should be all set. In my most recent order, I needed them sooner than we previously thought we would and QRSTs rushed it by a few days for no extra charge. We are eternally grateful.
