I print a few little art pieces here everyone and awhile and I've had a great experience each time. The workers are kind, quick, and delightful to chat with while my job prints. This place is da bomb! Even though the store clerks can be kinda snobby (they deal with snobby Harvard students, so I guess it rubs them the wrong way) the prices for copies are great. Super fast, and not a rip off like Kinko's with their fancy-pants copycards. Just be aware that at the beginning of each semester, the place is a MADHOUSE. Try the 99 Mt. Auburn Street location if that happens. (just about 2 blocks towards the river) A very warm comforting place during the winter months if you need a break from the bitter cold. read more

I would not use this business unless you enjoy being snapped at and treated with derision for asking simple questions (eye rolls, sighs of annoyance, angry tone). I don't need peppy or super friendly service, but I do need baseline respect. Strangely enough, his tone changed halfway through speaking to us to being less biting and even friendly. I am unsure what is going on, but as people of color, it is especially uncomfortable to be treated with hostility from the moment you walk into a business. read more

The BEST spot, hands down. I joined Yelp so I could write this review. Feeling so much gratitude for Gnomon. I needed several books and a big stack of postcards for an art exhibition. A different shop really messed up the printing and it looked horrible - so I was in a panic. I came to Gnomon and explained what I needed. I'm so glad that I did. They understood right away and in about five minutes I had a perfect proof of the book, bound and trimmed, in my hands. Nate and Derek were incredibly helpful, patient and generous. They anticipated questions I didn't know how to ask! They knew the little details that would make the printing look great, not just "good enough." Everything was incredibly fast, affordable and, above all, kind and professional. I sort of knew how the books and postcards needed to look, but I didn't have the experience with the editing programs or the physical materials to know what to ask for - print quality, matte vs glossy paper?? I was way out of my depth. So at first, I wasn't able to make all the choices I needed to make. What really amazed me about Gnomon was, how Nate and Derek understood what I needed even better than I did. Nate helped me figure out the paper and print quality I needed, and explained the choices I was making about the sizing and borders of the postcards. He printed out several examples, kept adjusting to make them look better and better, and helped even out some errors in the files. Derek edited my files to update them with some new text that I didn't know how to add, and even when I asked for a last minute change he was gracious and understanding. I can't think of the last time I had an experience like this, where people who are true experts use their expertise to make something as good as possible, even better than what I was asking for! That's a luxury for most people but not for Gnomon customers. They truly went above and beyond and I appreciate it a lot. After the order, they even sent me the updated files so I could continue editing or working from them if I needed. Everyone at the exhibition loved the books so much that they all disappeared! I have of course passed by this iconic Harvard Square fixture innumerable times, but just did my first print job there yesterday. 25 posters printed beautifully in minutes while I waited, very friendly competent and efficient staff, so much better than any experience I have ever had at Kinko's or Staples, I will never consider printing anywhere else in future! Please use Gnomon copy in a sentence. Okay. I have gnomoney after going to gnomon copy. $17 for a cut and spiral binding. Conveniently enough they don't have prices listed anywhere that I could see, and I wasn't about to shop around print/copy stores so I just ate the price. Also the guy working said it would take 1.5 hours to do the job, when I know the job takes 10 minutes max. You might say, he probably had other orders- the dude was straight lounging on reddit when I walked in. I gave it a 2 star rating originally, but just writing out my experience now... I can feel a headache coming on. Give me my star back.. I can't waste stars, there are poor businesses in Africa that need my stars. read more

So $3 could be a shock when you aren't expecting it but BUUUUUUUUUT the prints I got were so much better than effing Kinko's I almost burst into tears of joy. They have REAL printers here. Not ancient cast-offs that perpetually scroll "drum life low- replace soon". I was able to go in the middle of the day and I'm guessing most school related activities were already done because there weren't any students there so I can't comment on what it's like when it's crazy. The guy working was nice and knowledgeable and- best of all- let me print on the fancy-schmancy Paper Source paper I'd picked up along the way. It's always hell to park around Harvard so I'm hoping the Medford location is just as great. read more

I frequented here When I was going to college in Cambridge. I was just searching yelp for a good copy and print store where I like now in Watertown an this shop cMe up as an option. I forgot how good this place was and really not too far to drive from Watertown to get some quality printing done for an event I have coming up. They always made everything easy here and cares that your project gets printed/created the way you truly want it. Not just a quick print then in to the next kind of a place. I am inclined to try them again just for old times sake and there is a favorite sandwich shop I enjoy going to in cambridge that I can stop at too!I will update my post once I see if I get the same service and quality as before. read more

Really professional guys who go out of their way to give the customer exactly what they're looking for. I've come here a few times to print my portfolio. Each time I've received quality service. Albeit I wasn't too skilled at printing to know what I was looking for but the guys here gave me options for binding and paper. Not only that but when I handed them my USB drive they mentioned that they charge to open each file so I came back 15 minutes later with one combined document to avoid the 3 dollar charge per file they had to open. Not many places would warn you of that. Most would just take you for all you're worth. And when I made a mistake with my layout they were nice enough to suggest a binding that would work with my pages instead of what I originally had asked for. I will say one thing which made me deduct a star is that even though these guys do a great job with whatever I give them each time I've gone with my files they return my USB with some sort of virus. Luckily all the computers I use are equipped with some anti-virus scanner or other so it isn't that big of a deal for me. But they're local and open late so those who like me wait down to the wire to get stuff done Gnomon is there for you. read more

They are lightning fast! I have emailed in a file and had the proof at my door in ~30 minutes. They have always been very nice to me as well. They are also the best value price-wise. The coursepacks I have had from them have all been quite reasonable, and you can't beat their prices on posters and newsletters! read more

These guys are amazing. They are so quick to respond, so helpful in the store, and via email. They ask the right questions and make sure you are making an informed decision about your printing needs. Furthermore, they have come through for me in a big way--more than once--when I needed something printed the same day. If they can make it happen, they will! The last 3 times that I have been here to get something printed, they have not been able to do it. The first time, their computers were down and they couldn't get my file from my USB drive - they said come back in 48 hours. I came back and they said they were too busy and to come back again. I didn't head back. The next time I went to get something printed, it was double sided which they said was fine. I came back to pick it up and they had printed every other page not double sided (essentially missing the back of every page). Not only did I have to pay for their mistake, they printed it wrong in exactly the same way (no back page). I gave up and got it printed elsewhere. The last time I head in and their color printer is down until it can get serviced on Monday (48 hours from now) and they won't be able to print anything. I hesitate to go back to see if it is fixed on Monday considering the last time I went back they couldn't print my file. They service is terrible (especially on Saturdays) and they don't tell you what's doing on until you prod them to explain. read more

Incredibly rude and unprofessional. The attendant was standing outside fiddling with his iPhone. At first, I didn't know if he worked there, so I entered the empty store and called out twice for assistance. He ignored me when I entered and ignored me when I called out. When I finally went outside and asked him if he was an employee, he replied "Yes--wait a minute," and continued to fiddle with his iPhone. I went back inside and waited until he decided to enter and take care of me. He apparently doesn't give a damn about his customers. read more

Gnomon copy wanted to charge me $3 to open a file on their computer from a USB stick. It would have cost me three dollars and some change just to print a single b+w page. WTF? Of all the ridiculous things that I have encountered in this lifetime, this is definitely pretty up there. read more

Beware--this place is so expensive! They charge $3 for opening up a file to print (well, $3 for the first three files, and then $1 for each additional file). $3 for RIGHT CLICKING. It's an additional $0.08/sheet of printed paper. I'd rather save money, go to Staples down the road, and pay $0.12/sheet. read more

I don't know what these people are talking about...the customer service at this place is awesome. I brought in a picture to blow up and print out and not only did they do it a few times for me to make sure it came out right, the owner also showed me some of his photographs and talked to me about traveling. I brought in a price quote from Kinko's to see if they would beat it, and they did. Really seemed to take pride in the quality of their work. I am definitely going to go back to print up some more things soon! read more

Great local place for printing & copy services. The staff is nice and goes out of their way to help you. Had them print a document that has both black & white and color pages. Most places (ugh Kinkos) wil ask you to separate them into two files if you dont want to be charged the full color rate for all the pages (yes even the B&W text) in that one file. Not here. They are super flexible and will work with you to ensure that you only pay for the actual amount of stuff that you use. They're quick too. Came in with my USB drive and was out with my 80-page document 15 mins later. As of June 2013: $0.55 per page for color. read more

One star is generous. Over 15 minutes for two copies of one eight page, single sided, black and white document. You would have thought it was rocket science! With what they charged, you would have thought they had printed it on handmade paper as well. Horribly inept service, overpriced and a total waste of time. My copier decided to stop working in the middle of a big project due the next day. I looked on Yelp for copy centers close by and found Gnomon.
