I received horrible customer service from Paul but even worse the proof they made me pay $26 for was blurry and not usable at all. I asked him to check with the printer and technician and they said that's the best they got. It's obvious he mishandled my file or just have a printer thats either not calibrated or junk. I did a lot of research to choose them, go into town and pick this up. I was so excited and got a huge let down. I will upload pics... the blurry one is from Alpha Graphics and the second from a printer down the street the same day. If I could give one star I would. I called (what is now going on over a month ago) and talked to someone (not giving her name) who was nice on the phone. We were looking for a new printer and while this project was somewhat small, we do a fair amount of printing for clients and I was hoping Alpha would be our new resource. She assured me our printing project would not be a problem and said she'd send an estimate based on our very specific conversation and order details. Cut to a week later. I call again and talk to her, still no estimate. She apologizes, assures me she is working on it and will get it to me asap. Cut to another week. I call again and leave a message asking where is the estimate and could she call me. I get an email back later that day with confirmation on what I was looking for so she could draw up an estimate. I email all details (again) and it's now OVER another week and I have never heard back. No estimate. Thank you for wasting my time; thankfully I saw this coming and engaged with another printer. At this point, I wouldn't let them print a B/W Post-it Note for me. If this is how you treat prospective new clients who you are trying to "win", I can't imagine what the level of service is once you're engaged. I got an email this morning that a colleague of mine travelling to Boston for meetings forgot his business cards. I went to Fedex and Staples for same-day printing with no luck. I randomly found AlphaGraphics as the closest print shop (while I at Staples), rang them up and had 50 perfect cards in about an hour. read more

Inexcusable professionalism. Placed my second order with Alphagraphics using the same format as the previous order (psd). Was quoted a price and was told I could pick up a week later. Called to pick up my order and was told they could not use the file format psd and needed a vector format instead (which a psd can be converted to). When explaining this was the same format I used on the previous order they told me it was no longer acceptable yet never called to express that in the first place. Order was 565 dollars that I will have to take elsewhere. read more

I've gone here for everything from invitations for a work function to personal business cards. They're fast, thorough, very professional and very, *very* good! They called me to look at proofs, let me know as soon as my prints were done and were very accommodating, even when I had to make last minute requests. Are they cheap? I would guess not...but the first time I went to them, I didn't have time to shop around. The next time I needed something printed, I didn't shop around then, either. I went right back to them because they were so amazing I didn't want to risk lower quality service even if I could get a lower price somewhere else. While in there, I noticed that they had a lot of large format prints for local businesses, so they must have a reputation in the commercial printing market. read more

I called with a last minute request, on a Saturday no less, and these graphic saviors were able to turn around a design for me in an hour for one of my biggest clients. I think they heard the desperation in my voice but that doesn't always matter for bigger city companies (Boston, NYC, Chicago etc.) They had the customer service of a mom and pop shop but the results of metropolitan geniuses. I had some trouble with them charging me for proofs without telling me beforehand it would cost money, and with the limited paper stocks they had in store. The artwork I wanted on postcards came out dark and desaturated, despite having no problems printing it other places, and the resumes I wanted to get seemed very expensive. I decided to only get 1 of the 3 things I got proofs for actually printed (business cards, which came out nice). It was overall pretty expensive, but a manager from here called me and refunded the cost of the proofs, which was nice of them to follow up with my displeasure and try to correct it. read more

I needed a vinly event backdrop in 3 days, I asked a lot of vendors in Boston who refused to do that. When I called alphagraphics, they were so nice and friendly, and said they had no problem making that for me. Our small business was looking for a new printer in Boston as our old one had moved out of the city. Alphagraphics had good reviews so I called, got a quote and then went to visit their shop. I dealt with Lucas who had given me a quote based on the very exacting information that I provided him. I brought a previous version of the job with me to their shop so that he could see precisely what I was talking about. He confirmed the quote and told me they were out of the stock and had to order it. The next day Lucas called to tell me he had to update the quote because he didn't realize what I was talking about. (I emailed him exact specs and then showed him the exact product) his "updated quote" was double what he written and confirmed quote was when I left his shop. This is not an honest way to run a business. There was nothing vague in the information I presented and he had a hard copy in his hands. As a long time customer, I think Alphagraphics deserves a fair review from me. In my experience, I've only printed art prints from them. PRICE - THE BIGGEST RED FLAG. Almost every time, I've experienced misquoted prices for posters. I usually order a quantity of 20 posters with the same paper type and the prices have been different each time (ranging from $20-40). To add to that, one time I've received 15 prints when I ordered 50 despite paying for 50, and they charged me more. Be VERY careful ordering from here if money is a concern for you (as other reviewers have pointed out before). TURNAROUND - Fantastic. I've requested same day turnaround multiple times. Shortest time I had to wait was 4 hours for my prints. They're very nice about same day requests and really saved me when I needed it. QUALITY - Also great. Their employees will take the time out of their busy work day to contextualize the type of paper your final product will be on. I've only had ink problems two times (some ink didn't print to the sides of one of the copies of my prints, but not something to make a big fuss out of). OVERALL SERVICE - 3/5. The ONLY factor keeping me from coming back is this company's price inconsistency (and a better company, to be honest). Otherwise, Alphagraphics is pretty legitimate. read more
