I visited Sightglass for the first time this morning. The line was long but wait time was pretty short. The employee at the register was nice. I purchased a croissant which was okay. Didn't try the coffee, maybe next time. The sandwiches looked great but out of my budget at $14 Jesus cristos. Think I'll go back to el pollo loco and get my brc burrito for a couple bucks . The atmosphere is nice, the eating area is ample and clean. It appears they brew their own coffee on the spot? They also sell locally made crafts and chocolates. Love it. The perfect start to our glorious girls day! I had a wonderful time hanging out here with my girlie pop! I'm currently on a farewell tour of seeing all of my girlies before I head up north. Sightglass coffee was an excellent place to start our day! Arrived at around 11am on a Saturday and this place was filled with beautiful people (very LA)! We stood in line while perusing the menu and so many things jumped out. Our mouths also watered when we saw all of the yummy pastries on display as well! For drinks, I got the iced caramel miso latte while my friend grabbed the espresso tonic. Mine was super yummy! It was creamy, sweet, and a little umami, soooooo good! I loved that we dined in and our drinks were served in glass cups. We also shared a French onion danish and oh my word! It was so incredible. I knew I wanted something to nosh on and this was perfect. Flakey and delicious with onion and cheese. Good thing I was sharing because the fat kid within me wanted the whole thing and another. I expect to have dreams about this danish. Definitely the highlight of the visit! Also the staff were super sweet and kind! They checked on us a few times. Really great customer service. Very nice 45 minutes spent here! It was the best start to our day in Melrose shopping! When I'm back in town, I'll definitely want to visit again for another yummy drink and a danish. read more

An airy, sun dappled church to remote work, complete with communion wafer-esque pizza. Went on a Sunday for lunch. The place is huge, but almost all tables were still filled by people on laptops or doing work in groups. Food is beyond overpriced for what you're getting. I had to stifle a laugh every time they brought over a new plate. First, the good: our seasonal danish. Flaky with a lemony center. Also staff was kind. Now, to the bad... My girlfriend ordered a latte with cold foam. They brought us a latte without cold foam. She told them about the mistake and they kindly brought back another latte... this one with about a centimeter of cold foam. Could genuinely see the coffee poking through on top before she even took a sip. She got a vegan breakfast burrito. There was what she described as a "gelatinous cube" taking up a large portion of the burrito. Imitation egg, I guess? But a gelatinous cube in look, taste, and texture. My pizza was downright offensive. I got the half margherita pie for $15. I received four slices of pizza that were highly reminiscent of my middle school cafeteria. The bread was good, but the red sauce was some of the weakest I've ever had. The cheese was almost equally pathetic. The side salad was just a lettuce blend, but to their credit it was a lot of lettuce blend with a nice amount of dressing. If you want to work on your laptop try the library. If you want food try another restaurant or cafe. If you want a danish, sure, come here. read more

I first tried sightglass in SF and I really liked it. I finally tried their LA location and it did not disappoint. I tried their hot latte with oat milk and then their iced latte with oat milk. Both very good, solid choices! Plenty of seating inside and some outside in the back and in front. Pastries and coffee beans are available as well. read more

Update : I joined their point system and receive there emails which make me want to used sed Coupon or coupon code. There is one big negative and its their coupon codes in the form of an email - you end of waiting in line and expecting to use it when they tell you its only good for online orders - these coupons though make a consumer come to this store, though and the coupons need to be good for all items online as well as in store. Silly policy and that needs to change, for those of us who live here. Other than that one issue. I love the big open indoor space. It's the perfect place to get work done while enjoying some coffee and pastries. It's one of my favorite places to get brunch and work. The lox bagel is wonderful and super filling! I would definitely recommend and will be back often. read more

Last time I went to Sightglass was when I was living in San Francisco, so it was so nice to be back! It's a lovely, bright, and large space with some large communal tables that are great for working or for chatting and catching up. They also have a curated selection of wine, merch, bouquets, and other goodies. I got the iced brown butter caramel miso latte, less sweet, and it was had the perfect creaminess and subtle nuttiness from the miso. Super unique and tasty! Street parking in the neighborhood. Minimal outlets - none inside that I know of but may be some on the outdoor patio. read more

Beware of this one. Location & ambience are ideal, yes. But the price point is extremely high. This is LA, so I can accept that. What I won't accept is a new fee they implemented called a "Health Tax", which is an additional 4% added to your bill. When I asked, I was told this is to help cover THEIR employees health benefits. I'm all for universal healthcare but passing that cost down to your patrons is obnoxious & absurd. This is a very popular & centrally located coffee house. They are definitely bringing in enough revenue to cover their own employees health insurance. Will not return. read more

My friend dropped off this pastry and it was super yummy! I personally didn't like the Passionfruit seeds, but it was such a WOW combination of flavor, zesty but packed full of creamy oozing goodness. With slightly sugared crispy and fresh croissant dough, I definitely need to visit and check out the bakery myself :) . Parking: Easy free street parking in the surrounding neighborhood streets, just read the street sweeping signs. Experience: I love the vibes here. It's bright, and there's plenty of space to sit, both indoors and outdoors. I feel like the music is a little loud, so just bring headphones or sit outside in the patio. The booths say there's a 2 hour time limit, I'm not sure if that's enforced. I got the miso caramel latte, but I didn't love it. CHOCOLATE CROISSANT 2/10: My aunt and I were excited to check out Sightglass after seeing pictures of their pastries online. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The chocolate croissant was 7.97 and compared to other places, it's almost 2 dollars more than the average price. Not only that, but the croissant was extremely oily after we asked to get it warmed, the oil even seeped into the bag. It also did not have that much chocolate. NOTES-- - The seating was really good, it gives market vibes. It is ideal for people who are wanting to sit and do work since they have a communal table. - We went on a Sunday and the line was quite long so be aware. - The only comment I have regarding the seating and layout of the cafe is that the bathrooms seem to be open? I was able to see into the bathroom from the entrance of the cafe and I saw someone washing their hands. There is a lack of bathroom privacy. read more

This place has sadly gone downhill. Pretty aesthetic inside, however multiple times my order has gotten messed up lately. Today ordered a hot tea and told the cashier with the bandana that I wanted it in the mug not paper cup. I mentioned it twice. She said ok and told me to pick it up from the pickup area which made me think it was gonna be in a paper cup. So I reminded her that it was for here not to go. She said ok. Of course my tea was served in a paper cup, and boiling hot to boot. Barista said it's cause they close in 40 minutes. She should have warned me. Hot water especially at that boiling temperature causes chemicals from the plastic coating in the cup to leach into the drink. So had to throw the drink in the trash. I should have asked for a refund. read more

If you google "best coffee shop for a meeting" in West Hollywood or Hollywood, you will no doubt find Sightglass. Or that's how I did. And it's a scene. At 11 am on a rainy Monday, it was bustling. A line to order gives you a chance to check out their offerings, which go way beyond what you'll find in a Starbucks food display - fresh looking charcuterie and sandwiches along with very pretty pasteries. Truthfully, I didn't try anything. The line was long and since they have a lot of choices, it was moving very slowly. So I abondoned and began looking for seating. There are lots of options but this place gets (and probably STAYS) busy, so finding a spot isn't always easy. There is an outdoor patio, some tables on the sidewalk out front, and communal bar seating, long tables, booths along with 2 and 4 tops. Still, we had to share with a stranger as every space was packed with unrealisticallly good looking twentysomethings pecking away on a Mac. Like I said, it's a scene. Parking can be tough so if you decide to try out this happening joint, go early because you'll have to do several laps. There are paid lots but they're pricey ($10). Look for street parking. Keep looking. This is a cool spot. But I don't think it's that comfortable for settling in and writing your groundbreaking screenplay. Useful to know about if you want to have a first coffee date. Came here for breakfast and coffee. Unfortunately, there was some kind of paper baked into our pastry (though the flavor until we got to that point was really good). The breakfast sandwiches and burritos also took quite a while to come out. They were pretty good, especially the sandwich with tomato jam. However, despite the sandwich taking a while to come out, it was pretty cold. I also got the cold brew which was pretty good. The restaurant itself is pretty big with ample nice seating. I was initially concerned by the not-so-stellar customer service reviews. Nonetheless, I tapdanced right in and I'm glad I did. This place is huge and beautifully designed. I ordered a decaf latte and a breakfast sandwich. The guy who took my order had a terrific disposition and happily answered my two questions about the sandwich. There is so much space to bring your laptop and do a bit of work or reading while enjoying your drink or brekkie or lunch. My latte was excellent. But, my good Lordt, my sandwich took a rocket ship to the moon. It was interstellar. It tasted life the chef took their grandmother's already perfect breakfast sandwhich recipe and elevated it! Hoooowwww????!!!!!! Now, the price tag was steep: $29 (w/ tip) for a breakfast sandwich (add bacon) and a latte. But, the tradeoff is nice. I got a sandwich that is literally out of this world and a great place to do work with lots of natural light. I'll be back! read more

I'm not sure if I get the other reviews but I met up with someone here and it was great. I love how open the space with tons of natural light and the ability to just order from the table. It was crowded on a Tuesday afternoon so you do need to get lucky with a table but I could've spent hours here. Beyond that, the cookie butter latte I got was great. Not overly sweet but one of the better lattes I've had in LA. Is it pricey, yes. But it is good. $10 with oat milk is probably the most I've paid in the city, but I'd probably do it again. The downside to this place is parking depending on the day with street sweeping in the area. I had to circle a few times but ended up getting lucky with a spot right in front. If you can bare the parking situation, this is a perfect place to come and work or to catch up with a friend. read more

Sightglass Coffee is tucked away two blocks from La Brea. Pretty cool and spacious cafe where they roast their own coffee in house. They also do sell some grocery items here from fruits, vegetables, wines, chocolates, premade items, and flower. This cafe does remind me of Urth Cafe with a breakfast and lunch menu as well as bakery with items made in house. The coffee here is actually pretty good. I do like their single origin coffees. No issues there. What I didn't care for is the service here. It's moody, not engaging and non-communicative. I've been here a few times and have experienced this. Absent minded cashier printing out the receipt without giving it to you. No greeting, no smile. No thank you for coming. Of course they expect you to tip and pay that 4% health fee. The barista leaves out the coffee on the counter without calling out names with a handful of people waiting. I'm not sure what it is. Lack of training, generational thing, or this part of town. Last week I stopped by and tried the cookie butter latte and it slapped. Not too sweet & could it was made with in-house ingredients (not artificial tasting). Just left with vanilla cold brew. Pretty sure there is zero vanilla or any syrup in it and the cold brew itself tastes like sour water (i don't know how).
