I usually come here on Friday night only because it's Seafood night. I LOVEEEEEEEE seafood!!! I just wish I live closer so I don't have to travel 35-40 minutes to get here but it's totally worth the the drive. This buffet is nice and clean, not too spacious or fancy but it offers great quality food at fairly affordable priced. They have fresh crab legs (hot & cold), huge size of buttery garlic steamed clams, baked mussels with sriracha mayo, baked oysters with bacon and baby spinach, smoked salmon, marinated grilled halibuts, prime ribs...etc...They're all excellent and delicious!!! This place is always crowded at dinner time, the wait is approximately an hour or more. The employees are great, very friendly and attentive. The only downside is the seafood and good stuffs cut off time way too early on Friday night. You pay for seafood dinner but not all the seafood are available. They basically don't give people who stand in line a chance. By the time you get in, most of the trays are almost gone. So if you love seafood, be there at soon as dinner starts on Friday night so all the stuffs will be available. read more

My husband & I live in Utah. Occasionally we come to Mesquite for the Virgin River Sierra buffet. Each time we've gone has become worse & worse. The food is eye catching but once you taste it we are very disappointed. We haven't been in over a year & a half, for this reason, but picked our grandson up today & gave it another shot. Extremely disappointed. Everything & I mean all hot food was DRY! I believe they have their heat lamps on too high or too close to food or on too long but this has been our issue every time. Only this time we paid nearly $60 for 3 of us. Never going back & don't recommend it to anyone, unless you like dried out food. read more

This was my first time here and not a good first impression. The food was very dry either they have their heat lamps too high or the food is just dry from the start also some of the food was even tasteless! But I can say the salad bar was nice, but the dessert was just disappointing the only things I had liked were the cookies and ice cream otherwise it was very disappointing. The only reason I'm giving 3 stars is for the great, friendly service, price and the fresh made items such as omelets, fresh eggs, fruit and pancakes. Forget everything else at the buffet. The premade pancakes were hard on the edges, coffee was terrible, chicken fried steak inedible, and premade eggs definitely looked like the grainy fake kind, bacon kinda dry, but that doesn't ruin bacon. The value of this buffet is exceptional. only one place I know can beat this price for a buffet. Now you have to understand you are in Mesquite and not Las Vegas so the selection is just a little bit limited but what you do have is great quality fresh food. The salads and dressings were very Fresh. The fruit is fresh, ripe, and delicious. The decor is somewhat dated but that can be overlooked since the food is so good. The soups were hot and tasty. The prime rib and turkey was tender and very flavourful. The peach and cherry cobbler were delicious and the hot rice pudding was unexpectedly tasty ! Only ended up trying breakfast here, but they're open all day and have three meals. The signs say 6.99 for breakfast, but read the tiny fine print and it's actually 8.99 unless you have a higher tier player's card. Very similar to the Station Feast buffets in Vegas. I didn't have high hopes for food quality or selection here since you seem to get these free fairly often from that daily kiosk spin, but on the whole it was actually pretty decent. Decent selection of food, each item was kind of hit or miss. The biscuits and chicken fried steak were surprisingly good, sausage and coffee were kinda ruff. They had a nice array of fresh fruit out ... but no butter for your biscuits and pancakes and etc. That fruit picture in the header is accurate, but I dunno what that yellow-covered meat substance is supposed to be ... looks like the "yellow" from Vegas Vacation. We arrived last thursday evening and rather than eat at a fast food joint, my sister suggested Sierra's Buffet. I guess we could look around and see what was offered. There are specials every day. For thursday, it was $14.99 per person including drinks. My review is based on the entrees I had. I had garlic bread, rice pilaf, fried chicken, swedish meat balls and ziti pasta. The garlic bread portion was just right, not overly buttery and had a garlic flavor. The fried chicken was just right, moist and not oily. I am used to eating fried chicken with some kind of gravy, there wasn't any and it was not really needed. I love the Swedish meatballs, reminds me of Ikea food. It was flavorful for sure. Lastly the ziti had the right pasta sauce but not dripping wet. I did have a second serving of exactly the same items. The fruits were very fresh, large strawberries, juicy canteloupes and sweet watermelons. We were stuffed and fortunately, it was a short walk back to the room. read more

Stopped in at the Virgin River Buffet on the way through Nevada, overall pretty good. They have special nights for certain days of the week, we stopped in on a Tuesday which was steak night - $20 per adult (not sure on kids prices). When you pay, make sure to have your drivers license with you, just a policy that they have - not sure why. The cashier, hostess and server were very nice and friendly. Food wise - there was an okay variety of things from baked potatoes, chicken parm and salmon to mac and cheese, chicken tenders and potato chips for kiddos. The steak was better tasting than originally expected. They had different steaks already on the grill and were pulled off to order based on how you wanted it cooked. Most of the things were seasoned well, but a little extra salt and pepper to taste after the first bite wouldn't hurt. Desert bar was little but good. They had brownies, cookies, cobblers, sugar free deserts and a vanilla, chocolate or swirl soft serve machine. Overall this place was pretty good - no complaints from me and my family. read more

We had dinner here one night and breakfast the next morning. We had interactions with about 8-10 employees total. Out of all those interactions, only 2 were even slightly pleasant. The rest were just outright rude. At breakfast, we got in around 9am. With the covid changes, you have to wait in line to be served rather than traditional buffet style. It definitely takes longer to get food, but we had no problem with this. Around 9:45, a server came around telling us we had "15 minutes to get any more hot food." We were fine with that as we had full plates we were still working on. Just after 10:00, a lady came over and huffed at us. She told us "we need you to leave. We open again in 15 minutes. We need to clean up and you're not leaving us enough time." (Exaggeration much? Lunch is at 11) to which we responded, "okay sorry we didn't know." No one had told us we needed to be out that quickly. Had someone mentioned this we would've respected that rule. She then put her arms in the air and said "you knew! We told you when you came in!" ..... no one had mentioned this to us and this was our first and only interaction with this particular lady (who was the manager btw) so how could she have known whether or not someone told us this? We walked away from our plates of food and left a tip, despite the sour interaction. We didn't understand why she had to be so rude about it. Maybe it's just because we are a younger couple and she feels authority over us? Idk. Either way, I doubt we will be going back. The food was fine, the service sucked. And we both have worked in hotel hospitality so we are familiar with the job. Anyway, if you want decent food, they got it. If you want to be treated like the scum of the earth, they can do that too. The fact that you can have an all you can eat seafood buffet for under $20 is amazing. There were many excellent seafood choices and dishes, including crab legs (hot and cold), nicely cut for easy eating, shrimp, mussels, clams, oysters, salmon, catfish, trout, and even an impressive assortment of non-seafood items, including a carving station, and made to order pasta station. While I would agree not all of it was "the best food I've ever eaten", there was enough variety to create a satisfying meal. Salads, fruits, appetizers, side dishes, and desserts. And if you want a glass of wine, it's a surprising $4. There is something for everyone. Our waitress was efficient and attentive, removing our discarded plates quickly so we could fill up on more goodies. The biggest drawback was the 55 minute wait to be seated, in a line that wraps around the slot machines, surrounded by cigarette smoke. Since the price was so cheap, I didn't expect much, but I was so wrong. There were so many options, and I enjoyed almost all of them! Most of the staff were rude and put off if you needed to get food. There were no marked lines to get in for the food confusing many people who we saw. The manager rudely kicked us out of breakfast saying "they told you that you had to leave at 10:00 when you came in" when no one ever told us that we had to leave at a certain time she came in and accused us of making it impossible to clean with our presence and accusing us of knowingly staying in the restaurant when clearly we were not welcome... by the way this was the morning manager mind you. My experience would have been completely different if the manager kindly informed us that they close between breakfast and lunch. But instead she had to huff over and bark at us. The food is good for the price but my experience with the staff is why I will not be returning, as if they even care. read more

This is the better of the two choices for food at the Virgin River casino. The line was very, very long (it was Saturday night) but it was worth the wait for some hot food. The price was about $15 a person for the dinner buffet which includes crab legs. The crab legs are split in half for you already so you do not need to crack them open. My favorite food is crab, but I was a little disappointed with these crab legs. The drawn butter helps a whole ton if you decide to get them. My favorite part of the buffet was the potatoes, a lot of buffets use fake boxed potatoes but these were real and delicious. Service was good too, our waitress kept our drinks filled and our table cleared of plates. We will be returning in the morning for the brunch buffet. read more

There are so many complete losers that write reviews on here. Nothing is perfect. I have eaten here MANY times and if you know what to get it is better than anything I've seen in Las Vegas. Swordfish goes for $20/lb at the grocery store. If you look, it is frequently the "fish of the day" here. Eat all you want. It is excellent. They also have salmon and tilapia regularly. On Sunday, there is prime rib. I complained once that it reminded me of overdone pot roast. Since that time it has been made to perfection. Tell the server if you want it rare. I do and it is outstanding. Always go back for seconds. The salad bar is full of very healthful and extremely fresh items. Unfortunately, many of the customers here avoid it in deference to mega calorie options. Too many of the people here should not be eating at all. They are repulsively overweight and prefer to stack their overflowing plates with fatso food. Beached whales are in abundance here. There is also an outstanding choice of fresh fruit available. Cantaloupe, honeydew melon and fresh strawberries are always available. Outstanding! For breakfast, there is a chef waiting to custom make you an omelet. You get exactly what you ask for. Don't forget to tip him for his talent. Although not great every time, I have gotten some of the absolutely best wait service of anywhere I have ever eaten. The employees usually work as a team and help each other out. It is not unusual to have 3 or 4 different people picking up your plates, getting you more coffee, etc. They are genuinely interested in your enjoyment of the facility and they are some of the happiest wait people I have ever seen. They enjoy their work. Try to find that anywhere else. A rarity. I used to really like the buffet at the Silverton in Las Vegas. It has gotten much bigger, but the quality is way down. The buffets at the Station Casinos are OK, but what a bunch of really bland, tasteless food, that appears to have been sitting around for days. YUCK! For the price and when you know where to find the best stuff I would put the Sierra's Buffet at the Virgin River Hotel/Casino WAY ahead of most of the other popular places. Typical casino buffet. You have to walk through the smokey casino to get to the buffet. The fried chicken was too salty, the vegetables too buttery, the cherry cobbler too sweet. The salad bar was very good and has a wide selection. The service was a little slow, I had to go get a refill from the soda fountain. I paid the tip up front with the payment of the meal, but instead of giving you the cash, they give you a slip of paper which the seater takes and you have no choice on how much tip based on the service. This is a good buffet for the price. We went on Friday night for seafood. They do every other table for social distancing. And they have employees that will plate the food for you, you just tell them what you want. I appreciate that they make a solid effort at making the changes necessary to try and keep everyone safe while still feeding us tons of food and for what it is the food is great.
