This is a fabulous company with terrific employees. After encountering one too many black widows we knew we needed an expert. The front office kindly set us up with an appointment with Mike. Mike is wonderful, hard working, through and efficient. He went above and beyond to protect our family from the spiders. Call Sierra Pest Control to put down a vapor barrier in a home of less than 1300 ft.² , as well as clean up some debris underneath the house. The quote I requested was for 1300 sq ft. Vapor barrier and cleanup. I rounded to 1300 which is more than the actual square footage of 1278. The estimate I was given was $350-$400. When I got my billing I was shocked to see it was $500. I called and questioned why it cost an additional $100 to clean up the debris, when I was quoted that the cleanup and vapor barrier estimate was at $350-$400 total. I was not advised there would be an extra $100 on my bill for the cleanup. I was advised there was a hefty bag of wood scraps and cardboard but no explanation as to why I wasn't advised it was going to be $100 more or that the job was more extensive than anticipated. This is not what I would call good customer service when a quote is given and the cost ends up 25% more with no communication to the customer. One star is one star more than they deserve for what I consider a dishonest business practice. I did call back Sherry to discuss the billing and was given no explanation as to why I was not informed my estimate was 25% off or that the work was more extensive than first estimated. So basically, it was a "We're sorry we failed to inform you of the 25% increase in our services, but pay us the other 25% anyway." Lack of communication on your part should not cause a customer monetary loss. And no, I will not be giving you another opportunity to rip me off. read more

A few weeks ago, I had an ant problem in my kitchen and Angie got rid of them. Several days ago, I discovered ants in the master bathroom and also had been told by my guy that mows the grass that I had moles in the front yard. Mike, the mole/vole expert, told me that I had voles. He not only took care of the front yard but also checked the large backyard. He also found the source of the ants and treated it as well as went outside and treated it. All at a very reasonable cost. She arrived right on time. We chatted a bit then she started. She was thorough and professional, great job. No pests sighted since. Now part 2: just before our appointment I found out I would need a Pest Inspection for a VA refi loan. Called, made an appointment for a certified Inspector. This time I had to wait 10 days because he as so busy. Today was the inspection. Robert showed up perfectly on time. Extremely pleasant, professional and knowledgeable. Robert conducted the inspection in under an hour. He thoroughly explained what he was looking for and the process. He said my report will be ready tonight around 6. This was our first time using SPC. Tyson is such a nice, polite young man. He arrived early and did a very efficient job. This is the hottest day of the year so far and he still took his time and sprayed every nook and cranny inside and out. He let us know when he was finished and made sure to say good bye and ask if we wanted a copy of the report he gives the landlord. Known the father for years and he's just plain unpleasant. I would not recommend them one bit as I had to hire a better pest control company to get rid of my mothers ants in her house. My friend was scratching her head and I swear he looked at her like- what do you have bugs too? This was many years ago and they still bug me. I have a contract with Sierra Pest Control. They showed up for their monthly appointment ten days late, on a day when no one was home. They billed for several gallons of product, yet the ants are still there. If they cannot provide treatment when working people are home, on a schedule made by the customers not arbitrary scheduling, what good are they? Not only will I have to find a new provider, but I would not recommend Sierra Pest Control to anyone. At least if they were in business, you could expect they would answer their phone. Yes I will pay their bill, if I don't they will file litigation for Breach of Contract. It would be more effective to pay them off, and hire someone else instead of their workmanship. When I made initial appt. I described problem and was told cost would be $250ish. Technician came and had to do some extra work. Bill ended up to be over $400 for spraying for ants inside and outside, setting up bait for mice, patching a hole under cabinets, and a hole in a corner of a room. I thought it was a little excessive but was thankful to have found entry points for mice. Automatic Follow up appt was made to check traps and is included in initial price. Ants started showing up again in kitchen a few days later. Tech came in a week after first treatment and had to re bait for ants and charged us an extra $40. Called office and Tammy said that I was not supposed to be charged and voided the extra $40 charge. If I would not have called in I would have had to pay for a service I paid for already. Im giving 4 stars because of the office customer service as Tammy was helpful throughout the whole process. If I had to rate the tech guy only I would give 2 stars as I'm starting to question if the initial charges were valid or not. Lesson in this is to check invoice and question charges that are questionable. read more

They were very attentive and communicated well when I was scheduling an appointment and they were collecting my credit card information. But once I had questions about if the service was even really done correctly and the wrong charge appeared against my credit card, they would not return my messages or give me a call back. I'm really surprised at the pleasant experience we had with Sierra Pest Control. Mike B came out to do a mouse exclusion, and found all the entry points where mice were coming in quickly. After they did the exclusion, we still had mice a few days later, and when my wife called to follow up, they actually came back out to check their work, rather than just saying "give them a few more days to clear out." In fact, the exclusions were good, and the mice did disappear within the timeframe they gave us originally. I was really impressed that they followed up like this on such a small job. On top of this, Mike found we had substantial water under the house. We had a leaky pipe fixed, and so far have taken out nearly 400 gallons of standing water. This was not going to dry out on its own, so we were fortunate that he helped us understand the extent of the issue. read more

So..I contacted this company to help with a mouse problem in our new house. I made an appt for 9am. As I am pulling out of my driveway at 8:15am a Sierra Pest Control truck pulled into my driveway. The service man steps out, unshaven, and looking like he just woke up. I explain that he is early, and our appt was for 9am. He said, No my schedule says 8:15, I said I have to take my kids to school, our appt was for 9am! He then gets into his truck peals out of my driveway, while saying then reschedule! He was less then polite, and clearly did not have any idea of customer service! I called the company back, and left a voice mail letting them know what had happened. I waited 45 min, and called again! The operator was polite, amitted that they had made a scheduling error! But ....sorry they cannot reschedule me for another week! Thank god I did not pre pay this company! I do not recommend them, and would never consider using them based on their poor customer service! read more
