We used Yelp's Request A Quote to contact Orkin. We were initially happy to hear from them quickly but that faded as the call progressed. Orkin has a national reputation and I expected better service than we received. Instead of speaking to someone informed about the services and knowledgable about the local area, I received someone who was pleasant and friendly, but reciting a script with the desired outcome of signing me up for a year's worth of monthly services without ever assessing the actual problem. On top of that, the entire process of this call was extremely lengthy and to complete it and hang up, it required a lot of personal information, including a credit card so they could process payment after the tech did visit to assess! I called in specifically to address rodents in and around my home, something this company was founded upon, but what I was being sold were general pest control services on a recurring basis, and that was necessary to get someone out to my house to actually see what was happening firsthand. This type of sales tactic is doing a disservice to the consumer, the company, and the very technicians hired to service the clients and should be remedied ASAP. They come when you need them, take care of your pest problem, are reasonably priced, and don't try to upsell you into a service contract you might not need. A couple months ago, we called Orkin out to our house over mice infestations in the attic. They told us we would need new insulation but did not claim to see or know where any of the entry points were. We waited several weeks for a quote and what we got back was $42,000!!!!!!!! We feel as though we have been scammed, taken advantage of, and our time has been wasted while we could have been securing more reasonable quotes from other companies. I highly recommend to stay away from commercial companies such as this one and focus more on your smaller and more local pest companies. That pricing was absolutely disgusting and excessive. This pest control company is entirely unethical. They tried to sell us on them using sticky traps for the mice. When we were very firm with them about not using sticky traps, they put out a bunch of those poorly designed wooden snap traps (as opposed to the much more ethical and reusable enclosed snap traps or high force plastic snap traps). They also didn't place a lot of the traps flush to the wall, or with an obvious route for the mice to get a head-on kill. They set the traps less than one day ago, and I've already had several instances of mice crying after getting caught in the traps (until we had to kill them ourselves), and several more instances of me finding mice that had been struck on the side and lower body, that definitely also didn't die instantly. What can you expect from a company willing to use slow killing poison, sticky traps, and cheap primitive snap traps? Won't be using these people ever again. read more

Orkin is great but Jose is amazing! I've been using Orkin for years now because my husband hates ants and when he saw one (actually about 20) outside, he called immediately to massacre the infestation. Jose has been with us for years and he is diligent, thoughtful, and just a great person! I hope he never leaves because he is irreplaceable. I admit, we are needy clients when it comes to pests. Because of a bird feeder I put up over the summer we now have mice in our BBQ area and Jose has been more than helpful with getting rid of the mice for us. I had Orkin come out to do a spider check and John was so nice I ended up signing up for a years worth of preventative treatments. John did amazingly well with being around my 4 year old which is one of the most important things to me when I'm hiring people to work with or around our family. He watched every "WATCH THIS!" Without any signs of annoyance. Back to the bug business though, John explained the fees to me thoroughly and provided me with different payment plans. They have everything from a small monthly charge to a one time larger charge for which I chose the latter. I feel confident that Orkin and John will keep our home pest free. read more

Service technicians that come out are great but the communication from the office and scheduling are terrible! They no show/no call way too much! I spoke with the owner and he assured me he would rectify the problem but to date had not been resolved. Absolutely do not recommend this company! read more

I have been using Orkin's service for approximately a year now. This last visit in August 2022 was not only sub par but it showed that Orkin was not responsive to their client's needs and they proved to be unreliable. Our family have three small children and we would like to protect and to keep them as safe as possible. Unfortunately, our home gets inundated with black widow spiders. In August 2022, an Orkin representative came to service our home. We noticed he was sitting in his vehicle for 15 minutes prior to coming to our door. He then proceeded to "treat" our home against ants and spiders. After about spending approximately 5 to 10 minutes on our home he then hanged in his work truck for another 15 minutes afterwards. What was disappointing was that my wife and mother-in-law proceeded to kill a dozen or so black widow spiders the coming weeks. We of course called and Orkin proceeded to send another representative back out, but the other representative said there was nothing he can do until 30 days after the initial service. So we waited while killing further black widows around our home. After calling after the 30 day period, we were told someone would call the following business day and it would be noted to the area management. Of course no call, no further follow up from Orkin. Our family has felt like we have given them as much chances as we could and we tried to put our best foot forward. It doesn't feel like Orkin's desire to put their best foot forward has been reciprocated. It feels like big business that will take your money for minimal or useless services. read more

Of the 2, Orkin responded immediately & didn't waste my time, offered up a estimate & game plan on my 1st call. Orkin is all about professionals with lots of experience. Be very careful when you sign up for a year plan. I was told that if I sign up for one year, paying every other month for Orkin to come out, if I had any bug/ant issues after that year, Orkin would come out and spray for free, since all issues should be taken care of after a year of spraying. I verified and re-verified this information. Now that my year is up, Orkin wants to continue charging me every other month and that the original agreement is not an actual plan. Now to cancel, I still have to pay one more time, because they need at least 30 days for you to cancel. I haven't had any issues with ants, since I hired Orkin, so that part is good. If I could do it all over again, I would pay only when needed, or go with a less expensive company. read more

I have called 3-4 times talking to a new person each time and they all told me something different, so it was frustrating because I didn't know what was correct or incorrect information.
