These guys are amazing! I called because we have huge black wasps. Amy was very helpful and scheduled an appointment. Caleb was a little early which I was ok with. He sprayed my big oak tree and my bricks in the back because there were wasps in the bricks. We have not seen any wasps but he only did it a couple of days ago. If I could give this company zero stars I would. I've used this company for 18 years and recently have had horrible experiences. I had an ant problem that took them months and months to fix when they could have just came out and baited my home 1-2 times instead of me overpaying them for unnecessary sprayings. I have a spider problem as well which they can't seem to eradicate. I called the receptionist explaining that since the last treatment, the spider problem has not been resolved. I called within the 30 day guarantee which they don't follow. The receptionist Amy is always rude to me when I call but this time I called she was extremely rude, condescending and disrespectful telling me, "I don't know what to tell you" and "we've treated your place multiple times" condescendingly as if it was my fault that I still have a pest problem, not their fault for not being able to eradicate it. She said there is nothing they can do. She said they only sprayed the inside of my home last time for spiders which was not what I requested. I requested the inside and outside of my home to be sprayed so she got the order request wrong but blamed me again for the incorrect service request. Spraying the inside only for spiders who live outside is not a very impressive treatment plan for spider eradication to me. It was within the 30 day guarantee that I requested another treatment which I was denied of so they don't follow their own 30 day guarantee policy and wanted me to pay for it. Amy said that at the last treatment the technician told her that "I was just sitting on the bed". I said "excuse me?". As if I had done something wrong by sitting on my bed in my own home away from the walls and baseboards trying to stay out of the way so the technician could spray my home properly. It seems as though their technicians report what their customers/home owners are doing in their home while trying to treat the home. Be weary of what you are doing in your home if you choose this company as they report where you are sitting/standing/doing in your home while they are there. Be careful if you are sitting on your bed while they treat your home, it might upset them. I told Amy that when the technician left the last treatment, I saw spiderwebs still all over the outside of my home, Amy then interrupted me telling me that they never get rid of spider webs. On their website their spider control includes: "Knockdown and removal of webs." I asked to speak to the owner and Amy hung up on me. The owner April called me shortly after and did not apologize for Amy's rudeness or try to fix the problem. She said that they can come out and spray again but that they will need to charge me again. April said they cannot guarantee getting rid of spiders because I live in a condo. Their website states "Our Reno spider control team will create a personalized treatment plan to identify and eliminate all spiders from your space while taking preventative measures to keep them away for good", as well as "provide customized solution to ELIMINATE it''. So basically they cannot eradicate spider problems with anyone who lives in an apartment, condo or townhome. They also state on their website that they "take pride in treating our customers like family" which couldn't be farther from the truth. No apology from them not being able to rid me of my problem or the treatment I received from Amy. I mentioned to April that Amy told me that they don't get rid of spider webs and April said that is correct and that "they have NEVER gotten rid of spider webs". I told her that their website states that their spider control includes: "Knockdown and removal of webs." She was silent. I told April that I have been using her company for 18 years and that my family uses her services as well and that this kind of treatment is unacceptable. She just laughed at me. Very unprofessional, rude, doesn't follow their own company policy. I feel very used and taken advantage of for supporting this business for so long. Truly a local business, where the owner does the work. I won a certificate for exterior bug spraying to get rid of any nasty spiders. Richard Haas, the owner showed up right on time. Richard is a retired highway patrolman, worked for his dads business, then opened up Bonanza pest control in 1999. You can tell Richard is passionate about his work, he walked around the house before spraying, noted where there was webs and took care of them. I had to keep the pups in for an hour till everything was dry. Richard guarantees his work, if you are not happy or pests return, he will return no questions asked. A couple months ago I noticed a I had paper wasps in some of my air ducts and along the eves of the house around my front door. I've had an issue with wasps is the past and have used Bonanza Pest Control twice to take care of the problem. Overall I'd say their service was to be expected. The second time around resulted in the extermination of several hundred wasps that died inside my furnace, rendering it unusable, which cost me approximately $200 out of pocket. I never blamed Bonanza for that and consider it an unfortunate accident. They exterminated the wasps as agreed. The most recent service, however, was appalling all around. I called them to request a service on March 15th explaining my past history and that I wanted someone to come take care of the nests along the eves and check my attic as well, just to be sure. I knew that might be more expensive, but I have tenants and needed the problem resolved. They told me they didn't have any availability until April 28th. I was hesitant and considered calling another business given the 6 week wait, but was familiar with this business and decided to bite the bullet. We scheduled an appointment for April 28th between 2:30-3:30 pm. I immediately put the appointment on my schedule and requested the necessary time off work. Fast forward to April 27th. I noticed I had a voicemail (no missed call ever appeared, but that's not their fault) with a date/time stamp of April 26th at 3:03pm from April who left the following message: "Hi, this is April with Bonanza Pest Control and I am supposed to come out there Friday (April 28th) to take care of a wasp nest above the front door. I was calling to see if I can come and do that this afternoon? It is about 3:00 on Wednesday. My cell phone is xxx-xxxx. If you can give me a call back that would be great. Talk to you later. Bye." Given that I've noticed the message the day after it was left and the fact that the wasp nests were still along the eves by my front door. I figured our original appointment would still take place as I never had the chance to confirm her request. I wouldn't have been able to do that anyway as I wanted to be on site so she could check the eves in my backyard, which was locked as well as discuss how we could go about doing a thorough check in the attic to avoid the problem I had last time. Come the next day, I arrived home around 2:15pm and waited until 5:00pm and no one ever showed. Around May 3rd, I received an invoice for $40 indicating the service had been completed at 3:29 on April 26th, roughly 25 minutes after a April left the message ASKING if she could come by that day. I called Bonanza to discuss the issue as I still had wasp nests by my front door and my attic could not have been checked as no one was home. I believe that April showed up and took care of some nests, but my original request was not taken care of. Janice said she needed to call April to get "her side of the story" and that she would call me back. I received the following voicemail about 20 minutes later: "Hi Richard, this is Janice from Bonanza Pest Control. We're going to take care of that $40 bill for you and the next time you need pest-control, please don't call us. Thank you and have a great day." How very passive-aggressive of Janice! Fear not Bonanza... After no one showed up for our original appointment as agreed upon I had already called Terminex and arranged for an annual service. They came out last week and did a fantastic job! Long story short, you can find considerably better service elsewhere. Don't waste your time with these guys... read more

We were exposed to some bedbugs during an airbnb stay in Vegas and elected to have a precautionary treatment performed. Horrible experience due to totally ignorant office staff. Office staff instructed us to remove all contents of our home, just as if we were moving. They said to bag and box everything including contents of the kitchen cabinets. I questioned the instructions and spoke to a different person who gave me the same incorrect information. So we did exactly that spending hundreds of dollars, taking emergency leave from work/business, and working ourselves to near exhaustion to empty the house into a storage unit within a couple of days. When exterminator arrived she explained that all we should have done is strip the bed, empty out the contents of the dresser, and wash everything thoroughly. She admitted that it wasn't the first time office staff had given incorrect instructions. We still got charged full price. Had I totally screwed a client like that, I would have had the decency to at least offer a discount or just do the work for free. read more

We've had an ongoing gopher/vole problem in our yard. April came out and assured us it was a vole and put out the poison that would bring him to his demise. No luck. The little bugger dug up all over the place. Had April come out again and she said that it's probably not a vole, it's actually a gopher. Repeat the poison process. And again no luck. I've now paid them twice, and I've still got a critter. But I'm not pointing fingers; I just figure this is how it goes sometimes. The kicker is I called them two more times, left one message with the woman who answered the phone and left one message on voicemail or with a service, can't remember which, and I've never heard from them. Good riddance, I guess? But I've still gotta figure out how to get rid of the little Caddyshack critter and there aren't many services who deal with yard mammals. read more

But was really happy when I came home and my house was turned upside ...thought wow he really sprayed...but then I soon started seeing those little suckers again... UGG!!! But was told that's why they do it in two sprays...OK... The second time he came out we were already at work... But this time when I came home... My house was in tact... One of the nicest mom-pop businesses I have encountered in quite some time. Richard is a straight shooter and not interested in gimmicks or contracts. They charge you for the work done and recommend a schedule. This is the second house we have used them for and I would never move to any other company.
