When I set out in this backyard adventure, I had 12 different bids. We live in Spanish Springs…read more(Sparks). We narrowed the 12 to a final few. One of those was Creative Gardens. Creative Gardens has an actual retail store in Sparks so you can always find them. We dealt with the owner, CJ, who was very knowledgeable on designing a backyard. He listened to what we wanted and then produced a virtual reality model of it on a large screen right there in the office. He had the ability to make real time changes as we requested them. This is a family operated business with CJ being the 3rd generation owner. His mom is the office manager and his sister runs the retail operations of the store. From the minute we walked in the door, they put us at ease and made us feel very welcome. The fact that they could make real world changes on the computer sold us on going with them. It was that and how well they treated us from the moment we walked into the business. During the build we had multiple changes and additions. The field supervisor, Jeff, is awesome to work with and doesn't know the word "no". He always says "we can do that". Their work crews were also great. Their crew leader, Cruz, can build just about anything and runs a tight ship. We really couldn't be happier with our backyard and the relationships we built with the Creative Garden staff. They have our full support and recommendation for their work. Oh and they are priced very reasonably.

All was very reasonably priced! I was able to complete everything myself over the weekend, and both water features turned out awesome. Amanda's recommendations were extremely helpful, and the whole process went smoothly. I really appreciated the knowledgeable service and support, and I'm very happy with how everything looks. It was a great DIY project and the finished results look amazing in my backyard. Highly recommend, you should check it out!

We were passing through and looked up local Thrift Stores and this came up. Sounds like it is a…read morenew location and you can tell that it once was a grocery store. We walk in and was immediately greeted. Nice. The store is very open and clearly separated by department. Everything is neatly organized and the store is clean. I didn't see any broken items or messy areas. There is a clothing menu that is priced according to type and not necessarily the brand so that can be hit or miss. While browsing, we had another employee sincerely greet us as well. Very kind. I liked that there was not obnoxious music playing or too loud. It was normal and at a low level. Even though the store was somewhat sparse, we managed to buy 5 items. I assume that since they are new, still waiting for donations. Prices are fair and less than what Goodwill charges. The other ding is that the clothing racks and sizing are non-sensical. Typically you size your racks going left to right or clockwise. The size ring should be in front with the corresponding size to the right of it and THEN it should snake to the other side like a figure 8 until you reach the end. I could not figure out where my size was because it would be on the right of the ring in one aisle but on the left of it on the next aisle. It got so confusing that I gave up. They must not have a real merchandiser on staff? Anyway, it was an overall positive experience and all of the employees was truly pleasant and kind.

It's funny.. I can't even think of a favorite thrift store in the Reno/Sparks area because they're…read moreall different, but equally great. One thing about The Rock thrift store is that they have weekly sales and they actually really help out the community. For example the last time I was there I believe I saw a sign for free socks for those in need. This thrift store has more household items than they do clothes in my opinion. But, with the clothes they do have up for sale, it's all really dirt cheap and in great condition (barely worn). Everything in the store is actually (like another Yelper said) in tip top shape. The only thing that saddens me is that they close on Sundays and at 5pm on weekdays. POO!

I saw an elderly, gray haired employee walking my way and asked if he could point me towards the direction where this item would be. (location layouts differs for each store) I explained what I was looking for. The look this man gave me, pissed me off because he looked at me like I was dumb. He said there was no such thing and he'd never heard of such an item. I told him Lows carried them and that I had purchased them at another location. He proceeded to tell me that every location carried their own product. (How stupid did he think I was) he then asked me if I had an I number like it was my job to know it!! I thanked him (for nothing) and walked way. Found them in garden Ps. The other store was no better. The older, gray haired employees seem to get bothered when asked for help.

(See my previous review) I am updating my previous review because I got a call from a fellow Veteran that this Big R was now finally honoring their web site advertised Military / Veterans Discount. Off I went to verify. Lo and behold, they have a sandwich board outside the front door boasting of their Military / Veterans Discount. So, I went in, scored a free bag of popcorn at the door, was directed to the merchandise I wanted, went to pay where I presented my US Department of Defense Military Veterans id. I received a Veterans Discount. NO employee thanked me for my Service. I'm not sure they even know what a Veteran is beyond that I get a discount there, nor why we are important. https://pullingforveterans.org/blog/why-are-veterans-important/ PROS Building is old but was clean, neat and not cluttered. Selection was adequate for the type of store it is. Organized Customer service was adequate. Disabled-friendly as aisles were clear and wide enough making them easy and safe to traverse. By that I mean the isles were not filled up with encroaching merchandise, and that merchandise in the isles was stacked low enough that I could see traffic. In all fairness, so do big boxes The Home Depot and Lowe's. Not a hardware store (Ace Hardware was previously at this location). UNKNOWN Don't know about public restroom. Don't know about pet-friendly. I rate 'em 3 stars. According to Yelp ratings' definitions, that's "Ok". I added another star for their finally complying with their website boast of having a Military / Veterans Discount. A Military Veterans Discount is a token thank you and powerful gesture of earned respect to Veterans and GIs as it provides resource to ensure Veterans (rare 6% of the population) and GIs (rare one-half of one percent of the population) opportunity to participate in American Dream Veterans and GIs' sacrifices have made possible for 100% of the population. https://www.londonmiddlebury.com/blog-resources/the-history-strategy-behind-the-veteran-discount I'll be back.
