If you ever need inspiration for new lighting in your home, stop in and see the folks. I walked in to Statewide Lighting looking for a chandelier, to go over my dining room table, but I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted. So I browsed the store checking out all the beautiful lighting options and found a few I liked. The sales staff then showed me catalogs of lighting manufacturers for styles that I had liked in the store. Long story short, I found a beautiful chandelier and the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. P.S. I never realized how much a lighting fixture could completely change the look of a room. Just today I dropped by to get a new socket installed on my banker's light as the pull cord (chain) got kinda stuck and couldn't turn on/off easily so I had a repairman,Seth, install the new socket and BAM, out the door in less then 20 minutes! I feel I got a good repair done at a reasonable price! I would suggest coming here before throwing out that table/desk lamp. read more

Such an amazing store! The staff is friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. They have a large inventory and will quickly special order anything you need. I have been in my house for over two years but have never focused on the lighting, which has driven me crazy as the house doesn't have a lot of natural light and the ceiling lights are dim and poorly placed. I was in this shop on Saturday and was blown away by the selection. I made a mental "want" list for my bathroom, bedroom and kitchen. Today I realized that, working from home in my dim office, I need more light! A friend told me about the cool JOEY VEGA "Steam Punk" lighting displayed at Statewide. I was greeted nicely by the young store reps when I entered the store that had plenty of free parking. They have a variety of trendy to traditional fixtures as well as the local artists displays. I worked in a Trappist Cistercian Monastery that had a World War One monk named Fr. Cpt. Denis Murphy. We have been coming here for almost 20 years and I am just now getting around to writing a review! We originally got to work the wonderful people at Statewide Lighting when we were building our house and needed to get all the lighting fixtures both inside and out. They worked with us through multiple sessions and helped us find the fixtures that we truly loved and served us well all these years. When we needed replacement parts, they have been very accommodating over the years helping us locate what we needed. We have been back in a number of times for small items and upgrades. What has always impressed us was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I also like the huge variety and quality of fixtures that range from traditional to modern. And if they don't have it, they can get it. I am notorious for "i kind of like this but do you have something that is a bit like this?" and they pull out books and help me find it. Now we will be looking to replace some fixtures in our new home here in Reno. Going from a traditional, Victorian style house to a sleek modern condo gives us an opportunity to look for something completely different. I know just were we will go to find what we need. read more

Walked in 10 minutes before closing knowing exactly what lampshade we needed. We were immediately greeted with "were trying to close in five minutes, not trying to be a jerk, but I have an hour drive home so I guess I am being a jerk." Told them we'd hurry, got the lampshade we wanted, and we're walking out of the lampshade room when the same lady walked in and told us that there was plenty of other options to choose from and that we should just come back later with our lamp. I had the $50 lampshade in my hand with 5 minutes left before they closed, but she told us that wasn't the one we wanted. Left and will not be going back. read more

Very, very impressed by my experience with Statewide. Purchased some track lights, a hanging light for our foyer, and two LED reading lamps about three years ago. No issues with the first two products, but one of the two LED lamps failed within a month of purchase. There is where the long story begins-- I went by Statewide and told them what happened, and they gladly provided me with a new diode, no questions asked. Unfortunately, the manufacturer of the lamp had changed the size of the diode in the mean time and it did not work. I kind of forgot about the whole thing and we moved away for a couple of years, leaving the lights to gather dust. Recently moved back into our Reno home, and decided (almost 3 years later) to see if Statewide could get my lamps working. Rather than screw around with new diodes, the folks at Statewide called the manufacturer and got me two brand new lamps under warranty! No questions, no attitude about the timing. We ordered a ceiling fan and 3 lights and it's been nothing but a headache. Everything but the fan was back ordered and we ordered the lights because they were the same shape (2 pendants and one dining room light. ) We ended up cancelling the pendants because the time frame was way to long. We waited to get the dining room light because we liked it only for it to be the wrong color when it finally arrived!!!! We have now waited another month only for them to say they don't have an answer and it could be May before it arrives. I have had to call to get updates and was even told by the owners daughter after I complained to go ahead and write a negative review we have been in business for over 40 years. Anyway we love the fan hate the service and lack of carrying, they should be incredibly embarrassed! read more

Initially I was going to write a not so happy review. I went in and the young lady working was completely not helpful and seriously had no clue what she was talking about. I went back a couple days later and the gentleman that was working LISTENED to what I was looking for AND what my budget was. We found the PERFECT chandelier for our kitchen and lighting for our hallway. I did price compare and their prices were better than all the prices I found online. I am really glad that I went back. Each time I have entered this store someone is greets me and ready to assist. They do not bug you if you are just looking. Having been in this store many times over the years it pretty much stays the same. They have a bunch to choose from but it is all very much middle of the road, nothing unusual or stand out wow. Being a smaller lighting store, I expected their prices to be very expensive, but each time I've purchased a lighting fixture from them I've checked online as well and they have been 10-15% less than any other online retailer. They're not Home Depot or Lowes prices, but they're also not Home Depot or Lowes lights. If you're looking for unique lighting and a super helpful staff, they are the place to go. read more
