This spot started out as a food truck, and they opened up this location a few years ago. The place is small but nicely decorated with cool artwork displayed on the walls. There are a few stools if you want to eat in, but mostly is a takeout place. I've tried out their tacos and homemade quesadillas, and the food here is pretty flavorful. On my last visit, I ordered the chicken quesadilla. It was stuffed with chicken and a good amount of cheese. The service is fast and efficient, and food is usually ready pretty quickly. I ordered Sidewalk Tacos on Doordash because it was one of the only taco places near me that had lengua on the menu. Who knew lengua was going to be so hard to find?! I ordered the carne asada, carnitas, lengua, and Al pastor tacos and was pleasantly surprised at the tenderness of the lengua. However, the carne asada and the Al pastor tacos were disappointing as they were very dry and overcooked. Tacos are made on double corn tortillas which taste super fresh and authentic. My favorite was the lengua (beef tongue) followed by the al pastor and then the carne asada. This was delivery through Uber eats. I got a carnitas (steak) taco and a spicy pork with pineapple taco. Both 3.50 to 4.00 each. Fairly good flavors, but I prefer my stuff a little spicier. Also got the gringas quesadilla (Oaxaca cheese, al pastor meat, Jack cheese, onion). I loved the gently browned, crispy tortilla. And the guac was mild, could've used a little seasoning, but I know it's hard to meet different tastes. I had been craving tacos all week. I thought seeing this taco truck was going to be the highlight of my day... until I got home to no salsa on my tacos after purchasing from the truck on the corner just before 99th. Did they maybe run out of salsa and just didn't say anything? Was I supposed to know to ask for salsa as a first-time customer? Me personally, as someone who has had countless taco truck experiences in my New York City life, all I know is that the small salsa verde and/or salsa roja sauce cups come with the tacos or you will at least be asked you if you want to purchase salsa at an additional charge. Not here. My, how nice the lady was who took my order! The tacos were $3 each and they don't even charge extra for steak-- all tacos are created equal here-- I love that! I really admire the diversity of the main dishes but they failed to be inclusive of salsa. How did the un-salsafied tacos taste? Like peanut butter with no jelly. Like salad with no dressing. Like a bird with no wings... you get the picture. Decent by itself but you can taste that something was missing to make it spectacular. The meat wasn't juicy enough to be abandoned by sauce. The food here is really good! I ordered the chicken burrito and it was filled with a great blend of grilled chicken, rice, pico de gallo, lettuce, and cheese.
