Really great tacos and really great price! I particularly loved their atmosphere inside even though there was limited seating. They also have nice carry out containers that make eating easy. Loved the location too!

    Birria Burrito

I was super excited to try this place because of the great reviews. My birria burrito was inedible because the birria was 100% fat. See attached photo. Super bummed and disappointed.

These tacos hit the spot. The balance of flavors was just right, and the ingredients tasted super fresh. The salsa had a great kick without being overpowering. The portion was just right for a satisfying meal. Will definitely be back.

This spot started out as a food truck, and they opened up this location a few years ago. The place is small but nicely decorated with cool artwork displayed on the walls. There are a few stools if you want to eat in, but mostly is a takeout place. I've tried out their tacos and homemade quesadillas, and the food here is pretty flavorful. On my last visit, I ordered the chicken quesadilla. It was stuffed with chicken and a good amount of cheese. The service is fast and efficient, and food is usually ready pretty quickly. The prices are very reasonable. If you're in the mood for good Mexican food, I would definitely recommend it.

It's a small hole in the wall kind of place, with a welcoming atmosphere. We ordered three types of tacos: Asada, carnitas and chicken. They were absolutely delicious. And the tomatillo sauce and chili sauce was yummy. The lady behind the counter had a smile and was helpful and friendly. If I'm ever back in that area, I will definitely go again.

I've been waiting for the right time to try this new truck that showed up to the Washington Heights a couple weeks ago. I must say that I am pleasantly surprised and happy as I'm eating right now. I had the birria tacos that were great. The meat was not salty as some others I've had. From order to getting my order it only took about 8 minutes and were very friendly and accommodating.

Small delicious taco place. They have a few high top chairs inside to enjoy your food but wouldn't recommend bring a large group to dine in here. Tacos are made on double corn tortillas which taste super fresh and authentic. My favorite was the lengua (beef tongue) followed by the al pastor and then the carne asada. All of the meat was tender but could have been more flavorful. Some friends got the cemitas which is basically a Mexican sandwich on a sesame roll and enjoyed them.

This was delivery through Uber eats. I got a carnitas (steak) taco and a spicy pork with pineapple taco. Both 3.50 to 4.00 each. Fairly good flavors, but I prefer my stuff a little spicier. Also got the gringas quesadilla (Oaxaca cheese, al pastor meat, Jack cheese, onion). I loved the gently browned, crispy tortilla. And the guac was mild, could've used a little seasoning, but I know it's hard to meet different tastes. Lots of staples--tacos, burritos, fajitas, quesadillas, all seemingly authentic and reasonably priced. Would definitely try again.

Really really good tacos and flautas Highly recommend the Al Pastor tacos w pineapple, the cheese flautas and the CHURROS are fantastic. Chips and guac are also great I grew up in Northern California so I can be picky about my Mexican food. Sidewalk tacos is the best!

This is sub par Mexican, the food could improve. It taste like you made it yourself so why should I pay over $14 for a plate?

And if you haven't had Birria-Landia or birria in general, well, you'll probably still like them! Casa Birria is a simple food truck with a simple menu of just a few items. I noticed they have a few meat options but assuming you eat beef, you of course have to get the birria (slow-cooked beef in a slightly spicy and indulgent broth). It comes in multiple vehicles which are all basically some configuration of tortilla, onions, cilantro, meat, and sometimes cheese depending on what you pick. The taco is the classic and the $12 taco combo is a nice deal, though as a smaller eater and cheese-lover, I personally go for a couple of mulitas. Juicy meat with a bit of heat, melty cheese, and legit corn tortillas soaked in that delicious broth, what's not to love? The truck is open pretty late, has fast straightforward service, and like any truck does not have seating so you have to either eat on the sidewalk or have a place in mind to bring it; there is a park a few blocks up. Definitely cheaper than most meals in this part of the city and I'd be a regular if I lived close by!

*Clarification : This is for the new, yellow Uncle Luoyang food truck…read more It pains me to write a poor review for Uncle Luoyang, especially since it was one of the first of the Chinese food trucks to bring palatable, cheap food to campus. I've been to the original truck several times and the owner has always been kind and fast. So, when I noticed that Uncle Luoyang had a newer, snazzier truck, I was excited and happy for the owner. And when I noticed that the line was far shorter than the ones for the other trucks, I was excited for me. Perhaps that should've been my first clue that the new truck was not as good as the decor would make it seem. When I ordered in English, it took a few confusing minutes before the woman understood my order. This isn't surprising or too much of a negative, but I just thought I'd mention for those who can't speak Mandarin. I ordered my usual, the pork burger. It took less than the time for me to pull out my wallet for the food to be ready. Rather than coming in the wax paper envelope Uncle Luoyang and neighboring trucks have used in the past, it came wrapped up in foil. The "burger" seemed painfully thin and I became a little suspicious that the fancy new digs meant a decrease in portion of offset business costs. When I opened up the foil, these suspicions were not only verified, but were exceeded in appalling levels. The bun had less than a quarter of the portion of meat I had received from the old truck. There was not even enough pork to cover all of the bun in a single layer. The pork itself was deliciously flavored, but lacking the wonderfully unctuous fatty portions that lend moisture to the burger. As a result, the burger fell flat and left my mouth dry from too much bun. The only plus side is that if you're looking for bread, it seems the bun is thicker than ever. Just don't order the pork burger expecting any pork.

For skewers ($1 each), you have the choice of: - chicken - beef - lamb He will ask you if you want "spice" added to your skewers for extra flavor. The wait time is about 2 -3 minutes if there is no line. 2. "Lunch special" is often available from noon until 3 or 4pm. $5. This is served immediately and no wait time. You have the choices of - chicken (with winter melon, carrot, vermicelli) over rice - beef (with winter melon, carrot, vermicelli) over rice - eggs and tomatoes over rice Again, your choice of adding "spice" to the food. This is a pretty good deal. Note: the menu may say it has potatoes in the rice dish, but that is not true. 3. Noodles ($5), again two choices: - hot noodles (a typical traditional Chinese home-made noodles) - cold skin noodles (the dish comes with a small bag of hot sauce for flavor) 4. Pork burger, $3. This is really good. About 3 - 5 minutes wait time if no line. 5. Chicken fries: I think this is similar to Taiwanese Popcorn Chicken, but I have never tried to it so I can't comment on this. These 5 items listed above are available daily. There are some other items such as dumplings, hot & sour soup (listed as hot & spicy soup), and Xi'an Hu La Tang Soup (listed as Spicy soup) may not be available every day. You are better off to choose any of the items from the list above. Of course, this place is cash only.

Friendly, attentive, and professional. Truly a standout. While the food was tasty, I couldn't help but feel the prices didn't align with the portion sizes or overall value. Let's be honest most ingredients in Mexican cuisine are relatively inexpensive (except maybe the avocado), so $16 for two tacos with barely a teaspoon of chicken or beef feels excessive. Just two blocks away on Broadway, there's another fantastic Mexican spot offering generous portions at a much more reasonable price point. Unfortunately, this felt like price gouging, and I won't be returning. Great service can't make up for what feels like taking advantage of customers.
