The food is just your typical greasy hamburger and chicken wings menu, only it takes them forever to prepare it, and they're just as likely to get it wrong as right. Tonight while I waited over half an hour for my takeout order, I watched people get the wrong order several times. If you walk in and there's a line and they look busy, just don't bother. This is when they screw up the most -- when it takes the longest. Also, they are very inconsistent about how they deliver -- or don't -- the food to the tables. Sometimes they just yell it out inside one of the ordering windows and sometimes they take the tray out and look for the little plastic number they've given you -- and other times, even when they said they will, they don't. Also, don't go when they're busy if you don't like noise and you don't like children running around. This place used to be really, really good under the previous management. This place is a cool outdoor seating restaurant. The staff was friendly as they waited for us to order. They play Bay Area music which I really enjoyed, definitely a fun place. The hyphy chicken sandwich was super good and highly recommend. It's a little spicy. After trying the sandwich, I was almost sad I chose a grilled chicken salad trying to be all healthy but the salad so amazing. Very herby and lots of texture, I used both dressings I liked them. We have been trying to come to sideshow for the past 2 years but unfortunately we kept messing up the times and the days they were closed but finally, FINALLY we made it! We are so happy to report we were not disappointed in the least! Food was delicious, the service was impeccable especially for a small outside hole in the wall vibe type of place. Staff was so friendly and helped with recommending items. And honestly it was super clean outside and the restroom too which had a lot of character just like the establishment. The cheeseburger had gray flavors. Unfortunately my chicken sandwich seemed a little unseasoned in comparison but it didn't stop me from finishing it. The pics from the owner on Yelp was a bit deceiving because it ain't that much cheese and sauce on the burger. I knew they had to be good because my Door Dash orders kept getting stolen lol. Wow! Hyphy chicken sandwich - large, juicy stacked chicken, lightly crispy batter and slightly sweet and spicy sauce that I wish was more prominent. The deep fried jalapeño in there though that is what makes it though! First time here! Local hangout ! I thought this was in Berkley! Tucked on a street corner, I will never found this if it wasn't for my friend who live near by, its on it's own on this corner so you have to plan to come here to get here otherwise you wont find it. You order at the counter from the board, they have a couple of crazy looking burgers. The seating is on a patio so it will be cold on a cold day, there is no indoor seating. The burgers were very nice cooked medium rare and Juicy. The fries are a big hit for me very nicely made and tasty and fresh, step up from IN-N-OUT differnt style, loved it. I sampled the kids burger and it was literally no seasoning I will attribute it to being because it's for kids but it was so charred my daughter wouldn't eat it. The fries were pretty standard frozen fries, basic seasoning on them but lack luster. The garlic fries were okay, same fried with a scoop of garlic on them. Basic, The wings were nice and crispy but lacked lots of flavor. The flavor comes from the lemon pepper and buffalo that you have to keep tossing after every bite because the wing inside itself was not seasoned. What a perfect place to go when you're craving a burger and fries! I came to Sideshow Kitchen on a sunny day for lunch. Their seating is all outdoors but it is all covered overhead. It is also dog friendly, and I loved seeing all the dogs roaming around with their owners!! I ordered the Sideshow burger (which comes with fries) and a dozen wings (half buffalo jerk, half lemon pepper). Everything was amazing. I hardly ever leave 5 stars however, this place deserves all the stars! My husband has been raving about this place so he finally dragged me along and I'm happy he did. When we arrived it was on the corner and you walk up to the register to order from outside, the guy taking the order was very serious and direct but it was something pleasant about him. I ordered the salmon burger with the raspberry pineapple lemonade and fries. My husband ordered the sideshow burger with wings and fries. We sat down outside in a fenced in area and they brought our food to us when it was ready. The presentation of the burgers is beautiful okay, once I took a bite of my burger I was in heaven, the texture, the flavor even the coleslaw and I hate coleslaw but I ate it that day and it was delicious. My husband said it was the best burger he has ever tasted lol. The wings were very good, it had a spicy after taste which I loved. The lemonades were alright, only because I wanted more raspberry flavor then pineapple flavor but it was still good. Bonus! We had the fried chicken sandwich, Tennessee honey-hot wings, regular fries and cheese fries. The sandwich is large and delicious, with a (cilantro?) sauce. The wings are beautifully cooked, crispy on the outside and tender inside. The Tennessee sauce has a lovely heat, more than my partner likes but I'd call it a medium heat. It comes with a delish garlic sauce. If I were having only a snack of fries, I'd get the cheese fries, with their two sauces. As a side, I preferred their perfect regular fries--crispy outside, creamy inside, nicely salted. They were also great for dipping in the extra Tennessee & garlic sauces. My only complaint? As a California-based burger business, complying with the standards of optimum health options would undoubtedly pull customers out of the marketing synopsis. People who consume red meat as a whole have no idea where the source comes from. People who eat organically grown red meat are conscious of its resources and support sustained agriculture that works for the planet and not against it. It also brings about a certain level of consciousness to the dining experience. Suppose you want to be the best in this business; you have to follow the pathway that makes you universal. While this spot is making waves after 5 + years, they still have not realized their true potential. True potential begins with what you consume and ultimately ends with what is left over. I don't really write Yelp reviews, but am hoping that a manager sees this and can advise a course correct. I live in the neighborhood and have been coming since it opened in 2017. Often have raved about it as the best burger in Oakland. It seems like this place is slipping. The past few dine-in visits have been disappointing. I've gotten my burger/fries and both have been lukewarm, like I got them and then drove 15 minutes home. Not like the kitchen was 10 feet away and allegedly made them to order. I don't think asking for piping hot food should be too hard to remedy. Maybe the fries need to be made in smaller batches or something, but there should be a pretty clear fix to this. Maybe their energy and attention is going to their new smash burger location on San Pablo. It seems like this place is heading the way of a lot of initially successful restaurants, but settling at average is tragic when the first 5 years were so stunning. read more

It's been a minute since coming to my favorite spot in The Bay (or anywhere near The Bay for that matter), and they made a few changes in some of the food items, and layout, and it is even better. I got a hyphy fried chicken sandwich with fries, at the window was a written special called the munchies it included a 4 piece wing with fries. Lemon pepper of course. We also ordered Oreo shakes. We took a seat enjoyed the music. Our order was up grabbed our food and headed back to the dmv. The fries were pretty good. Lightly seasoned. I bit into my sandwich and it was loaded with flavor, it was a really good chicken sandwich with just the right amount of spice. The ms liked her wings, they weren't as crispy as she preferred but that was because it steamed in the box. We squeezed the included lemon wedge on it. an instant lemon kick was given, they were good nonetheless. The star of the show for us was the shakes. The first time I went here I stood in line for 15 minutes and when I got to the front of the line they tell me they're not taking anymore orders for another 10-15 minutes because they're behind! I didn't get any food that visit. The second time I visited I was able to place an order soon after getting in line and the food came out within 15 minutes. We tried the hyphy fried chicken sandwich and the chicken wings. The sandwich was soooo greasy. After holding the sandwich for the first bite the bun was essentially flat and soaked through in grease. I opened the sandwich up to shed some of the fried breading in an attempt to allow me to finish the sandwich. No luck - just too greasy! The wings were not my style at best, potentially not completely cooked. They definitely weren't fried, they were boiled so the skin was slimy/oily and super thick. We had to rip the skin off, and thus the sauce, to make them edible. Disgusting. Oh and after the little bit that I ate I had instant heartburn. It's so bad I'm still suffering almost a week later and taking Prilosec daily to remedy the issue. Not sure how this place is in business read more

Great neighborhood spot. Covered patio seating. Friendly counter service. I had the MexiCali burger with pepper Jack cheese, avocado, grilled jalapeno, and l/t/o. The burger is thin but flavorful. The toppings were fresh and ample. I really enjoyed it. I would probably order a double to get more burger taste. The fries were crispy with a dusting of a Cajun seasoning. These are great especially with a cold beer. With a decent variety of 6-8 beers on tap, this is a great place to hang out with friends to enjoy a casual lunch. My only constructive criticism is that their beer is not cold enough. They should turn down their beer fridge 10 degrees colder or get their beer fridge serviced to perform better. read more

Stopped by the side show yesterday to grab myself some lunch while I was making a run to my kids school on my lunch break I ordered there side show burger meal and upgraded to there garlic fries I did the online ordering trying to be efficient but I did t realize how busy of a place this is. I will just say if you are trying f to come by during the lunch rush be sure to order early and check your food before you leave the counter they are moving so fast they may over look something (they gave me regular fries but like I said I upgraded to garlic fries). Food was super flavorful and fresh so I will be making my way back to the show but I will try to avoid the lunch rush next time read more
