Their grilled wings. Plated at home.
D.wight L.

Carlyle's is a small town home grown business that sells nothing but wings...but in its own unique way. Sure dozens of places fry their wings, toss em in a trendy sauce to fit the month. Not here, they slow grill their wings in an enclosed gas grill. So it bakes but over live fire. I didn't taste any wood smoke so that's where I made an association with a gas grill method. They first marinade the wings in some rub. They call it a Cajun rub but to me it is a simple salty/very slight spice rub. Not as peppery as a blackened rub but maybe they cut their blend. But the seasoning totally penetrates the wings, not just on the exterior. Then it is slow grilled so the wings stays pretty juicy but does have a noticeable grill/bbq flavor. Not smoky but grill flavor, there is a difference. Some wings get more char, so as you eat multiples, there can be a nice mix of flavors and textures. It is a tad too salty for me so 3-4 wings is plenty for a sitting. But to pair with some steamed rice at home and a quick salad or slaw is a pretty solid meal in my book. They also offer several sauces that they can toss your wings in or get the sauce on the side. I prefer it on the side as I like a light drizzle over a saturation so I can still taste and feel the grill effects. I'm not sure what I received but I'm assuming it is the Louisiana Hot Honey. It is a very well made wing sauce, not just Franks Red Hot Sauce straight out of a bottle. This sauce has a silky emulsified texture, tang and heat from the base hot sauce and then just a touch of sweetness to balance everything out. Delicious in tandem with the grilled char that's achieved in the wings. The place is super bare bones not sure if they are still working on it. But I've always felt that if a place commits to a brick n mortar space then they should take the effort in creating a space that ties to their concept. They don't have that here and think they should. I'll be rooting for them and in the meantime I'll be grabbing some wings anytime I'm in the area.

Located in Jack London Square this new wing spot is a must!!! The wings were grilled to perfection. Tasted like something you'll only find at a BBQ!!! He let us sample the Cajun rub which was our favorite so we got 35 of those with the three other sauces on the side to tip in. The BBQ was my favorite and the BBQ + LLH was my boyfriend's favorite. You can dip it in the sauce or they give you boats/plates to pour on top. Either way it's amazing!!! The chicken wings were big, juicy and they cook it to a certain temp that gives the wings the perfect char you have ever tasted in your life!! Pricing was very reasonable and you get a lot for your money!! They're still opening and just got their liquor license so we are looking forward to coming back to grab some beers and watch a game with the view of the marina and water!! This place is such a vibe!!

I'm so excited to have a wings spot in Jack London Square! The location is currently pretty bare, but you can see the promise. When we walked in, the staff greeted us and were helpful in giving insight on the flavors. We got 15 wings with the hot honey BBQ mix. They have plenty of sauce to keep dipping between bites and the wings were fresh off the grill. We ate outside and enjoyed the waterfront. I hope they come out with a few more flavors as they establish themselves, but they're solid wings in a great spot!

I came across Carlyle's offering free samples at the Farmers market in Jack London on Sunday's. I was so happy to see a brick and mortar open up officially in Jack London a few weeks after that sample. My first time back I ordered the Louisiana Hot wings and was not disappointed. The wings were well seasoned, fresh off the grill and a great size. The owner is warm and friendly, with big plans to continue expanding the menu. I'm looking forward trying more flavors and dishes!

The wings are absolutely delicious, but what touched my soul even more was hearing the owner's inspiration for starting this business. His story, his love for his family, and the kindness of his father truly touched my heart. He is an amazing spokesman for his wings, and you can feel the passion and heart behind what he does. The Cajun rub is my personal favorite--it's flavorful, delicious, and honestly, that wing is therapy for my soul! Please support this business. You're not just supporting great food; you're supporting a dream, a family, and someone who is putting genuine heart into his community. Give them a try--you won't regret it!

You know it's serious when one bite at the farmers market turns into an instant craving! Tried Carlyle's chicken wings on a whim and got completely hooked. The dry rub flavor is absolutely delicious, the wings are perfectly crispy, and honestly... the price makes it even better. Sometimes the best finds are the ones you weren't even planning on! If you see them, don't think twice... just get the wings. Even without sauce they are finger lickin' good!

Legit grilling char

"Carlyle's Chicken Wings" at the Adeline Food Hall is serving up delicious BBQ chicken wings! They were offering a 25%-off discount on Doordash to try their wings, so I ordered a batch of 15-wings. They arrived hot, as if they just came off the grill. All the wings and little drums were soaking in a rich sweet bbq sauce. The wings were slightly charred, and had that bbq aroma. These chicken wings are legit! Look at my photos, that's bbq chicken! Carlyle's Chicken Wings at 5333 Adeline St is a ghost kitchen. Delivery or Pickup only.

Met the owner walking in Jack London on the way to lunch reservations and he was so sweet! Offered us free samples of the wings and they were bomb! I will deff be back to order a full meal. The staff was very nice and welcoming. They are newly opened and still need to do a bit of decorating, but the wings are a hit.

Amazing chicken wings for a great price- around $1 a wing. They marinate the wings in a peppery seasoning that gives you a little zing without upsetting the stomach. Juicy, fully cooked to the bone. Perfect. No extra sauce needed. The aunt does the main cashier front and the nephew is the grill master behind all of the genius. They are both always kind and friendly. I would make an order and go shop at the Tracy Farmers Market while waiting if it's a large order

Well seasoned and because it's chopped into smaller pieces, helps chew through the tough bites Pollo 4.5/5 This caught me by surprise because it tasted almost like carnitas. The chicken is grilled but it had the texture of a carnita. It was crispy, tender and very juicy. Nicely seasoned. This became one of my favorite meats Cabeza 4.5/5 Nicely seasoned and super tender. Drinks 4/5 Agua frescas are good but are mostly on the sweeter side. My favorite is the cucumber lime because it's very refreshing. Sauces 3.5/5 I think the sauces are okay because it's slightly watered down for me. But it's still good on the tacos. Condiments 5/5 It's self serve but they're not stingy with the amount you need or want for your meal. Great selection from grilled onions and jalapeno, green and red salsa, lime, cucumber, and radish. Ambience 4/5 It's dining outside of a questionable area but there's plenty of tables and parking if it's not busy. Service 5/5 Not much to say and idk how to rate this but basically my interactions are from ordering and self pick up, and self serving my own condiments and napkins. Staff are friendly and quick with timing

DON'T EAT AT THIS PLACE!!!!…read more I used to love this place. However, the burrito I got last week ago gave me severe food poisoning. This place should not be serving food without a health inspection.

I love when taco spots include them; they're the perfect little addition to the tacos. The salsas were great too, especially the red salsa. It has that delicious roasted flavor that I really liked and added a nice kick to the tacos. Although... tacos are getting SO expensive these days! It's honestly crazy to think about how much tacos are going for now compared to what they used to cost. Still worth trying if you're craving some good street tacos! What I love about buying street tacos in the town - you get a little bag of pickled jalapeños/carrots (they also cut fresh carrot slices that get pickled too, it cuts the grease from the meat!) For parking, there's a small parking lot right next to the taco truck. I ended up parking in the grocery store parking lot directly across the street, which was pretty convenient too. While I was waiting, I did not expect to get rizzed up by an elderly man selling ice cream - typical day in the day.

I really enjoyed the creamy orange sauce. $5.75 a taco may seem a bit much, but at least the taco size and quality justifies the price. I also ordered the smaller size of ceviche for $15. It came with 2 large round tortilla chips (not sure what these are called) and a packet of saltine crackers. I feel like a bag of tortilla chips would have gone nicely with the ceviche because I ran out of the 2 large chips and crackers before I finished the ceviche. The ceviche itself was perfect. Their spinach pineapple agua fresca was refreshing and reminded me of those Odwalla green smoothies. You do taste the spinach but it's sweet and tastes good!
