There is a restroom where you can wash your hands, but it requires a key, so bringing hand sanitizer or wet wipes may be helpful. Overall, the burgers are definitely on the pricier side, but I thought the quality justified it. I'd happily come back again.

What I don't understand is why I'm charged an additional $2.50 for the lettuce wrap when I'm not even getting the bun. If you're taking something away, what's the justification for adding an extra charge? I could understand a modest upcharge, but $2.50 for a few leaves of lettuce is hard to justify. I can buy an entire head of lettuce for about that price. What bothered me even more was that no one mentioned the charge when I placed my order. It wasn't until I picked up my food and saw the receipt that I realized I had been charged extra. Customers deserve to know about additional charges before they order, not after the fact. When I politely asked why there was a $2.50 charge, the employee simply looked at me and said, "I don't know." There was no explanation, no offer to ask someone else, and no attempt to address a perfectly reasonable question. That level of customer service was just as disappointing as the surprise charge. The burger was excellent, but this experience left a bad taste in my mouth. At this point, I don't plan on coming back. Or maybe I'll just bring my own lettuce next time. Better yet, just give me the burger without the bun, and I'll wrap the damn thing myself when I get home.

Since moving to the neighborhood earlier this year, I have walked past TrueBurger quite a few times on my way to/from the 19th Street BART Station, and I was excited to give it a try. I was initially thinking I would get a burger, but my friend had to postpone getting together until the mid-afternoon, so I ate lunch at home and opted for a milkshake when we met a couple hours later. I had seen a special coconut shake on the menu on the TrueBurger website; I'm a big fan of most things coconut, and especially ice cream. I was eager to taste the shake...and my excitement quickly turned to disappointment when I realized it was just a vanilla shake with shredded coconut. Why is TrueBurger trying to pass this off as a coconut shake? It's far less novel, but it's perfectly acceptable to only offer vanilla and chocolate shakes. The mix-ins actually put them one step ahead of much of the competition, but misleading customers is never okay. To add insult to injury, I have tried reaching out to TrueBurger via email, and management is incredibly unresponsive. They could have easily fixed this by offering me a refund or asking me to come back in for a shake on the house. Do better, TrueBurger.

From the menu we saw they were out of beef ribs, smoked chicken, rib tips, no peach cobbler, no banana pudding and no kool aid. I come for their brisket and my friend loves ribs so we went ahead and ordered combo plates to share. Mine was the brisket with a side of collard greens, she had the pork ribs, a hotlink with a side of Mac-n-cheese, & cornbread. For drinks we had lemonade and an Arnold Palmer. I'm not sure what has happened over the last few months but the quality of the food, the service and the expectation to pay and tip up front were very disappointing. The greens, Mac cheese, brisket and ribs were cold. The hotlink wasn't BBQ'ed it was pan fried. Everything tasted like warmed up leftovers and we will not return. For 2 of us to eat it came to $100 and we were not satisfied. The dining room is an attractive space, it was completely empty. The staff was unclear about what we ordered, had to be told to bring our drinks, bartender is also working as server and apologized for his uncertainty. I suggest this restaurant hire and train more staff if they intend to keep their doors open.

Tonight, we took a group of high school-aged youth from Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) Contra Costa County team here, and it was an unforgettable experience. From the moment we walked in, the VIBE was amazing --authentic Bay Area culture radiating through the space, the music, and the welcoming energy. The food? Absolutely phenomenal. We ordered a little bit of everything: the Sideshow Burger (juicy and flavorful), chicken sandwiches (crispy and satisfying), salmon burger (fresh and unique), wings (perfectly seasoned), loaded fries (loaded, delicious + shareable), and milkshakes (creamy and delicious). Every single dish was a hit, and the youth couldn't stop raving about how much they loved their meals. What really stood out, though, was the exceptional service. Our order was large and a bit complicated, but the staff handled it with ease and a smile. They made sure we were completely taken care of, from placing the order to serving it all up with warmth and efficiency. Love this place! Food is tasty, staff are friendly, and the vibe is super chill! My 5yo daughter loves running around this place (when she's not eating), playing foosball and Jenga!! Owners are super nice and make u feel at home. family and dog-friendly. Been there probably every week since it's opened and tried many things on the menu. They've got burgers, shwarmas, elote, wings!! I brought my cousin, who was visiting from toronto, here for his pre-flight meal home and he was mad at me - for not having bright him there earlier!! He loved the wings and so did we! Slow cooked in oven and flash grilled for nice char taste and that spicy kimchi sauce was yummers! They were crispy, loaded with flavor, and the perfect side to go with the burger. You can tell they use quality ingredients and put care into every order.
