I was very excited to try this place however I was very disappointed. I have to say the location and service was amazing but the food was really not good. The ribs were very dry and not flavorful. We ordered the crab which in my opinion is the best bang for your buck. The only thing we really enjoyed was the cold noodle. The green beans were way too salty and the other dishes just didn't have that sichuan flavor

I had a mediocre experience at Sichuan Impression (Alhambra). My family and I tried their Dine LA Summer Menu ($72 - feeds 3 to 4 guests). We selected the Wontons in Chili Oil, Original Kung Pao Chicken, Stir-Fried Angus Ribeye with Scallions, and Home-Style Fried Rice. It all tastes cheap, mushy, or over-sweetened. UGH! It's not awful, but this food currently does not deserve a Michelin Guide label. Rather, this place tastes like Panda Express but with slightly better ingredients. I arrived at Sichuan Impression (Alhambra) on Thursday (around 6PM). Parking is easy because it touches a customer parking garage. Parking sign says, "Authorized Parking for Our Customers & Guests Only - 2 Hour Limit." Upon arrival, there's a crowd of people eager for the Dine LA promotion. There's an electronic waitlist. We waited about 25 minutes before being seated. Staff is rushed and lackluster. Staff is frantically stretched thin, and Staff barely interacts with customers. The service is similar to ordering bad McDonalds at the counter; Staff is indifferent and impersonal. It all felt like a marathon or sprint, as Staff plops the food on the table before running to the next table. Messy dishes pushed onto the table before hurrying away. Staff rushed everyone to order, and Staff almost never checked up on the table until the very end when the "tip option" appeared. As mentioned the family chose the Dine LA Summer Menu ($72). The Wontons in Chili Oil had a delicate, bouncy wrapping (covered in addictive spicy sauce) but the filling was shriveled and small. The Original Kung Pao Chicken tasted sugary like Orange Chicken; it felt like an attempt to hide the dry taste of its chicken. The Stir-Fried Angus Ribeye with Scallions tasted mushy and bland as if a premade bowl had been sitting out for a long time; this tasted like above average buffet food. And the Home-Style Fried Rice is hot and squishy like clay. This rice isn't fluffy and flavorful; rather, it tasted smashed together and wet. This was a BAD showcase of their talents. The food looked somewhat picturesque, but it all tasted rushed and frugal. On ambiance, Sichuan Impression (Alhambra) felt loud, crowded, and plain. The place appears clean, but it was not a memorable spot. At most, it looks like a spruced up cafeteria. Overall, Sichuan Impression (Alhambra) left a poor impression. This business couldn't handle the large crowds, and the mediocre quality/results felt very apparent. This place is not bad, but it's also not great. 3.3 out of 5

We ordered a variety and it was all unique. Ty he least impressive item was the impressive dumplings. The kung pao chicken was a surprise favorite. Elegant space. We parked in a garage and walked over. Please come and create your own adventure.

Came here with some friends and had a really enjoyable meal. We tried a variety of dishes and there wasn't anything that disappointed. The cold noodles were refreshing and had a nice firm texture, making them a great starter. The qiao jiao beef stood out with its rich beef bone broth, and both the beef and radish were incredibly tender. The shredded potatoes with vinegar and chilies had a satisfying crunch and a nice kick without being overwhelming. One of my favorite dishes was the tea smoked pork ribs. They were fall-off-the-bone tender and the crispy garlic on top added a lot of flavor and texture. The kung pao chicken was another standout. The chicken pieces were meaty and the sauce had a sweet and savory flavor that actually reminded me of sweet and sour pork, which I really enjoyed. Overall, a solid spot with flavorful dishes and a good variety of textures across the menu. Definitely worth checking out if you're craving Sichuan food in the area.

Favorites were fries, string beans, chicken, pork jowl. Fries were really crunchy, string beans has flavor and garlic. Chicken was probably number 1 on my list. It wasn't overly spicy, kinda reminds me of zindrew og sauce. Pork jowl was interesting. You eat it as a wrap and add pineapple sauce. Alot of these items we ordered no spicy so that they will have spicy on the side. Since we had a few who doesn't like spicy. I dont think they ever brought us spicy on the side but its okay since we had some spicy dishes as well. Mapo tofu was flavorful but very numbing. I couldnt even tell the lamb eas gamey because my mouth was numb. Which is good because i usually cant handle gameyness. Not really a fan or their taro dessert with the mochi. It was too liquidy for me. 3.5 stars

Sichuan Impression serves some of the most authentic Sichuan cuisine in Los Angeles. I've visited this restaurant many times over the years, and one of my all-time favorites was the Bobo Chicken (钵钵鸡). Unfortunately, it is no longer on the menu. I really wish they would bring it back because it was one of the restaurant's signature dishes and a favorite among many customers. During this visit, I ordered the sliced pork and the jelly noodles. The sliced pork was incredibly tender, with a clean, fresh flavor that let the ingredients' quality shine. The jelly noodles were refreshing, spicy, and full of bold Sichuan flavors. The combination of heat, seasoning, and texture was simply delicious. The dessert was also surprisingly good. It reminded me of mochi, topped with puffed rice that added a pleasant crunch and contrast to the soft, chewy texture. If you're looking for authentic Sichuan food in Los Angeles, I highly recommend Sichuan Impression. The flavors are genuine, the dishes are consistently well prepared, and it's a place you really can't go wrong with.

Located in a plaza in Tustin, there is ample parking. There was also no wait on a Wednesday afternoon. The restaurant itself is clean and organized. The waiters don't check up on you but it's a Chinese restaurant so oh well. Their food though, now it's a banger. You have to get basically one of everything. The impressive noodles were quite impressive and the tea smoked ribs blew my mind.

Tea Smoked Pork Rib

Authentic Szechuan food! Price is super affordable for the portion, service is very fast, and the ambiance is clean and bright. My favorite dishes are the smoked ribs that are so well executed and the boiled fish that has an addicting numbing spice to it!

Cumin Lamb, Boil Fish Fillet Chili Sauce
Vivian Q.

Had been hearing high reviews about this place, and enjoyed our dinner here. I enjoyed the stir-fried lamb with cumin the best of our selection. The food was good but I found it to be pretty standard, not too sure what makes it special enough to be Michelin recommended. Ordering is done via QR code, for some dishes you are able to specify spice level, and keep in mind you have to pay for rice by the bowl. Service seemed variable - I noticed servers for other tables carefully taking food away from the table to pack it at the back counter, but for us our server packed our food right at the table, subjecting us to splashes from the pouring.

Really delicious chinese restaurant! Never heard of this place and tried it out based on high yelp reviews. Located on Main Street in Alhambra, there's tons of delicious restaurants like Sichuan impression. Parking was simple, the parking structure is in the same building as the restaurant. To order your food, you scan the QR code at your table and order everything through your phone.I honestly would love to get a physical menu with photos and an employee taking my order. I would like human interaction. Ordered the stir fry dry green beans, tea smoked pork ribs, wonton in chili oil, and beef noodle soup. Everything tasted so fresh and delicious! I would reorder everything! The pork ribs were perfect texture and flavor! Interior is beautiful, food is delicious and looks beautiful as well. Staff was very friendly although not so attentive. I would definitely come back!

Service was okay. A little slow Took a little bit of time to get seated. Seemed maybe understaffed. Food came out okay. Good portions, authentic, just the right amount of spice and it's a very spacious restaurant. With tons of parking spots so that's nice. I like the modern feel they have it definitely makes them a little different than other Sichuan restaurants here in Rowland heights. They do serve alcohol Have a drink menu as well.

Flaming Pork Jowl

Always wanted to try this place out! Despite the name, they actually have a good amount of non-spicy dishes here to offer. We first started off with ordering A-Choy, Tea Smoked Pork Rib, and the flaming pork jowl. The choy came out first, which even though it's a super simple dish, it was quite tasty! The Tea Smoked Pork Rib was also pretty good, it falls off the bone! It has a prominent smoky flavor to it, which was pretty nice. We also got the pork jowl which was pretty unique. We didn't know how 'fancy' the dish was lol but they also poured alcohol over it over hot stones, and you eat it with lettuce and garnishes for a refreshing bite. All of the dishes were pretty good. Service was pretty standard. It wasn't too busy so it was pretty quick for us to receive our food. There wasn't that many people either so we were seated quickly. It does feel more of a modern Chinese restaurant, which the dishes were also more nicely presented. Although, the price point feels kinda expensive for what it is lol. I wouldn't say the ribs would be $30 worth given the portion size either, nor the pork jowl. It feels more like an elevated experience with the ambiance and presentation, but the food is just 'good'.

We got the Boiled Fish in Green Pepper Sauce, Toothpick Lamb, and Mapo Tofu. Everything was definitely super delicious. The dishes weren't too spicy for me, and I actually wish they had a bit more heat, but they did have a nice numbing kick to them. I do have a pretty high spice tolerance, though, so my experience may be different from others. My friend thought the dishes were pretty spicy, so keep that in mind if you're more sensitive to heat. The fish was super tender and soft, and honestly pretty addictive to eat. The Toothpick Lamb was pretty much the same--you just pop one in your mouth and then immediately want another. It had a nice salty, spicy flavor that made it really easy to keep eating. The only downside is, well, the toothpicks! They definitely slow you down. I also really enjoyed the Mapo Tofu. It was nice and flavorful and went really well with the other dishes. Overall, everything we tried was really good, and I can definitely see why my friends recommended this place.

The food did take a while, but I can understand that when everything is being made fresh. Just know that if you're on a time crunch, this probably isn't the place for a quick meal. The gentleman who seated us and took our order was really nice, but after that, we pretty much felt forgotten about. Once the food arrived though, it was Good. Very flavorful, authentic Chinese food, and definitely worth trying. The atmosphere is loud and busy, no music, just the sound of a completely packed restaurant, so don't come expecting a quiet, relaxing dinner. Also, fair warning, some of these dishes are Spicy, and I mean actually spicy. If you love some heat, you'll probably love this place. Overall, I'd recommend giving it a try for the food. Lots of dishes to choose from. A good variety too of proteins, vegetables, noodles and Wonton soup.
