Overall, pretty average. I think that there's a lot better Thai food in Indianapolis. I felt like they didn't give a lot of meat or veggies in the dishes and it didn't have significant flavor. It also felt really oily. It was a pretty laid-back vibe and the service was pretty good.
I was craving pad Thai and did a quick google search of what was in the area and found Siam Square and I am so glad I picked it! I placed a carry out order and arrived to a friendly staff and my food ready to go in less than 15-20 minutes. The restaurant was empty at around 4:30 on a Thursday and this needs to change! They were working on a repair at the door but from what I could see inside, the restaurant was clean and spacious! The pad Thai was so delicious! I was nervous when I saw it at first because the noodles were thin but truly the flavor was perfect! I added chicken to my meal. The spring rolls were even better! 10/10! I had leftovers for the next day. I will be back!
This was our first visit and we will definitely be back! It was quiet when we visited (which I like) but still had several customers. We had good service, efficient and friendly. All of the food we had was really quite good. We started with the fried tofu and the sauce was perfect. Our mains were the Tropical Fried Rice and the Green Curry with Tofu. I was able to sub out the eggplant for peppers and it was amazing. Perfect amount of spice. I did order some soup to go (Coconut/Tom Kha) and it was just ok. I've had significantly better soup but everything else was fantastic! We will definitely be back.
This place was very good, my SIL and I went here tonight because I'm in town for work this week. I wanted to order the dumplings as an appetizer but unfortunately it's pork and shrimp (I am not a seafood fan) so instead we tried the curry puffs, which are basically empanadas, but tasted a little bit sweeter. For entrees, she got the drunken noodles with tofu and I had the Pad Kraprow. I did think the entrees were a little bit expensive for the portion sizes, the portion size was great since I wasn't looking to take home any leftovers but for $17 for dinner pricing I was surprised the portion wasn't bigger. They have mango sticky rice as a seasonal dish which was excellent because that's my favorite Thai dessert, it was $12 but was a generous portion. Everything we ate here was very good so I would come back another time when in town. There is free street parking across the street, as well.
I have been to try Siam square for a very long time and finally got a chance as part of a team lunch. I should say the overall food and taste is very flavorful and that packs a good punch in your meal. I tried Siam ginger with shrimp and it had a good taste. Just not spicy it added a good amount of flavor to my meal. There was an add soup served as soon as we got in which in my opinion is so good for winter and flu season. It was tasty yet was so healing to my throat. Must try!
I love the food here! I got the stir fry mixed veggies with chicken. It was served with a side of rice. I chose medium heat. It was the type of heat that just lingered with each bite you take. Perfect! The pad Thai is also great! Definitely recommend getting it with shrimp! The spring rolls are crispy perfection! Every time I've been there's never been a wait. Service is prompt. It's usually quiet from the times I've been. Even on a Friday night it's a relaxing place to get a good bite.
This was my first visit to Fountain Square's Siam Square, a Thai restaurant describing itself as "vibrant Thai cuisine." If you've ever been to the Fountain Square area, you know the entire neighborhood has a myriad of accessibility issues. I have to admit I was a little concerned about committing to a restaurant I really didn't know in a neighborhood where I knew accessibility could be an issue. I parked 3-4 blocks away in a side parking lot that offered a spot likely to maintain accessibility. This neighborhood does tend to have fairly decent curb cuts, though sidewalks are in various forms of disarray. Siam Square is not on the side of the street that has the Cultural Trail, so the sidewalk here is definitely a concern. That said, I made it fairly easily. Siam Square has a green canopy entrance. It's an older building with a narrow wooden door. My lunch guests had some concerns about my entry, however, I was able to make it. As you enter, you turn slightly to the right to enter and face a hosting area and then the simply yet pleasantly decorated dining room. As a matter of note, my smaller manual wheelchair made the turn fairly easily. However, I would have some concerns about a motorized chair being able to make it. It's a sharp, narrow turn. Three of us were dining and we sat at a 4-top. Our server was quiet but pleasant and helpful throughout our time there.I was the only newbie to Siam Square. I ordered the sweet and sour chicken. I was asked if I wanted it mild, medium, or hot. To be safe, I chose medium. I regretted this as I found the medium VERY mild. I ordered unsweetened iced tea and did get my always desired refill. Siam Square has lunch specials Tuesday-Friday (closed Monday). They offer starters, small dishes, soups, stir-fried entrees, fried rice, thai coconut curries, seafood specialties, a small dessert menu, and a small kids' menu. Drinks include coke products, Thai iced coffee, Thai iced tea, ginger tea, hot tea, and chrysanthemum honey tea. I enjoyed my time here quite a bit, a combination of a solid meal and good company with a warm, comfy atmosphere. I arrived right as they opened and it was still fairly quiet. I'm not sure I'd go out of the way to dine here but certainly wouldn't hesitate to return when in the area. As I noted, several restaurants on this strip are not accessible (most have a step into them) and despite some challenges Siam Square does offer a level to the ground entryway. It was a beautiful day to hang out in Fountain Square and I was pleased to finally be able to visit this restaurant I'd long desired to check out.
There is a small parking lot next to the restaurant and then street parking in front. It has a nice interior with a couple fun bamboo walls and cool light fixtures. We got a table quickly. Our server was nice and checked in throughout the meal. We started with the steamed dumplings which didn't have a lot of flavor. My panang Curry was medium and could have a bit more spice and a few more green beans. Portion size was good and the price was moderate.
$21 dollars for this, is sad. But he portion size fits in a cereal bowl. The heat is not what I asked for. My other dishes have hardly any protein in them, even though I had to pay an extra $3 dollars for beef.
I have been here several times now and I order the same thing each time....Drunken Noodles w/ Chicken (Thai Hot). I've never been disappointed with this dish. I've ordered the Crab Rangoon before and was very disappointed. It seemed like it was slapped together and no flavor. I would definitely recommend the Drunken Noodles here. read more

I've eaten at SS for years and I feel like it's consistency has slipped - today Pad Thai was underwhelming to say the least - just a bunch of chicken and rice noodles - no flavor - feel like it is hit or miss with Siam - very disappointed - if the trend continues I won't be back read more
Tonight we wanted Thai Food and since we are from out of town - I did some searching and came across this place in the Fountain Square area. The restaurant isn't fancy but what we were in search of was good food. They don't have a huge menu but all the regular (normal) items were offered. We started with Fresh Siam Rolls (very tasty and well made) served with a nice sauce to compliment this dish. Our main dishes were the Drunken Noodles (Full of flavor - great taste and a good amount of food). The other dish was Masaman Curry served with a side of rice. We wish it was a little thicker (creamier) since the curry sauce was a little thin but it was packed with great flavor and has a great taste. We also ordered their Thai Iced Tea which was well made. Nice place overall, good food and it looks like they take reservations from what I observed. They do stay busy and seem to do a fair amount of take out also. read more

Recently dropped in Siam Square for the first time in a few years. Still an excellent Fountain Square dining staple! The layout of the restaurant has bright, attractive colors with some Asian style art & decor. The Siam Ginger stir fry is a usual dish, and it's a delicious blend of chicken (or other protein selection) and vegetables. It's admirable that a level of spice option is available for the dishes. The honey crysanthemum tea is a perfect addition to any meal! Incredible food, courteous staff and lovely decor make Siam Square a must try! read more
Curious... Love Pad Thai, have always enjoyed Siam Square in the past. Food was ordered in person, was ready 25 minutes later when estimated. Food was hot, Flavor was good...our party spent close to $120 with tip. In our order we had 4 chicken pad thai entrees, 2 medium, 2 mild. The question I am curious about...is it common for them to just throw the ENTIRE egg in the dish? Shell and all?!?! Every single order of Pad Thai had soooooo much egg shell. Not like, oops, a small piece got in the dish...more like, this needs egg? BAM! You get the whole egg, we aren't gonna even be bothered to remove the shell. Super disappointed read more

This place is one of my favorites for Thai food. I don't get me wrong. Indianapolis does have a few good Thai spots, but this one is my go to. It's kind of small on the inside so I usually get my food to go, but if you have a chance to sit inside and enjoy your food, that's what I recommend you do. read more

I love Thai food, and I have tried most of the Thai restaurants in Indy. Siam square is a solid choice, food is always tasty but this time I was disappointed with my lunch take our experience. Ordering on the phone was very easy and the food was ready in about 15 minutes as they said. But i think staff could be a little more friendly. Each time I have been there I never saw their smiles unfortunately. And the lunch special which comes with a spring roll and a soup is a little over $14. To be honest $14 can buy more and better in many other places. For that price I'd expect a little more than what was served in the box. I'm saying this based on my lunch experience at other Thai restaurants. But again, their pad Thai is so tasty and i highly recommend it. read more
I really enjoyed the drunken noodles, I got them hot and they were just perfect with the amount of heat (not quite enough to make me tear up). The green curry was very smooth too and flavorful but with medium spice I think hot would have been better. It's beautiful inside as well. The serving was just enough that I could finish it and feel full with none left over. read more

It almost pains me to write this because I do enjoy their food most of the time. But as the years have gone by the prices have only gone up and the portions have seemingly gone down. I ordered the panang curry as take out, the amount of rice I was given was almost laughable. A tiny container that wasn't even filled to the top for $20. I have to make more rice to even use the rest of the curry. Not to mention the website prices are not accurate so beware. The ambiance has become a bit more depressing since the makeover they did to the store years ago so i usually just order take out. Service is mostly good but at times I'm made to just feel like a burden. All of this being said, I give three stars because they have very good chicken pad Thai and other entrees and I love the spice level every time. The kitchen does a great job most of the time but I can't justify the prices what so ever. read more

Wonderful Thai option downtown in the fountain square area. I wanted to try something different than the usual go-to Pad Thai so my waitress recommended their Green Thai Curry which was fantastic! Great spice level and so deliciously creamy. I was amazed by the flavor, and my friends who tried it were similarly wowed. The only downside, the curry doesn't come in large of portion as the fried rice or Pad Seuw, which looked delish as well. I was able to finish all of the curry with rice and still want more! (Shows how great it was) Would definitely come back, interior is so cute too, which is unexpecting from the simple exterior. read more

We stopped here last minute b/c so many places were closed or crowded and I'm glad we did! The food was great and the service was even better! We were taken care of by not just our server Emma but two other servers as well! We shared the firecracker shrimp, the potstickers and spring rolls and as my entree, I had the drunken noodles - all delicious! Everyone enjoyed their food! I didn't know wine came in a can, it did not disappoint! I can't wait to stop in again! read more

Amazing! Was crazy Thai food and found this place through Yelp. The inside was super cute, despite looking closed on the outside. We were a group of 7 and was able to get a table no issues, we also went on a Thursday night. So not super busy time. The service was amazing and the food was PERFECTION. I always love crab Rangoon's and this place did not disappoint! read more
I can't believe this was my first time at Siam Square. Crab Rangoons are one of my favorite foods, and I think I found my new favorites. Also, I ordered my coconut curry hot spice level, and it was exactly what I expected. Everyone at the table loved what they ordered as well. Can't wait to go back to try more on the menu! read more

Well, I should have written a review for Siam Square years ago because it is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in Indy. I made my way back over to the Fountain Square area to dine in and was very pleased, as usual! We were seated right away for dinner, and dug into our appetizers very quickly! We ordered both the Fresh and Fried Spring Rolls and they were fantastic. Although I love a crispy roll, the fresh rolls were really just so - FRESH and full of flavor. I could eat these any day. For entree, I went with the Masaman Curry with Chicken. It was a bit sweeter than I remembered, but I'll blame that on my own memory - but watch out if you prefer a more savory curry, and don't be afraid to boost the heat level a bit to add balance. It was delicious nonetheless, with a rich coconut and curry broth. I was *this* close to ordering the incredible Roti Roll dessert, but decided not to splurge. However, I highly recommend this treat! read more
Absolutely love this place. I'm new to the area and only been here 2 weeks and I've already been here 3 times. The spice is perfect. You can do mild but the spicy is amazing!! Service is quick and nice. The fried spring rolls are so good. I could eat 8 of them!! The restaurant is very spacious and has cool murals all over the walls! Highly recommend read more

First off, totally neglected my Crab Rangoon order, it didn't make the trip. Chicken Satay was ok, seasoning was good but was pretty dry. The peanut sauce was Bomb though. #50 Pad Thai noodles were over cooked, chicken over cooked and not tender. Ive had better at other places. Food arrived on time and was barely warm. I also placed my order at 3:30 in the afternoon and although it's Black Friday, I dont see this a a reason for so many issues. Very disappointed! read more
Decided to visit Siam Square for lunch the other day while walking in the neighborhood. My companion mentioned that they stopped table service and that you had to order from the front counter however that was not the case for our visit. We both opted for one of the lunch specials which included a vegetarian spring roll as well as soup. I ordered the Bangkok fried rice with chicken. Everything was good and had lots of flavor. The soup was spicy and delicious and the spring roll was hot and fresh. I was a bit underwhelmed by the portion size however was satisfied after eating everything. I would be very happy to return and try one of their other spicy offerings for sure! read more

Well it's our first time here so I'm not sure if the somewhat ragged appearance was from water damage or something? Huge sections of the wall And ceilings were gone. So it was a little underwhelming when we first walked in. But we were seated quickly and greeted. Our server told us the special and was really knowledgeable about the dishes and origins of them. Menu had a lot variation and decent prices We got crab Rangoon, Thai house salad fried rice and the curry special recommended by our server. Everything was incredibly delicious. I got mine "hot" and it was the perfect temperature. Spicy without killing me. Sals was very fresh and peanut dressing was flavorful without being overwhelming. Overall a nice experience. I just hope they can do some remodeling to make it more presentable. The damage looked really old. Also I asked for salt and pepper and the shakers were kind of sticky? Had to use my napkin to use them. read more

I have been coming to Siam for many years now, but with the changes I no longer consider it a date spot. You order up at the counter, have self serve drinks, and seat yourself once you order. (You'd think the prices would reflect this "fast casual" change, but they do not). To get you soft drink you go to the coke fountain that blocks the walkway for people moving to a table after ordering. Horrible placement. There was a line of three people waiting to fill their drink while others had to wait or squeeze through to grab a seat. I understand that the counter ordering may be beneficial for how quick the food comes out and table turnaround but it dramatically changed the experience. We ordered dumplings, soup, and entrees. We first got the dumplings- fantastic and quick. Then shortly after came there soup with the entrees. Typically you order appetizers so they come out first so you can enjoy each one while it's hot and fresh. Without the typically staggering you get eat your appetizers while out entrees got cold. Since our entrees weren't piping hot anymore we grabbed boxes from the drink station and boxed up our food to go. While we were doing this the server was grabbing our plates and cleaning our table which was very inconvenient considering the tables are small and crowded. It was basically like we were getting rushed out. Unfortunately, we won't be dining in anymore and will only be getting takeout because of our experience. Oh and I almost forgot to mention- when you first order at the counter they suggest your tip on the bill. Who are you tipping? You get your own drinks, refills, and box up your food. There aren't any servers! Siam is now a "fast casual" spot with date night restaurant price tag. read more
We were in town for business and luckily this place was still taking sit down eating before the major shut down due to covid-19. They have private parking lot and street parking. It's a nice place, you order and pay up front they give you a table number and take you to your seat. They do service alcohol hubby ordered a sweet beer he liked it. I had a glass of water serve yourself lemon flavored water by the Togo containers and other stuff needed. For a Apps: We ordered Tom yum soup a slight of spice and it had mushrooms, tomatoes, and green onion. It was ok. Thai fried spring rolls 4 pcs we're good I would order this again. Fried cubes tofu with sweet n sour sauce and peanut sauce good I would order again For the main dishes/ We ordered basil fried rice vegetables it was good a bit too much fish sauce though. Pad Thai veg noodles, sweet and savory they also ask you heat level you want your dish. I said medium. Yellow curry with tofu hubby asked for hot he liked it. They would clean up our empty plates and ask how the food was tasting. Really friendly staff. Overall nice experience and food. I would come back if I'm in town. read more
In my very humble opinion, this is my favorite Thai restaurant downtown. Even over some of the newer, more trendy options, the flavors here are more pronounced. We came in for a ladies' dinner of 5. We ordered an array of appetizers, including curry puffs, spring rolls, dumplings, and crab Rangoon. The highlight appetizers for us were the Rangoon, dumplings, and curry puffs. We also ordered a wide variety of entrees. We especially loved the sweet and sour chicken. It was so crispy and intensely sweet and sour. We also loved the drunken noodles, pad thai, and Bangkok fried rice. The spice levels were on point, and we all left full and happy. read more
I have been to Siam at least 5 times before the renovation and to be honest with you, I'm not too happy with the new change. Siam Square use to be a restaurant style where you get seated, order with the waiter, receive your food, then pay for the bill. As of now once you enter the restaurant, you line up at the door and order at the front; you'll be paying for the food first, writing your tips before you even experience the food & service, they give you a number and seat yourself. Siam Square's prices are quite pricey for a "fast food" experience. Back then before they change their restaurant style, I enjoyed coming here for the experience regardless of the price, but tonight changed everything. Today I experienced customers that were behind me they received their food first, we never got our utensil set for our pad thai (we ended up getting the togo chopsticks at the self serve area), our dessert never came out (waited for 1 hour and the waitress took our number, so how would they know the dessert is ours?), then we ended up getting back our money for the dessert and left since the waitress that didn't understand us haven't even told us what's the status of the missing item. $61 for 2 pad thai, bowl of tom yum soup, 2 thai tea and sweet mango sticky rice from a "fast food" ordering experience? No thank you, I will not be coming back here again unfortunately. read more

Finally, we made it to Siam Square!! We go to Fountain Square often, but always seem to choose another restaurant! I loved everything!! We had dumplings that were perfectly seasoned and sized well. My husband had Bangkok Fried Rice with pork and I had Masaman Curry with chicken, both were awesome!! I loved their Chrysanthemum tea! I've read reviews on FB and Yelp that talked about their new counter ordering style and I have to say, we liked it everything about it! We never felt like we weren't being waited on, actually felt like we were take care of more!! And we didn't have to wait for the check! read more
