I have been here so many times that I can't believe I haven't reviewed it yet. Ah well, better late than never. Siam Square is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants in Indy, and I am THRILLED they made it through the pandemic! I have never had a bad or even mediocre meal here - everything is delicious. In fact, EVERY time my husband and I eat here I can't stop talking about it afterwards. Their food makes my taste buds sing, it's so yummy and satisfying. And there are loads of vegetarian and gluten free options, so that's a huge plus. The service is always good, and it's nice when you can actually meet the owners because they are working as well. They have even fit us in a couple of times for dinner just before they closed, which was super nice. We will continue to dine here regularly to support this great business. read more

I have been here several times now and I order the same thing each time....Drunken Noodles w/ Chicken (Thai Hot). I've never been disappointed with this dish. I've ordered the Crab Rangoon before and was very disappointed. It seemed like it was slapped together and no flavor. I would definitely recommend the Drunken Noodles here. read more

Tonight we wanted Thai Food and since we are from out of town - I did some searching and came across this place in the Fountain Square area. The restaurant isn't fancy but what we were in search of was good food. They don't have a huge menu but all the regular (normal) items were offered. We started with Fresh Siam Rolls (very tasty and well made) served with a nice sauce to compliment this dish. Our main dishes were the Drunken Noodles (Full of flavor - great taste and a good amount of food). The other dish was Masaman Curry served with a side of rice. We wish it was a little thicker (creamier) since the curry sauce was a little thin but it was packed with great flavor and has a great taste. We also ordered their Thai Iced Tea which was well made. Nice place overall, good food and it looks like they take reservations from what I observed. They do stay busy and seem to do a fair amount of take out also. read more

Curious... Love Pad Thai, have always enjoyed Siam Square in the past. Food was ordered in person, was ready 25 minutes later when estimated. Food was hot, Flavor was good...our party spent close to $120 with tip. In our order we had 4 chicken pad thai entrees, 2 medium, 2 mild. The question I am curious about...is it common for them to just throw the ENTIRE egg in the dish? Shell and all?!?! Every single order of Pad Thai had soooooo much egg shell. Recently dropped in Siam Square for the first time in a few years. Still an excellent Fountain Square dining staple! The layout of the restaurant has bright, attractive colors with some Asian style art & decor. The Siam Ginger stir fry is a usual dish, and it's a delicious blend of chicken (or other protein selection) and vegetables. It's admirable that a level of spice option is available for the dishes. They are doing a very good job with Covid social distancing and cleaning. They have about half their normal table set up inside and doing lots of carry outs. Food was great service was good. They have some of the best Crab Rangoons. Beef and broccoli had really tender beef. Lunch portion was kinda small but it was actually enough food. It almost pains me to write this because I do enjoy their food most of the time. But as the years have gone by the prices have only gone up and the portions have seemingly gone down. I ordered the panang curry as take out, the amount of rice I was given was almost laughable. A tiny container that wasn't even filled to the top for $20. I have to make more rice to even use the rest of the curry. Not to mention the website prices are not accurate so beware. The ambiance has become a bit more depressing since the makeover they did to the store years ago so i usually just order take out. Service is mostly good but at times I'm made to just feel like a burden. All of this being said, I give three stars because they have very good chicken pad Thai and other entrees and I love the spice level every time. This place is one of my favorites for Thai food. I don't get me wrong. Indianapolis does have a few good Thai spots, but this one is my go to. I looooooove Fountain Square and I looooove Thai food. This spot is a true win-win. This restaurant opened in 2008 and has been a downtown staple ever since. During COVID, they're offering both takeout and delivery on their Yelp page (via GrubHub) or you can call/stop in to order as well. The owner of Siam Square also owns The Inferno Room, a tiki bar/restaurant located two spots over. I love Thai food, and I have tried most of the Thai restaurants in Indy. Siam square is a solid choice, food is always tasty but this time I was disappointed with my lunch take our experience. Ordering on the phone was very easy and the food was ready in about 15 minutes as they said. But i think staff could be a little more friendly. Each time I have been there I never saw their smiles unfortunately. And the lunch special which comes with a spring roll and a soup is a little over $14. To be honest $14 can buy more and better in many other places. For that price I'd expect a little more than what was served in the box. I'm saying this based on my lunch experience at other Thai restaurants. But again, their pad Thai is so tasty and i highly recommend it. read more

I really enjoyed the drunken noodles, I got them hot and they were just perfect with the amount of heat (not quite enough to make me tear up). The green curry was very smooth too and flavorful but with medium spice I think hot would have been better. It's beautiful inside as well. Amazing! Was crazy Thai food and found this place through Yelp. The inside was super cute, despite looking closed on the outside. We were a group of 7 and was able to get a table no issues, we also went on a Thursday night. So not super busy time. The service was amazing and the food was PERFECTION. Wonderful Thai option downtown in the fountain square area. I wanted to try something different than the usual go-to Pad Thai so my waitress recommended their Green Thai Curry which was fantastic! Great spice level and so deliciously creamy. I was amazed by the flavor, and my friends who tried it were similarly wowed. The only downside, the curry doesn't come in large of portion as the fried rice or Pad Seuw, which looked delish as well. I was able to finish all of the curry with rice and still want more! Well, I should have written a review for Siam Square years ago because it is by far my favorite Thai restaurant in Indy. I made my way back over to the Fountain Square area to dine in and was very pleased, as usual! We were seated right away for dinner, and dug into our appetizers very quickly! We ordered both the Fresh and Fried Spring Rolls and they were fantastic. Although I love a crispy roll, the fresh rolls were really just so - FRESH and full of flavor. I could eat these any day. For entree, I went with the Masaman Curry with Chicken. It was a bit sweeter than I remembered, but I'll blame that on my own memory - but watch out if you prefer a more savory curry, and don't be afraid to boost the heat level a bit to add balance. It was delicious nonetheless, with a rich coconut and curry broth. I was *this* close to ordering the incredible Roti Roll dessert, but decided not to splurge. First off, totally neglected my Crab Rangoon order, it didn't make the trip. Chicken Satay was ok, seasoning was good but was pretty dry. The peanut sauce was Bomb though. #50 Pad Thai noodles were over cooked, chicken over cooked and not tender. Ive had better at other places. Food arrived on time and was barely warm. I also placed my order at 3:30 in the afternoon and although it's Black Friday, I dont see this a a reason for so many issues. Very disappointed! read more

Flew into Indy for the marathon. This was our first stop from the airport to carbo load. One of my favorite Thai dishes is drunken noodle so that is what I ordered. The service was fast and friendly. Well it's our first time here so I'm not sure if the somewhat ragged appearance was from water damage or something? Huge sections of the wall And ceilings were gone. So it was a little underwhelming when we first walked in. But we were seated quickly and greeted. Our server told us the special and was really knowledgeable about the dishes and origins of them. Menu had a lot variation and decent prices We got crab Rangoon, Thai house salad fried rice and the curry special recommended by our server. Everything was incredibly delicious. I got mine "hot" and it was the perfect temperature. Spicy without killing me. Sals was very fresh and peanut dressing was flavorful without being overwhelming. Overall a nice experience. I just hope they can do some remodeling to make it more presentable. The damage looked really old. Also I asked for salt and pepper and the shakers were kind of sticky? Decided to visit Siam Square for lunch the other day while walking in the neighborhood. My companion mentioned that they stopped table service and that you had to order from the front counter however that was not the case for our visit. We both opted for one of the lunch specials which included a vegetarian spring roll as well as soup. I ordered the Bangkok fried rice with chicken. Everything was good and had lots of flavor. The soup was spicy and delicious and the spring roll was hot and fresh. I was a bit underwhelmed by the portion size however was satisfied after eating everything. I would be very happy to return and try one of their other spicy offerings for sure! read more

So good. I havent been craving Thai food bc havent had any that really wowed me. This is the best Thai I've had in a long time. We did carry out and had a 30 min drive and probably didn't even eat it until about an hour after we picked up and it was still so good. We got green curry. The medium spice is perfect. Just enough and not too much. The eggplant in it was cooked perfectly and not soggy and falling apart. We also got pad see ew with beef, mild spice level. The flavor was spot on. In my very humble opinion, this is my favorite Thai restaurant downtown. Even over some of the newer, more trendy options, the flavors here are more pronounced. We came in for a ladies' dinner of 5. We ordered an array of appetizers, including curry puffs, spring rolls, dumplings, and crab Rangoon. The highlight appetizers for us were the Rangoon, dumplings, and curry puffs. We also ordered a wide variety of entrees. We especially loved the sweet and sour chicken. It was so crispy and intensely sweet and sour. I have been coming to Siam for many years now, but with the changes I no longer consider it a date spot. You order up at the counter, have self serve drinks, and seat yourself once you order. (You'd think the prices would reflect this "fast casual" change, but they do not). To get you soft drink you go to the coke fountain that blocks the walkway for people moving to a table after ordering. Horrible placement. There was a line of three people waiting to fill their drink while others had to wait or squeeze through to grab a seat. I understand that the counter ordering may be beneficial for how quick the food comes out and table turnaround but it dramatically changed the experience. We ordered dumplings, soup, and entrees. We first got the dumplings- fantastic and quick. Then shortly after came there soup with the entrees. Typically you order appetizers so they come out first so you can enjoy each one while it's hot and fresh. Without the typically staggering you get eat your appetizers while out entrees got cold. Since our entrees weren't piping hot anymore we grabbed boxes from the drink station and boxed up our food to go. While we were doing this the server was grabbing our plates and cleaning our table which was very inconvenient considering the tables are small and crowded. It was basically like we were getting rushed out. Unfortunately, we won't be dining in anymore and will only be getting takeout because of our experience. Oh and I almost forgot to mention- when you first order at the counter they suggest your tip on the bill. Who are you tipping? You get your own drinks, refills, and box up your food. We were in town for business and luckily this place was still taking sit down eating before the major shut down due to covid-19. They have private parking lot and street parking. It's a nice place, you order and pay up front they give you a table number and take you to your seat. They do service alcohol hubby ordered a sweet beer he liked it. I had a glass of water serve yourself lemon flavored water by the Togo containers and other stuff needed. For a Apps: We ordered Tom yum soup a slight of spice and it had mushrooms, tomatoes, and green onion. It was ok. Thai fried spring rolls 4 pcs we're good I would order this again. I have been to Siam at least 5 times before the renovation and to be honest with you, I'm not too happy with the new change. Siam Square use to be a restaurant style where you get seated, order with the waiter, receive your food, then pay for the bill. As of now once you enter the restaurant, you line up at the door and order at the front; you'll be paying for the food first, writing your tips before you even experience the food & service, they give you a number and seat yourself. Siam Square's prices are quite pricey for a "fast food" experience. Back then before they change their restaurant style, I enjoyed coming here for the experience regardless of the price, but tonight changed everything. Today I experienced customers that were behind me they received their food first, we never got our utensil set for our pad thai (we ended up getting the togo chopsticks at the self serve area), our dessert never came out (waited for 1 hour and the waitress took our number, so how would they know the dessert is ours?), then we ended up getting back our money for the dessert and left since the waitress that didn't understand us haven't even told us what's the status of the missing item. $61 for 2 pad thai, bowl of tom yum soup, 2 thai tea and sweet mango sticky rice from a "fast food" ordering experience? No thank you, I will not be coming back here again unfortunately. read more

Finally, we made it to Siam Square!! We go to Fountain Square often, but always seem to choose another restaurant! I loved everything!! We had dumplings that were perfectly seasoned and sized well. My husband had Bangkok Fried Rice with pork and I had Masaman Curry with chicken, both were awesome!! I loved their Chrysanthemum tea! I've read reviews on FB and Yelp that talked about their new counter ordering style and I have to say, we liked it everything about it! My first Thai food experience has now become a go to option! They have quick and easy takeout, plus a lovely inside for a sit down experience. Really friendly service and good prices. My favorite dish is drunken noodles with chicken, medium heat. Absolutely love that fluffy noodle texture! For me, their medium is the perfect level of heat to provide tons of great flavor, without making me regret it later. Siam Square is a favorite in our house, delivering incredible Thai food for both dine-in and takeout. For lunch, I ordered the Pad Prik King, which I ordered with pork and had green beans, red and green pepper, lime leaves, and spicy red curry flavoring. The flavor of this dish is so bold and spicy from the curry that demands your attention from the first bite to the last. The pork was moist and chewy, and the accompanying vegetables were cooked nicely and fit the dish perfectly. Not to mention the large side of white rice to not only cool down your mouth, but fill you up to your hearts content.
