I mixed the malt vinegar with pepper, hot sauce and horse radish and that was amazing. These Mahi Mahi tacos were AMAZING. I was worried cause it just came with the fish (BIG slices) and some coleslaw but I got them with garlic butter/lemon pepper seasoning and it was so juicy and fresh. This place was hopping Friday night when we got into town. We had pretty high hopes for it and decided to try it out for lunch the next day. It was practically empty on a rainy Saturday afternoon. I got the mahi mahi tacos and hubby got the fried oysters. The food was mediocre. Not bad, but not any different than any average fried food restaurant. They forgot hush puppies on hubby's plate. Service was very friendly. Prices were fair. It was clean and convenient. My husband had a fried combo plate. The breading was soggy and the fries were cold. We shared the whole fried snapper with hush puppies and cole slaw. Slaw and snapper were wonderful. They let me sub slaw and hush puppies for rice and beans. Puppies were cold. I asked for new ones. We ate supper here while in the area, and were pleasantly surprised at how good the seafood was! We lived several years in the New Orleans area, so we know good seafood. I had a fried shrimp basket and my husband had a combo of fried oysters and catfish. The seafood was really fresh and prepared very well. The food was okay but the service wasn't as great. I ordered the sliders and was told they had grilled onions and jalapenos and asked to have onion only. The sliders came with both so I asked to have it remade with no jalapenos and was then told that it's a mixture of both. If I had been told that in the beginning, I wouldn't have ordered it. I was offered a new order but declined since our table already had their food and they said it would take a while. My son ordered a cheeseburger and his burger had no cheese. He took it back and asked for cheese and they put a cold slice on his lukewarm burger. We ordered 2 starters and one starter came out with 2 (out of our party of 5) of their main dishes also. The second starter came out with the rest of the food about 10 minutes later. The prices are high for a restaurant where you wait in line and order at the counter. My husband had the boiled crawfish and enjoyed it and my daughters each had a shrimp po boy that they said was good. The chips and queso and mini crabcakes were also good. Our visit was a bit of a mixed bag, but since the prices are high we won't be back. read more

This was a fun little seafood place! We ordered oysters on the half shelf, the shrimp boil, and a 1 piece catfish and 4 fried oysters. The oysters on the had shell tasted grate, and shrimp boil was enough to feed 2-3 people, but a little lacking on the flavor. The catfish was the star of the night and we wish we had ordered more. I'd give it six stars if I could. My wife and I ate at Shuck Me on an "off week" during the middle of the afternoon. The service was lightning quick and the food was awesome. We ate the Lemon Pepper Shrimp boil; shared a gumbo and side salad. (Also ask about the garlic butter bread not on the menu.) We ate every bite and absolutely loved the dinner. Shuck Me looks like it would be a fun nite place. You should definitely give it a try! read more

This is the worst restaurant in this town. I am here right now with my family and I got the grilled salmon, grilled zucchini and green beans. The salmon is dry as a bone..... the zucchini was sliced real thin when it was grilled and is all dried out. The green beans are frozen and have no seasoning. I was expecting better. Wish that our visit had been better since this was the only place we went to eat on our girls weekend in Broken Bow. Atmosphere and service were both good. Most of our food on the other hand was nothing to write home about. The seafood was ok but it seemed like the friers were not hot enough or something as everything had soaked up a ton of grease. The hush puppies were the worst I've ever had. Small, hard, dense and super soaked with grease. I know, they are fried, supposed to be greasy but they were absolutely soaked. I also know most people don't care about hush puppies but I love them, usually. Raw oysters were small but good. I think the most disappointing things were the beignets. I've had real beignets and these weren't it! Dried out dinner rolls with powered sugar on them. Yuck! We didn't even wind up eating them. Please don't waste your money here! read more

This place was amazing! We visited twice during our stay at Broken Bow Lake. From crab, shrimp, cat fish, to the wonderful oysters. Did did not find anything we did not like. The food is very unseasoned. The oysters were not fried enough. No one were wearing masks. The catfish at the EZ-Mart was seasoned better. Calamari was not done. Neat place but not good food. Came here with the wife for lunch on a Saturday and she got the snow crab legs boil and I got a burger. Fries came out cold and corn with the boil was ice cold, fresh out of the fridge. They replaced both for us. Flavor of what we got was average and nothing special. So while it's a neat location with a large outdoor area we won't be back. There are MUCH better options in Hochatown. read more

Some employees seem pleased to be there while others (specifically the middle aged woman in the blue hat) seem upset. Our total tab was about $80 and absolutely not worth it. I was eating my 12 fried shrimp for $26 and noticed black specs all over the shrimp. At first I thought it was pepper or something. I looked closer and discovered it was bits of bugs that must be in the cornmeal or whatever they use for batter. One of the pieces was a whole bug. Had a late lunch here last weekend and it was pretty good. They have a wide variety and a large menu so everyone should be able to find something. We got oysters, soups, gumbo and salads. This is a new restaurant to Hochatown. The restaurant has an ordering line as you go through the door, you pick up your drinks and find your table. I had the Fried Shrimp Po' Boy. It was excellent. The shrimp were nice and crisp without all that heavy batter. The sandwich came with four tender hushpuppies and piping hot french fries. My husband a snow crab legs. The place was nice and clean with outdoor sitting. Nice & friendly service on the counter. Now my shrimp and crab gumbo is way too salty and super thick. Absolutely the worst costumer service I've ever received. My husband and I got crawfish that was okay at best and I asked the laddies at the counter for crawfish dip and they looked at me like I was crazy well I got news for them everywhere else in the south thats a thing!!!! And it's fine but they didn't have to treat me like a freak for asking for something their small little minds have never heard of!!! I will never be back to spend another $100 on mediocre crawfish again and I certainly will not tell any of cabin owners or guest to come here!!!!! read more

We ordered a dozen raw oysters, which is the cause of the low rating. I could only eat 3, my husband ate almost all the rest but couldn't stomach the last. I can't in good conscience recommend the oysters. We had a fried sampler plate of catfish, shrimp and oysters and even the fried oysters had an odd flavor.. The fried catfish and shrimp were a much better choice. Crispy and flaky breading and good tartar sauce. The outdoor seating area was relaxing and casual. Please ignore the poor reviews of this place as they couldn't be more wrong. We stayed in a nearby cabin for the week after Christmas and we chose Shuck Me for our "eat out" night. My 21 yr old daughter and her friend had gone to Shuck Me while out on one of their adventures and they raved about their experience. Ours was no different. Our party of 8 enjoyed catfish, popcorn shrimp, chicken tenders, fries, hushpuppies, onion rings, bread pudding, and beignets in a clean establishment. Everything was perfectly cooked, nice portions, and delicious. The beignets are definitely not like you get in NOLA, but they were still a tasty treat. It's fried dough with powdered sugar and honey. There are ample drink options and a nice area to fill sodas and get tartar sauce, cocktail sauce and ketchup. The place was clean, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating with a heated, pet friendly patio. The picky eater in our group said the chicken tenders were the best he's ever had. The rest of us also thoroughly enjoyed our food. We also placed a to-go order before leaving and everything was packed well. The line to place your order moves at a decent pace and the young man at the register was pleasant, helpful and got all of our orders correct. If you're in the mood for seafood and need kid friendly options, I recommend you give this place a try. Unfortunately I didn't take any pics, we were too busy enjoying the food, lol. read more
