    The Sticky Shroom Smash Burger
    Joshua P.

My colleague asked me to meet her here and I'm not going to lie, I was not feeling the menu at first. I was like what am I going to eat because I love meat. I got the Shroomlicious Wings and a mushroom burger(can't remember the name). It was so good i went back the next day and order the same exact order . I've been converted over. the tea was fye as well. You know eating healthy comes with a healthy price as well but i didn't mind. This place is really good. I stamp it. The staff were very professional and nice. The owner and the staff walked around and asked all the guests if they enjoyed everything and needed anything. The restaurant appeared to be very clean.

I cannot wait until they are able to come back. These were the what tacos I've ever had, meat or no meat! The flavors were just so well balanced! Service was prompt. I am literally counting the days for when they open again. I will be trying some of the shroom at home meals in the meantime.

Disregard the fact that this place has vegan food - it just has GOOD food. After you enter and order food at the counter, wait at the counter to pick up your food. Then you can sit inside or outside on their little patio. Now let's talk about the food! For me, the classic dish that's always a good choice is the OG tacos. The surprising star of the show was the Crunchwrap, which is full of flavor. If you want to try a few menu items, I recommend one of the sampler boxes. You will get a lot of food at a good price.

    1st time The Shroomlicious Wings.

Let's get into it. Now it was so hard to give 3 stars because it's not based on food primarily. This WILL be long, so have a pretty little seat. 1st Time (meaning never had the food or visit the location): I walked into the place and was NOT immediately greeted as the two ladies stood at the register/counter an conversed. I reviewed the menu and politely waited. When finally acknowledged I ordered the wings and wanted a drink that was on the menu but not available. I asked for a recommendation based on sweetness and one lady suggested the Temulla Pear something and then said, "it's the one we had at the festival." Clearly she "thought" I had been there before. I nicely advised it was my 1st time. Here's the issue, unless you know me by name, as a worker/owner you should NEVER assume someone has eaten at your place. You SHOULD treat EACH customer as if it's their 1st time (trust me, this will take your business a LONG way). Do I own a business, NOPE but I know ppl who do and TRUST me it makes a difference. Food: the wings were GREAT, my inner big back girl came out and I dang near finished the whole box. I was okay to put aside the lack luster customer service for a return. Temella Pear Lemonade: was actually really good. like REALLY gud!! I have ZERO expectations when trying local restaurants because they are hit or miss. They own the place so there's very little accountability when it comes to customer service. I told at least 3 people about this place...now I regret it. Why, you asked? 2 visit: I was so excited to get my wings, add some fries and get that lemonade. This time I was greeted as I entered. Order taken, told 10 minutes. Which turned into about 25. A few things while I wait: Flies (lots of them), uncleanliness, two people that came in was not acknowledged or waited on for at least 8-10 minutes. Food: wings were OVER saturated with sauce this time which made them a bit soggy, perhaps due to the outage of the garlic spicy hot sauce, which I was NOT told they were out of. I discovered this by checking my bag before leaving. Sucks, as I may have originally changed my order. Fries: TRASH!! for real, maybe because it was close to closing time, maybe because there were different people in the kitchen from last time. We'll NEVER know. Lemonade: I asked the lady about my lemonade, she tells me to look in the cooler; guess what smart tale lady I did, hence my dang gon question. Well ladies and gentlemen, the name on the cooler door DID NOT match the menu, so how in the hell am I supposed to know they are the same? Conclusion: This is why I don't mess with BOB (figure it out) because of the FREAKING ATTITUDES!! I could have taken my $25 to a Chinese restaurant or Poke world or even McDonalds if I chose, at least I know what kind service and attitude imma get. Here, I had zero expectations but hoped to be graciously overjoyed. WRONG, I honestly can't say if I will return and that's unfortunate because there is much more I want to try but I have ZERO tolerance for lack luster customer service. A little kindness can go A LONNNGGG way. Maybe I'll try that vegan place on Highland, now that they have some posted hours. For example: Hi, welcome, is this your 1st time here, if so, I'd love to offer some recommendations based on what you have a taste for. Ohh, how about: Thank you for coming in, we're a bit short staffed, if you'd be so kind, give us a few minutes and we'll be right with you. In the meantime, grab yourself a lemonade. OR, we're out of xyz that normally comes with your order, would you like something else or is that okay? BOOM, that's free advice, thank me later but small sayings like that with a SMILE can go along way. If you're looking for mediocre to bad customer service but good wings, this is your place. I will not, however suggest you sit and eat due to the flys. Take your chances.

    Wings

LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING!!! We were driving through Memphis and just needed something to eat. Someone in the car mentioned this place and we thought we'd try it out. The menu looked good to me, as I love oyster mushrooms, but the food just absolutely blew me away. We were a group of 6 so we order some burgers, two orders of wings, two orders of tacos, a cheesesteak and some loaded fries. Not only was the service fast, but the owner was so friendly and welcoming. We're definitely going back when we're in Memphis.

No hair net on, dirty kitchen

First time visit yesterday and was disappointed. Traveled from Texas excited to try the food and here's how it went: I walked in, the manager (lady in the pic) was at the counter. Not welcoming but hey I don't expect much from food service places. Usually they lack skills in that area. I viewed the menu, ordered their catfish sandwich, fries, steamed cabbage and both tacos. I asked if they had another of type of drink other than what was listed on the menu (tea), the manager's response, "yeah, I think we have Pepsi and sprite". I added a Pepsi to my order. After paying, the manager walks to the kitchen area to alert the ONE cook of the order. She then proceeds to grab the food containers and begins to line them with paper touching everything with her BARE HANDS. No gloves on, never washed her hands. As she's doing this I observed her scratching her hair, face, ear multiple times. Next, she prepares to bag the cooked fries, opening the bags with her bare hands!! She finally puts on gloves but grabs a rag to wipe down the counter then goes back to preparing food! Never changed her gloves, never washed her hands! She's preparing my catfish sandwich with those nasty gloves on. I yelled back to the kitchen asking her to put on a new pair of gloves and to remake my sandwich. The manager's response, "sure, no problem". She lacks comprehension skills. Not sure how she interpreted my request to remake my sandwich but I see her taking the toppings (spinach, tomato) off the bun and placing them to the side. Same toppings she touched with those nasty gloves on. She thought using the same toppings but using a new bun would suffice. NO, remake my entire sandwich from fresh with a new set of cleans gloves on. The manger said she was confused. So we had a back and forth exchange and I had to advise her of her actions. How from the beginning of her entering the kitchen area she hadn't followed any sanitary practices. Touching her hair, face, grabbing the dirty rag and preparing food with dirty gloves on. I asked the manager if the owner was present, she said no. I asked the owner's availability during the week and the manager said they try their best not to involve her in kitchen matters. The manager said the owner isn't there during the week. Huh??????? An owner who isn't involved in their business nor is unaware of how their staff is preforming is a BAD look. Reason why I had the outcome I had. The ONE cook had at least 7 orders to prepare by herself. She was working tirelessly with no help. Just being ordered by the manager to do this and do that with NO HELP! I praise her because she continuously changed her gloves while preparing the food. My order is finally ready, the manager gives me my order. I asked if they had napkins and forks because none were in my bag. Why did I need to ask for these items???? It was clear she had an attitude after I reproached her. I didn't receive a thank you for my service. The manager is not only DIRTY but unprofessional. The place is dirty! If you want to support please go inside to place your order. Watch how your food is being prepared unless you don't care. Here's my food review: Fries - 1/5 unseasoned/bland, portion not worth the price Steamed cabbage - 3/5 ok, taste. Nothing to run home about, portion not worth the price Both kind of tacos - 1/5 both were ok. Lacked flavor even with a ton of toppings on it. Hot sauce was missing even though listed as one of the toppings Fried catfish sandwich - 4/5 very good. It had pickles on it even though that's not a listed topping on the menu Canned Pepsi - 1/5 overpriced it was $2

    Mini tacos

I was looking for a vegan restaurant while visiting family in Memphis and found this place on Yelp. This place was definitely worth visiting, and I would return if in town. athe times on Yp and the website are incorrect, and when I first went, they were not open, although it stated online it was. No problem. I returned about 20 minutes later and was able to order. I got the "catfish" sandwich and mini tacos. Let me tell you, the food did not disappoint. It was hot, seasoned, and very tasty. I ate the tacos in the car on the way to where I was staying. The catfish sandwich and all the fixings were so good. I could have eaten two of them. Even my carnivore family member liked the catfish. Now, the system and service need a little work. They were friendly but not very welcoming, if that makes sense. Not helpful with menu items, spent a lot of time talking to each other and not the new visitor while taking my order. Maybe they needed time to greet each other before opening, and I was too early. I don't know, but that didn't stop me from wanting to return. The building is on the corner in a neighborhood, very accessible and easy to get, too, but you might go pass it a couple of times like I did. There is parking onsite.

I'ma new costumer to the busines I experienced a Rude ass manger. I ordered the wings and they were so though. I'll probably give them another chance and order something else. 0/10 for now.

It was hands-down the biggest food success we've ever had! Owner, Kristie Jeffrey was a dream to work with: responsive, kind, knowledgeable and genuinely invested in helping us. The food exceeded every expectation. We intentionally ordered appetizers from IV for the entire party, (not just the vegans), with small signs that read: "For Everyone: It's Delicious AND Vegan." Even so, guests couldn't believe what they were eating. Meat-eaters and long time vegans kept double-checking with me that the food was truly vegan, and I (happily) spent the night sharing where it came from! Highlights: Dogs N' Blankets were FLAKY! To be clear: that's PASTRY with no butter and still perfect hours later* The potato skins with "bacon" "cheddar" and "sour cream" converted my dairy-loving, bacon and sausage-loving, picky husband, and he ignored the omnivore meals we selected from another caterer. Spinach dip, rice and vegetables were all deeply flavorful and comforting. The lasagna! For decades I've reproduced a vegetarian lasagna I learned from a friend who's a private chef in London, and after tasting IM's, I'm officially retired. The vegetables were rich, savory, and beautifully balanced, with a flavorful sauce that comes from the spices and vegetables themselves. *For anyone considering Imagine Vegan for catering, a small but helpful tip: when you bring home items that lose texture with steam (like pastries or potato skins) take them out of the foil containers immediately. Before guests arrived, we kept the skins and DN'Bs in our warmer (vents open-no moisture - or you can low-heat warm in the oven with the door slightly open) then later popped them on to platters that had been sitting on silicone warming mats. Dishes like lasagna, rice, vegetables, and dips hold beautifully in chafing dishes with steam. Everything we served looked and tasted as though it had just come out of Imagine Vegan's kitchen! Guests have complemented us on the food at our previous parties, but NEVER like this. They were shocked to be enjoying animal-product-free food THIS much, and excited to know that we have truly delicious, TRULY healthier Southern food options right here in Memphis. As a vegetarian, the comments made my day. PUT YOUR FAITH in Kristie and her team. They're all lovely and very professional. Kristie is particularly warm, thoughtful, and provides food that will genuinely impress.

This entire restaurant is built on a slight slope, and they did not level the foundation when building out the restaurant, so if you're sitting at your table and the table is aligned north to south, you will see a slight lean to the flooring. Also, if you have any juices on your plate of food, the juices will flow toward Beale Street. I wanted to try their tamales but will have to do it on a subsequent visit. This visit we ordered the bowl of gumbo and the Memphis strip steak which is pre-cut for you. The gumbo is slightly salty but good. The strip steak was really good, filling and cooked to order. I chose new potatoes as my one side. Service here can be a little difficult depending how busy they are and how wild your fellow patrons in the restaurant can be. It took a long time to pay the bill here due to a large party coming in right when we were wanting to pay and our server was attending to them for about 15 mins while we were trying to flag him down. Other than that, we had no other problems. I would happily return the next time I'm in the downtown area and looking for food near Beale Street.

They do have their own lot, and parking was $5 for Genre customers, which was convenient. When I went inside around 4:30, it was pretty quiet--no music or activity--which was a bit surprising since the class was scheduled to start then. Shortly after, a gentleman came up front and let me know the earlier floral class was running over. I was invited to take a seat and given a menu in case I wanted to order while I waited. Ordering is done through a tablet kiosk right by the entrance. I can see how that might be a bit inconvenient if it gets busy, but it seemed to work fine during my visit. I ordered the 1-piece catfish with a side of okra. I was told it would be whole pieces, but it ended up being a large filet--which was still perfectly fine. My food came out in about 15 minutes. The catfish was a great size and fried to perfection--crispy and flavorful. It was served over a bed of okra, which unfortunately was a bit overcooked, so I didn't eat much of it. Overall, I'd rate the entrée a 7/10. I skipped ordering a drink since beverages were included with the floral class, and they actually brought me one while I waited, which I appreciated. I also noticed they offer hookah, which adds to the overall vibe. Once the music was turned on, the atmosphere really picked up and felt much more lively. I'd definitely come back to try more items on the menu and experience it during a busier time.
