Came here with my daughter and we had a feast. First we grabbed a seat and checked out the menu the place was very inviting and clean. Tables are social distanced as required by governor. We decided to order a few things to share. We ordered the chicken rice salad platter, the vegetable pita on wheat bread the burger pita and some baklava and cheesecake to go. Everything was absolutely amazing. We got our food very quickly, everything was hot and fresh. I can't stop thinking about the food. Really good food. Southern and Greek foods together is a bit weird but it works. My flounder sandwich was fresh, flavorful and hot. The bun was soft and warm. I also had the Greek side salad which was very similar to a side salad you'd get in Athens. My wife had a pita cheeseburger which was also well prepared and tasty. I've been looking for a good Greek / gyro place that was less than 15 min from me (Med Deli is great but it's a 25 min drive) and open on nights and weekends (how is Gussy's only open M-F for lunch??) for legit years. I could not have been happier to stumble upon Showmars! A casual Greek restaurant with AMAZING gyros, yummy Greek salads, and warm delicious fluffy pita. Fries are pretty good too. It's not as fast foody as a Chipotle but not a sit down full service restaurant either. But cute space and servers will give you refills on your fountain drinks. I went by today and there was a line of social distancing going on in the parking lot along with the 'smart people' that ordered online for curbside delivery. Today....I wasn't one of the smart people! I stood in line about 12 minutes to order. I ordered the first sandwich (tartar on the side) with grilled zucchini and squash. My order came pretty quickly ( in like 15 minutes). And I have to add their fish sandwich is the BEST! I moved to NC recently, and I'm still trying out all the local chains, but this one has been a favorite! Southern+Greek food, which is not the combo I knew would work so well! The staff are SO friendly and helpful. You order+pay at the front and sit down and they will bring your food to you. I got the 'world's best flounder' plate, and, no, it doesn't live up to the name. The flounder is fine (and I appreciate that it is flounder, a pretty unusual choice for fried fish) but it didn't knock my fish-loving socks off. The fries that accompany it have a strange aftertaste, though the initial texture isn't bad for crinkle fries, a cut that can lean school-cafeteria pretty easily. I want to give it credit for the creative drink options, kind of agua-fresca-esque but more of a tea base. I got the cinnamon turmeric juice and it was much appreciated. Lots of these types of restaurants just have soda or tooth-achingly sweet lemonade. read more

The crinkle fries were really good; not too crispy but not soggy, which is hard to do with crinkle fries. I liked the chicken skewers and it was seasoned well. My friend got the chicken santorini platter, which looked a lot better. I tried her rice pilaf and it was really good. I'd like to go back and try a more authentic Greek item. Not a bad place for a bite but it's a little more than I thought it would be. I've stopped at other ones in the past but this one looks a lot more up to date. It was a difficult choice of food since I was thinking more along the line of a strong Greek/ Mediterranean food flavor but it's a bit of American Mediterranean fusion. I got the flounder/ shrimp combo with fries and hummas. The plate was a good size portion but because the flounder was on top a large portion rolled off and hit the floor, so sad. The fish was flavorful and the popcorn shrimp was tasty as well but the hummus was very lackluster. Overall it was a good choice but it was more than a typical meal cost. I did see the overall rating in the 4's but to me it's a solid three and a half. The half point deduction is because the fish hit the floor and the hummus was not worth the extra cost. read more

A welcome addition to the neighborhood! The innovative idea of the founder, to combine fast-food with casual dining, works. You order your food, seat yourself, and a server brings your dish to you. The wait staff will refill drinks and bring requested necessities to your table. My go-to meal is the Chicken Pita with a side of crinkle cut fries. The chicken is tender, juicy, and delish. The portions are filling for one person. And prices are a good value. The customer service is excellent! Everyone is super friendly. And the manager occasionally goes around the dining area to check on customers. I have even had staff waiting with the door open when it was raining. The dining room is kept clean and well lighted. There is a covered outdoor seating area. Parking is shared with the shopping center and is plentiful. Only one suggestion is to switch to plastic drinking cups instead of styrofoam (for our health and the planet too). Will be back! I love the customer service of this place! First off, they don't ask you for any tip when you pay for your food like other places do. It's crazy how many restaurants like his ask for tips just to ring you up at the register and deliver your food to you. Then while you're seated, the waiters/ servers come in and check if you need anything several times as if you're in a formal restaurant. You know they're being genuinely nice cause they're not expecting any tip. I already paid at the register. The food is high quality and fresh. I ordered salmon with salad. It was great. Our first visit here. We ordered the flounder and shrimp platter, and the gyro platter and a side of hummus. The shrimp and flounder was fresh, crispy and excellent. The tartar sauce was good. The gyro platter was good fries were crispy, and well salted, but the Tzatziki sauce was prepared with sour cream instead of Greek yogurt, so it was not the best. Really didn't taste like authentic Tzatziki. The Hummus was very bland, and did not come with anything to dip in it without paying extra for pita or other. It had all the usual things on the menu you see in typical dishes (tzatziki, skewers, hummus), but the preparation on each ingredient just didn't live up places like Taza Grill. The service was above average with your order being brought to your table, and the folks at the registers were relatively friendly but also just seemed like they're doing a job more than anything else. Not a bad thing, just a little above average, hence the 3.5 stars. The place was clean but felt small even though there were tables toward the back and tables outside in a covered area with heaters. Since there was a place to stand in line and order, you'd think there would also be a self serve areas for drinks, condiments, napkins, etc but that didn't seem to exist so the assumption is they're wanting to offer some sort of full service sit down style, however there was no offer to refill drinks so you had to go back to the ordering counter to get it. The chicken on the skewer was tender but had a run off (maybe butter, but hopefully not grease) that soaked into the 2 slices of pita underneath them. There was not much taste of any seasoning on the chicken or on the fries. Even though I'm not a big salt eater, it took quite a bit (for me) of salt to get the fries to have a seasoning taste to them. Strangely, when I picked up the pita to eat it, I smelled pancake and from that point on, when I looked at the pitas, they actually looked like pancakes with the grill browning, and they had a rubbery texture to them. Since I didn't try the fish, and most of the reviews raved about it, I'd say come on in and try the fish, but if your preference is Greek, you can skip this one as there's really not much Greek taste here. My wife and I came here for the first time today. We live close but since there are a lot of restaurants in Brier Creek, we have not had a chance to get here. Today, we wanted to try some place new so stopped here for lunch. I got the chicken souvlaki pita with Greek pasta salad and she got the chicken pita sand which with retro crinkle fries. The portions were very generous and it was good! The staff were incredibly helpful and frankly what pushed me from a 4 to a 5 star. One of the staff checked in and asked if we needed anything like additional sauces when they brought our food out and then one of the managers, Wes, stopped by about 5 mins later to check and refill our drinks. They also have diet Mountain Dew, Diet Pepsi, and diet Dr Pepper fountain drinks here, for those that like diet soda! As we were finishing to, Wes returned to check on us and we shared it was our first time. He brought us a piece of bakalava cheesecake on the house and a to go menu sharing they are on DoorDash! The side salad was good & the fries were plenty hot, but not as fresh as I would have liked. Otherwise, it was a good experience. I ordered baklava for dessert but had to ask for it because it wasn't brought to me with my entree. I didn't eat all of it because it was not great baklava. It was hard to cut into. Good baklava is flaky. This wasn't. All of that said, the service was good and was friendly, but the quality of food is important and I wasn't impressed with the quality of the food I was served. read more

This is a new location and they just recently had their grand opening. To start, it's important to know that this is not a stand-alone locations; however, there was adequate parking. Upon entering you are immediately greeted especially because the ordering counter is not all the way across the room. The staff are very friendly! I chose to dine in when I went and I had several staff members check to see if I needed anything, but it was overwhelming. The dining area was nice and interestingly enough, they had high booths. It was basically like sitting at a high top table with booth seating. The also have an outside patio area. The food was amazing! I ordered the dish sandwich and it was so fresh!
