Service was lovely. She was delightful & the sandwich is so yummy & the clam chowder. I love it. The mimosa was also great!

French dip is always good here. I haven't had it anywhere else but it's my go to order. Tried out the pizza today and it was surprisingly good too. Always a pretty quiet place and hidden in the Nordstrom. Service was good, you tip and pay before you are seated. They gave me some chocolate mints which were good too!

Have always heard about this place but finally made the trip recently! Ordered the Roasted Turkey and Avocado Club sandwich - it was great! Awesome portion size, came with some tasty fries on the side, and asked for BBQ sauce which was a great addition to the fries. I really enjoyed the vibe and it was clean in there, will definitely be back!

My family and I enjoyed eating at the cafe bistro. I chose this place because my husband has never been there and I've always talked about the restaurant to him! When we arrived we had to stand in a short line which wasn't bad. Once we got to the front the cashier was very nice and made some delicious recommendations for us. My husband was surprised how the restaurant was situated inside of Nordstrom. We ordered a kids Mac and cheese with milk. We also ordered pizza and I had the crab Mac and cheese. We paid about $40 for our meal and everything was delicious. They offer kids activity sheets and crayons. The restaurant isn't that big but were able to find a booth immediately. Our server was very nice and accommodating she made sure that our drinks were filled and that we had everything that we needed. The restaurant was also very clean and organized. Overall good place to eat, pricey but worth it! I would definitely go back.

    Bistro Club Sandwich

To begin our day of shopping at The Streets at Southpoint in Durham, my daughter and I lunched at Nordstrom's Cafe' Bistro. She had the pepperoni pizza, and it was delicious, as usual. I chose the bistro club sandwich with sliced chicken, baby greens, avocado, bacon, tomatoes, hericot vert, and a spreading of garlic aioli. It's a very filling sandwich. I've never had green beans on a sandwich, but it works! They were not over cooked and still had a little bite to them. The bacon was crispy, and the bread nicely toasted. The plate was filled with a generous portion of herbed fries and a kalamata olive aioli for dipping-so yummy! I don't get to Nordstrom's very often, but a meal at The Bistro is well worth the drive.

I tried this place again after several years, and wow, was it excellent! Got the chicken panini and it was perfect. Great food. Great service. It is pricey but worth it in my opinion. The side salad with vinaigrette was so flavorful. Highly recommended!

It's probably not good for me to know that they serve food and wine at Nordstrom, but now I do so that's that. I was always vaguely aware that there was a café somewhere in the store, but it's tucked away on the north end of the second floor where I never go, so I had to seek it out. It actually makes a nice respite from the craziness of the food court and is a different option than the larger stand-alone restaurants in the "streets" part of Streets at Southpoint. You order at the registers right up front and then pick a seat--either at a short bar area in front of the cooking area or at one of the tables. (There's a huge window on the back side, but it overlooks Macy's and exit 276 on I-40, so meh.) Then a server will bring your food to you. My first time there, I didn't know how everything worked, so I'm not sure if you can add a tip when you pay at first or not. They close the ticket then, so I guess if you don't happen to have cash, the server gets stiffed. I guess just be aware to ask about that up front or have a few bucks on you. The menu has a selection of sandwiches, pizzas and salads in the $10-$15 range, then some specialty dishes in the $18+ range. I got the grilled ham and cheese with bistro fries and it was very tasty, with nice quality cheese perfectly melted and thinly-shaved ham on good bread. The fries came with a nice bistro-style dipping sauce. They have a few wine and beer selections as well. My only criticism of the menu is that they don't have any real options for lower-calorie meals. The calorie count for each dish is printed on the menu and there are a few "Eek!"s on there. But overall, it's a very civilized place to sit down and enjoy a fresh-cooked lunch well-served.

    Triple Berry Shortcake.. yummm!
    Nancy N.

Nordstrom's bistro does not disappoint with it's elegant, dimmed-lighting interior and beautiful, oval ornaments that hover on the ceiling. My friend and I came here for dessert, ordering a Triple Berry Shortcake. Our waitress was impeccable, despite the fact that we only came in for dessert. She consistently checked on our table, ensuring that everything was to our liking. The shortcake was very light and flavorful, not overwhelmingly sweet. There were FRESH blackberries, strawberries and raspberries on the dessert, which I really appreciated. Originally, I didn't really think much of this place. The idea of a bistro inside a prestigious store like Nordstrom only reverts to typical and expensive gourmet food. I'm glad they proved me wrong because now I won't have to resort to mushy/greasy mall food when I get hungry while shopping! The bistro is actually very affordable and the food is of good quality. I definitely recommend trying this place out (beats anything you'd find in the food courts)!

Um yum!! This place is awesome! Who knew such a delicious restaurant was hiding inside a department store in Durham?! Now that Nordstrom has kind of become my second home, I eat here as much as I can. They have delicious pizzas, salads and sandwiches. They are flavorful and not super expensive. I think I could honestly eat here everyday. Everything I've tried has amazed me. It is just that good! I wish I had known about this place longer. I will now be taking full advantage of eating here as often as I can. May I suggest the roasted chicken and goat cheese panini? And the fries.. I try not to eat fries in general but you can't pass these ones up. They have truffle oil or rosemary or something devine on them! The olive aioli is even good! (and olives are the one thing in this world that I don't like). If you stop by southpoint you have to come eat here.

    Strawberry salad
    Lauren R.

Always a good option to eat here if you're looking for a break from shopping. Southpoint can get especially busy, so this is a great option if you're looking for something that's not too crowded, generally quiet, tasty and healthy food, and quick service. You order at the counter and then are seated and served your food, so you still get a dining out experience, but it's much quicker than a sit down restaurant which is good if you want to get back to shopping. The food is tasty here, but it is pricy for what you get which is my sole reason for the 3 stars. I always order the strawberry salad, which comes with chicken, candied nuts, and fruit. The strawberries and fruit are always fresh whether it's in season or not. The dressing is tasty too. However, for the price of it the salad isn't that big and the chicken is okay but not very flavorful. They do sometimes give chocolate mints with your check that are a very good treat at the end of the meal! I would overall recommend this place to eat while shopping at the mall. It is definitely a healthier option than the food court, just be prepared to spend a little more money.

Love this place!! There is not one bad dish on the menu. Tonight I had the steak frites and it tasted like a high end steak from Angus Barn or Ruth Chris but was only 25 bucks! At first glance the cafe is so small it can easily be overlooked but don't underestimate it! Other great dishes include the goat cheese chicken panini, the lobster Mac n cheese, and the French dip sandwich. Honestly, anything you get I'm sure you will be pleased! Keep up the good work Nordstrom cafe!! Ps- the aioli sauce with the fries is , don't let the purple color intimidate you it's super tasty!

From the moment we entered the restaurant, the pastry display, soothing atmosphere, and kind servers set the tone for a relaxing, luxurious evening. Our server Gia came right to our table and remembered my parents from a previous visit, which always feels good. She quickly got us started with a salami board, a bottle of (amazing!) wine, and a complimentary bread basket, which we absolutely devoured. When it came time to order entrees, Gia also helped a few members of our party make the ever-difficult decision - a primi or second entree?? Regardless of our choice, everyone was delighted by their meal. The food had clearly been freshly prepared and was fantastic from appearance to taste. I highly recommend the walnut pesto, to which I added chicken. Portions were generous but not overwhelming, and Gia continued to check in to see if we needed anything. Make sure to ask about the specials - my dad absolutely loved his. Finally, dessert! As a large party, we got several desserts to split: the apple tart, the devil's food cake, a Nutella panna cotta, and chocolate gelato. Even though we were stuffed from dinner, dessert was worth every bite. I wanted to try more but simply had no more room. In summary, I can't recommend Cucciolo Famiglia highly enough to families looking for a special meal, couples seeking a romantic date night, friends looking for an intimate catch-up, or, as we saw on our trip, prom groups! Prices are very reasonable for quality, the menu offers something for everyone, and outdoor seating lets families with young children watch as their kids play in a nearby grassy field. Do make a reservation, though, as seating can be limited, and you don't want to miss this!

Its a bit small inside but they do well with their space. The lighting I found a little bright for a romantic evening but that's not really important. The service was extremely attentive. Other than that, no real complaints.

We remembered her from a previous visit, and will request her in the future. Cocktails and mocktails were excellent, as was the sparkling wine enjoyed by one of our party of six. We were surprised and delighted to see foie gras on the menu, and it was perfectly prepared, with an accompaniment of blackberry jam. The lamb belly entree was very rich, but cooked perfectly. The vegetarian plate was beautiful and delicious. Celeriac soup and beet salad were both terrific, and the barbecued shrimp were spiced perfectly. Our only letdown was dessert - only one of the 3 options appealed, so we ordered 3 of those (key lime semifreddo) and found them to be beautifully sweet/tart. We'll be back.

Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable and gave us a rundown of the menu before we ordered. I decided to start with the Cheese Plate, which included 3 different cheeses, buttered baguette slices, jam, mustard, and pickles. I enjoy cheese plates, and this one was great, but I can understand it may not be for everyone. My wife ordered the Red Fish, which had a more Southeast Asian-inspired twist to it. It came over rice and pickled onions and beets, and the flavors were a blend of lemongrass and coconut. The fish was cooked well - nice and tender, not too dry - and the flavors went well together. I ordered the New York Strip, which was delicious - the meat was well cooked, had great flavor, and was a generous portion that was very filling. The only gripe I had was that the char on the eggplant overwhelmed the flavor, so most of what I ate tasted like burnt eggplant. The place is clean and fairly laid back for a more upscale restaurant. If you're looking for a nicer restaurant in Chapel Hill where you might spend a little more, but you'll get great service with interesting food options / combinations, then look no further than Hawthorne & Wood.

As a vegetarian, there were admittedly pretty limited options, but I was aware of that going in and still wanted to try out this Durham institution. You get complimentary Focaccia (not once, but twice!), with perfectly crusty outside, bouncy inside, and a wonderful olive oil. If I had known this beforehand, probably would not have ordered the Dinner Rolls- nonetheless, they were delightful (pillowy soft and came with an airy butter). As an appetizer, we got the Little Gem Lettuce, which was a little too salty for my taste, and I felt the citrus accentuated the saltiness even more. However, my friends thought it was seasoned well so take this with a grain of salt lol. But I did enjoy the creaminess of the dressing and the crunch from the topping; also, it was pleasant to eat along with some bread. For my entrée, I got the Spaghettini. This was my first time trying shaved black truffle and I was underwhelmed, but I loved the pasta itself, which had a really unique bite to it and was rich but not heavy. The pasta dishes are on the smaller side with regards to portion. Last but definitely not least: the Hot Chocolate Soufflé. Oh my gosh. When I say this was heavenly, I could literally hear angels singing as I took my first bite. The hot fudge was velvety but not overwhelming, the soufflé soft, and perfectly balanced by the cool bourbon-caramel ice cream. This is assembled table side so you get a fun little show as well haha. We were taken on a bit of an emotional rollercoaster because apparently they were having trouble with the oven, but so grateful that could be fixed. Service was amazing (shout out to Beza!), very friendly and appropriate timing. Ambiance is superb, literally the epitome of modern elegance and probably the best in Durham for a fancy night out. Highly recommend getting a reservation. I could see parking being tricky on busy weekends, but I was able to snag a spot in front of the restaurant. Overall, I had a good experience with some minor room for improvement with dish execution but definitely would appreciate more vegetarian and vegan-friendly options (although, I suppose I didn't ask if modifications to dishes was possible). 9/10 would recommend!
