let's just say I am waiting for Jan 1 to roll around so I can use flex $ to buy another $1000 pair of glasses. Everyone is so inexperienced there with fitting glasses. They are convinced that bending the frame in is what fits glasses. The first pair, when folded, the left temple was literally bent downwards so much that I couldn't fold them up and put in a case if I needed to. I was told that not everyone's ears are the same level. What? I must have went there 50 times to get them to correct so that they wouldn't put unneeded pressure against the head and one day, I realized that i couldn't even use the bifocal lenses because the lenses were so tilted towards my face (but it turned out also that the bifocal was sitting too low). So, they had to order new lenses. I didn't want the frame that they mangled and was willing to pay for a new frame. They were nice enough to let me exchange them. Fast forward to new set of lenses. I've been there already 7 times. This last "fix" went as well as I should have anticipated. I went in for them to adjust the right side because the curve was too sharp and digging constantly on my ear. I didn't realize until after I got home that the left side is now tight against my entire nose as well as turned in. For reasons why she did that adjustment to the left side, I will never understand it. Not only is it putting unneeded pressure on my nose, but I also can't see with the bifocal without lifting my neck in an awkward position. Glasses are not cheap anymore, especially for progressive lenses. Corporate really should take that into consideration and train these employees. read more

I have had appointments w Dr Schufelt many times over the years, and she does an excellent job. My concern is the support services, especially the online appointment tool. It takes several weeks to make an appointment, and I took the earliest one based on the online tool. However, when my appointment date and time arrived they had no record. The first question to me, did I mess up and get an appointment at a different office? Not aware of different offices, but made my appointment w Dr S at the location I went to. Of course, they could set up an appointment for me, after another month. So sorry. That doesn't work for me. I will be going elsewhere where the support services are as good as the Doctor Update: Made contact w Doc who was able to resolve issues and get me in quickly. Except for the earlier blip, great service and attention to my optical needs. read more

They completely messed up our insurance claim but the real issue is that we have tried to call and ask a question 3 times. No one answers you have to leave a message and it has been over a week since the last call and no call back. Go anywhere else and you will get better service. read more

3-31-2021 Got an appt. online for their 40% off on lenses and today was the last day, so I took advantage of it being I don't have insurance and needed to get my eyes checked as it's been at least 4 years. I came in earlier and most of the time spent waiting for the eye Dr. Two patients came after me and was both taken before me. The eye Dr. herself said that she'll be with me shortly after taking the one pt. Then took another pt. By that time I was getting upset and asked the girls working there why I wasn't being seen. It was 2 pts. getting their eyes dilated. I didn't know that. So maybe should tell a pt. that as I've never been there before. The lady that did the tests on my eyes was very nice as was one of the others working there. I just wished that she had the machines a bit lower as it wasn't very comfortable. I never had that test before and it shows your eyes. So it was good that I got that and paid a little more. I was going to leave as it was almost an hour and spoke to both ladies. They were very nice. I decided to stay as my son had his eyes checked here and she did wonderful with his vision. Better than the other well known optometrists he went to. She was really very nice. I picked out 2 of the cheaper frames and the one lady was kind enough to help me. It came to be cheaper than America's Best. I can't wait to get my glasses! She even put nose pieces on my old glasses. Thank you for being so kind to me. I don't think that I will go anywhere else. Maybe next time I'll spend a little bit more on frames. 9-8-2021 Went there to get my son his glasses. Noticed that my frames had been cracked and almost broken off by the screw that was replaced about a month ago. Don't know why she left it that way. It took her a long time to find the right screw and she ended up helping someone else. Then someone else was working on them. I wasn't very happy about that at all and had to tell the lady helping my son. So she ordered new frames. She was very nice to us and tried working out a better deal with my son. Wish I was told about any warranty when I bought the glasses but wasn't. As it's been years since I was there. 11-2021 My son got his glasses but was told that this would be the last time they will replace the lenses. Excuse me? It was their fault that they didn't put the coating on one of the lenses that he paid for and that they forgot to charge him for it. Then he waited almost 3 weeks for them to come in and kept calling them to check. It was something with the lab that they wouldn't elaborate on. What kind of service is this? Not his fault that the lab screwed up. And the lab screwed up again on the same pair. Has a noticeable scratch whoever put the lenses in and lines before the bifocals on each side. He never had any issues with any other place he went to. He paid a lot for his glasses too. Perhaps they need to get another lab. Very disappointed in their service. This kind of customer service is unacceptable. Need to find another place to go to. My lenses are showing cut marks along the edges again. Not my fault that the lab keeps screwing up. I wonder what they're going to say to me? I had to get my lenses replace 3 times due to the cuts on the edges showing through. I never had this happen to me with plastic lenses from anywhere else. I paid a good amount of money for them as I have no insurance. Not sure if I'll be going back as some of the ladies aren't as nice as the other ones. The newer lady is really nice as she apologized to me and the older one. But don't like the other ones as well. 4-27-2022 I called to get an appt. for the 40% off lenses sale and no appts. until June. I don't have insurance. 6-2-2022 I called to book an appt. as I got an Email saying 40% off with frame purchase! Got an appt. for the end of June but when I asked her about the lens special she said she got the same email and that it was just 30% off, so I cancelled as 30% off isn't enough as 40% off is expensive enough! I've checked your website and it says 40% off on specials! I called back and this other lady told me it's 40% off but no more appts. in June and the other lady I spoke to had several on the 29th! I'm very frustrated with how things are mishandled here! read more

I will never get glasses from Shopko again. I had a really bad experience from start to finish. when I went to pick up my glasses, they had been made with the wrong frame. Then I learned that I was charged too much money. Next is took over a month to get the correct ones to me. Lastly, no one called to tell me that my glasses had arrived. I only found out when I called. All of the staff and the manager are really rude! read more

I found out that Shopko Optical has gotten my prescription wrong for the past few years, for both my glasses and contacts. I've been having problems with migraines and eye-strain. After moving to a new state and seeing a different optometrist, I was told my prescriptions were way off. By a diopter at least. After getting new glasses and contacts with the correct prescription, the headaches have gone away. These headaches could have been prevented if I had gotten fitted correctly in the first place. read more

This was my first experience getting an eye exam (i am 29) and I feel they did an excellent job. I had an appointment and was pulled back before my appointment time. Every person I interacted with was professional and had a smile. I primarily live in Florida where eye exams average 80 bucks so I was more than pleased with the $56.00 exam especially because it was extremely thorough. I would absolutely recommend this place to anybody. I will be back again in two years for my next exam. read more
