I had a great experience. Fluegge replaced the lenses on three pair of my glasses. Two pair were progressive and the third pair were "musicians" glasses designed to maximize music reading with just a small portion dedicated to distance so the conductor can be seen. They are amazing. I wish I had known about them years ago. I highly recommend them. read more

I called this company after being told by my local Eyeglass World that the type of lenses that I've been using for many years, Nobody makes those anymore, they're old school. Well here's proof that they are still made!!! I sent him my frames, they got there in 3 days and I had the back 3 days later!!! Fluegge Optical - Business card and eyewear - Eyewear & Opticians Near Me - Waterford, Wisconsin

So, we've been customers here for a few years. My last experience was far from perfect. Mistakes happen, but the response from Dale whom I guess is the Manager was NOT acceptable. I brought my latest subscription in and my retail experience was everything I expected. Now that I live in OH I had my glasses mailed to me. When shipping they put the correct address on my invoice which was in the package but they put the wrong address on the mailed box. After driving 90 miles to where they supposedly were at, I had to drive to downtown Cincinnati to the Post Office. Like Milwaukee, I had to find parking in a garage then walk two city blocks to the post office. I waited for them to find my package since the mailing address was not correct. After about 20 minutes of waiting, I was told they no longer had the package but had forwarded it to about Post Office across town. I paid my parking garage bill, and drove to the next office. Went in and explained my situation and waited another 20 minutes for the Manager to tell me they don't have it. They took my name and number if it showed up. I drove home with no package and the trip was about 5+hours as my residence is about 60 miles from downtown or a 90 minute drive one way. My glasses arrived by mail the next day as someone realized the zip code had been written down wrong on the box. I called to pay my invoice and asked for a discount for the 5+ hours invested during my workweek for their mistake. Dale was asked by the clerk about my request, and not only was he not good enough to pick up the phone, but said that if his $50 discount wasn't good enough I could just return the glasses. 5 plus hours of time and a $50 credit on a $600+ bill. And if I didn't like it, I could return them. Anybody's 5 hours of time worth $50? Don't like it, just return the glasses. Thanks Dale- I guess you don't value your customers or should I say your past customers. read more

took my kirk and kirk frames to be adjusted and to put progressive lens on one of them Dale took the time to fit my needs pleasant and excellent service overall. They r the only 4 optical places that service all kinds of frames.in the nation. read more

Fluegge Optical offers a huge selection of frames and spectacular service. It's worth the drive to Watetford.

Fluegge's was better than I ever could have imagined!!! We'd been looking for MONTHS for oversized glasses for my son (who has autism and a big head) but regular stores only have frames that go up to size 59 or 60. Since our insurance (United Health Care Medicare) will not cover internet opticians that have some of the larger frames, UHC (wasted our time and) had us call and/or visit dozens of brick and mortar stores to see if, by chance, they'd have something in stock for him. We even visited a custom eyewear shop that would have cost well over $1,000. I eventually called the Froedtert Hospital Eye Clinic to see if they had a suggestion where to go, and Dr. Healy recommended Fluegge's. A difference of night and day. Dale Fluegge is a FOURTH GENERATION OPTICIAN. Well, what does that mean for you/me? This is what he did. He first showed my son a few more flexible frames, but then said he could even fix the frames my son was already wearing so there'd be no need to buy new ones (because the change in prescription was so minor). ??? Those frames were from Warby Parker but never fit right, even after multiple visits back for adjustments. The temples dented in the sides of his head and the bridge part was constantly falling down his nose. I was pretty skeptical, but also curious. Dale took the glasses "in back" and came out a few minutes later with them fitting my son better than ever!! He attached/drilled in nose pads from the inside (where there were none before) so they stayed up on his nose, and then swapped to a different hinge to attach the temples at a different angle, and VOILA!! Fixed up and fitting better than ever, and at a cost of ZERO. Custom one-thousand-dollar frames not needed. I HAVE NEVER HAD AN OPTICIAN DO THAT, HAVE YOU?? Basically create a better fitting frame than it was initially to provide the best possible fit. All these years, we try on all these frames and no one says anything about adjusting the separate parts of the frame so that the glasses fit perfectly because the sales people don't know how to do it!! Well, this FOURTH GENERATION OPTICIAN can do wonders with glasses, and we're never going to anyone else ever again. THANK YOU, FLUEGGE OPTICAL!! read more

If you love wild and weird frames, you will find a ton of options here. The store itself is attached to a little cafe and shares a parking lot with Walgreens. I ended up leaving empty handed because I'm picky, but before I left, they offered to replace my current frames' nose pads for me. Really, really awesome service here; definitely worth the drive. read more

My wife wanted executive lenses (distance on top, straight line across the full width of the frames, and full width close up below) no one near us makes them anymore. We were able to get them made long distance (we're in AL) with no problem in a few days, most of the delay was for shipment. read more

Not your tipical eyeglass place... This place upon arrival I noticed is clean, staff is friendly and a wide variety of frames to choose from... Please note this is not the place where you get your eye exam, this place you bring your prescription and they will make the glasses for you.. You can purchase the frames from them or bring your own... Their prices are very market competitive. They have a lab in house so if your lenses are in stock you can get them within an hour depending how busy they are. Staff wears mask and zanitizes between customers who sit on their chairs (covid times). No lavatory available if you are waiting for your glasses. Place is very busy they seemed a bit short staffed but they are super nice. I highly recommend read more

I called from Maryland after being told no company in Maryland makes Executive Lens for bifocals anymore. I can't use progressive bifocals because Macular Degeneration has destroyed my central vision in the left eye. I have used Executive bifocals since 1992 to sustain my peripheral vision. Fluegge Optical was ready, willing and able to serve me from another state with pictures of me, my glasses and a copy of my prescription. Fluegge is my vision and my life saver!! They were wonderful to work with, fast and efficient at getting the job done despite they many miles between Wisconsin and Maryland. read more

After reading all of the bad reviews in my area, one of my local Optical stores recommended this place for a prescription eyeglasses. Even though it was 40 minutes away, I decided to check them out. And I'm so glad I did! Huge selection of designer frames with A wide range of prices. Staff is very knowledgeable and friendly and I was able to walk in and have my order promptly processed within 40 minutes with several people ahead of me. They have their own lab which is outstanding for a quick turnaround. read more

I have a very difficult Rx to fill for my eyes that are quite myopic and with a marked astigmatism. I can't tolerate the single line bifocal, it drives me nuts. Fluegge's have been filling these difficultRx with transitions for me for a LONG time and they are most often spot on. Rarely do we have to remake a lens, and if they do, it is spot on. I have had optical depts from ophthalmologists offices as well as optometric offices and Fluegge's consistently have helped me make a great world crisp for me to see. Touche` for the great work AND the friendliness of every staff member. I never see a face leaving the office with a frown. They also carry quite an array for frame styles. read more

The best place for glasses in the Milwaukee area. A great selection, fast delivery and EXCEPTIONAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Cataract surgery gave me 20/20 distance vision, but nobody told me I would completely lose my near and intermediate vision. When it turned out that I still needed prisms for near but not distant vision, I was told it wasn't possible for one pair of glasses to provide both, and that I'd be stuck using multiple pairs of readers for the rest of my life. I'm so glad I refused to accept this and started looking around online for someone who could help me. The glasses that Dale Fluegge made for me are perfect, and I'd have been happy to pay several times what he charged. If you've been told that the glasses you need are impossible, you owe it to yourself to talk with Dale, who doesn't know the meaning of the word. He is a true craftsman with a passion for serving those of us who have been left behind by companies who want the profits from churning out thousands of easy-to-make lenses a day. Truly, he is a modern-day miracle worker! read more

This place rocks!! I took a pair of sunglasses that the nose piece had come off & I thought I would have to throw the glasses away up to Fluegge & they repaired them for me no charge! While I waited there for the repair there was no high pressure sales tactics to try & get me to buy a new pair. This was my first experience with them & I left with a great impression that I will remember for a long time! If you need prescription or sunglasses I would highly recommend them. read more

I discovered Fluegge's Optical when I moved to the Burlington, WI area more than 20 years ago. Their on-site lens-making lab was a plus for me because I'm myopic and have to wear my glasses constantly. Too, my three jobs require close-eye work and strong frames. The Fluegge's staff is attentive, and the customer service and fast finishing are unique in this modern era of "send it out, we'll get it back eventually". My husband has had bad luck with other optical services in Burlington, who made one pair of his glasses wrong, and completely ignored or forgot another. I told him I'm sticking with Fluegge's because they find prescription mistakes, and they're very careful in making lenses and getting them ready and fitted in a few days. Not only is their service good, they offer a selection of frames that's the widest (sometimes wildest!) I've experienced. My new prescription lenses were ready in four days, and my new frames are different as well as a pleasure to wear. read more

Pat was nice and helpful, everywhere is a little too pushy for my taste, but overall nice and pleasant. The other older man there was cranky and not very nice to my daughter and commenting about here to the people in the back (hey the door swings and we can still hear you, dipwad!). He made my 5 year start to cry so I calmed her down, gained composure, and then we set everything down and walked out. Horrible. Will never be going here again. read more

I think that this company and all employees are top notch. Their greatest concern was that I would get glasses that would help me see I have several vision issues which make getting glasses correct rather hard. Owner called my eye dr to make suggestions re the prescription to get my best script ever. I will never go anywhere else, ever. Prices are in line with other places and great frame selection. Just a great place to go. read more

My daughter is a challenge when it comes to wearing her glasses and she has needed them since an infant. She is also a ball of energy, so the idea of taking her to get new frames is daunting. Fluegge is a haul for us, so we have gone to other providers in the past, and their service and selection makes it worth the drive!! So many places are not willing to work with parents and kids to get appropriately fitted glasses. We've been sold frames that are too big and bump into her eyelashes. No wonder she didn't want to wear her glasses. Kathy T. was nothing short of amazing. She took time with me and my daughter to get THE RIGHT FIT! The glasses stay on her face and look appropriate. They have won me over and I will always take my daughter back here! read more

Worth 5 stars for customer service! The employees work very hard to ensure comfort and fit. Kathy was especially helpful in finding the "perfect frames" for me! It's worth the drive for the service Fluegge provides. read more

I cannot say enough positive things about this store: they selection is outstanding and then customer service is both friendly and highly professional. This is not a big box store with an optical shop tossed inside and crewed by college drop-out and retail relics. Fluegge's staff are not only knowledge about eyewear, they are consummate professionals and skilled craftsmen. Don't worry if there is a short wait to talk to a staff member-- trust me it will be worth it! They are very busy on Saturday, as people come from great distances for their services. Wear glasses or contacts? Then THIS is your optical store!!? read more

Another great weekend at the Fluegge Optical Customer Appreciation Event. From the best selection of eyewear ever found from normal every day to let your Elton out at a price that will beat anyone with lens so clear it is like looking through nothing AND AN EVENT you will look forward to every year. Once a Fluegge, ever a Fluegge. They sure know how to throw a party to thank their customers. Do Wopp Band, games, contests, prizes, drawings, Lions cooking the hamburgers and hotdogs, soda, ummm cupcakes from Gooseberrys, oh, and did I say kettle corn and kettle caramel corn that gives their freshest tootsie rolls ever a run for it. Great eyewear, great party. What more could a customer want. read more

After taking a difficult prescription for bifocals for a 2 year old (poor kid) to Walmart Vision Center three times to be corrected (they never did get them right), the vision center clerk recommended Fluegge's. It's a little off the beaten path, but I've had six pairs of glasses made for my son as his prescription changed rapidly year to year, and each time it was checked by the pediatric ophthalmologist, the lenses were perfect. While the lenses cost a bit more to start with than Walmart's, once you start adding on extras like coatings and Transitions, it actually ended up cheaper to get the lenses at Fluegge's too. Also, unlike Walmart, they do most of the stuff in house so you get the lenses in a day or two, not Walmart where you're waiting for a week or more and there's no guarantee when you'll get the glasses. Also, when my son broke the frames a couple of times doing boy stuff like getting hit in the nose with a field hockey puck, they replace them, free of charge, no questions asked, done and done. Service is excellent, they have eccentric, ever-changing artwork for sale like a mini gallery, free Tootsie rolls for the kids, doo-wop music and designer sunglasses, it's a hip place to get some shades....and its ladies room is worth the trip out to Waterford just for the mural. No, really. read more

It's not every business where the owner himself serves you and gives you personal attention for several hours, but that was my experience as a first-time Fluegge customer. Dale was thoroughly professional, extremely personable, and was able to install new lenses in a pair of 250-year-old frames that two other optical shops had turned down as being too difficult. I drove 70 minutes from Illinois to use this shop, and it was absolutely the right decision -- I have found my new optical provider! Thanks, Dale and everyone! read more

I found the people to be knowledgeable, very friendly and helpful. Prices were quite fair. This is one of the best in the area. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because they don't have that many high end frames. They did have Cartier. Due to their location, I would assume that their market is not high end fashion. If you are within driving distance, you should go to this place first. Second, actually because Costco is the most cost effective place. Costco charges only about half of what fluegg charges. Some Milwaukee are high end opticians are charging $650 for high index progressive lenses. Fluegg was about $400 and Costco is around $250. Unfortunately, Costco doesn't have great frames but fluegg does have fairly good frames at Fair prices. read more
