Visited Stanton Optical today and was beyond disappointed, 2 pairs of glasses and an eye exam for $79 , how about zero glasses and an examination including being bumped in the face countless time, the woman forgot to save the results to her data file? again bumped in the face multiple times? really?? then another worker whispers to me to go to Best Buy?? Nick was outstanding he really did a great job I can't thank you enough for staying late to finish for me seeing as I broke mine and came in at 6 with a 7pm close time. I was in and out in under 2 hrs Exam then time picking the frames and then making them. I am waiting for the second pair because they are progressive lenses so it will take about 2 weeks. The fact that I was out of state and needed a pair was so upsetting but he made it super seamless and painless. His knowledge and expertise was so welcomed. I will keep updating this review as the process continues till I get the 2nd pair and then when I return to get contacts. I paid almost $400 for glasses that were the wrong prescription. I had to go back in and see dr and he told me the virtual dr got my prescription wrong. I was originally told I had astigmatism in one eye and my prescriptions were wrong on both eyes too. Turns out I have astigmatism on both eyes. No wonder the glasses they gave me were useless and giving me headaches. Now I have to wait a month to get the fixed glasses. No apology for the inconvenience either. No doctor on site, went there because I was going on vacation in 4 days and needed new glasses and contacts. I told them I was there for 2 glasses and exam for 79.00. The sales manager did the vision test. I was than told that the glasses and contact and would take a week or so. Since I had the prescription I ordered glasses and contacts-from another company and paid to have them overnighted. The prescription was wrong and couldn't see anything. I went t back over my bill and they charged me over 900 dollars. I am getting the run around from them, and the glasses and contacts I have overnighted are wrong so I am out that money too. No glasses or contacts for vacation and am so angry and when I call them they are no help. I had the best experience with my glasses once again. I stopped at Stanton because I scratched the lenses on my glasses. I purchased the warranty when I bought my glasses 3 months ago...well worth it. While I was there I decided to buy another pair of glasses. Heather was so helpful. She included the rest of the team members to give their feedback also. I had 2 women and 1 male give their feedback, it doesn't get any better than that. I have always found picking out glasses to be dreadful. I truly love Stanton Optical in Kenosha. My husband took my son in-law here and was quoted $489.00 for 2 pairs of glasses instead of what the HUGE sign in the window stated with no fine print 2 pairs for $79.99. Wouldn't recommend to anyone. They do not tell you there is not a doctor on site at all. This is a virtual appointment so the chance of getting a good exam is not good. This is why the service cost is so low. My prescription was completely wrong when I called the corp office gave me an appt and not 5 minutes later the store called and said they couldn't do that time after their screw up because the staff didn't want to stay. I absolutely love this place! They are a breath of fresh air to the flood of optical places in the area. The staff is very personable and they have a great selection of frames. I'm still getting compliments on my prescription sunglasses even a few years later. But I really came on here to compliment the store manager Chris Hofius. He is wonderful and deserves mention. I came in to have him fix a pair of glasses that bent after my garbage can lid blew into my face on an exceptionally windy day. They weren't a pair I bought there, but he fixed them on the spot! Would be zero if possible. Told sale if you buy 2 pairs of glasses. Did not show on receipt. Virtual eye exams so not sure if accurate. Contact club "free" but there was a charge. Without this club cost was well over $2 thousand for 2 pairs of glasses(nothing fancy) and 6 months of cheap contacts. With the "free" club discount still $1163. I have never in 30 years paid anything near that for the same stuff. Dude who said he was the general manager had a very snotty bitchy attitude, almost got a throat punch. They charge you hundreds when the sign says $79 and then they get your prescription wrong and take a month to fix it and then when it's still not right and you get a refund they fail to refund your insurance company so now I can't get frames and lenses anywhere else for two years. Heather and Chris were absolutely amazing! They fit us in in a pinch, gave honest but kind opinions when trying on glasses, made sure we were very well taken care of, and were speedy when getting our glasses ready as we were in a hurry. We lost our glasses in a lake so we needed them asap. They made personal connections and make you feel like you are in great hands (because you are)! They were able to ship to Denver since we were visiting from out of town, which was great. Overall 10/10 experience! Definitely would recommend this place. read more

Kudos to Chris Hofius, Brand Manager at Stanton Optical in Pleasant Prairie, WI! I purchased my glasses at the Stanton Optical in Santa Fe, NM six months the ago. While traveling through the area, I broke the frames. I happened to notice the Stanton Optical location close to my hotel here and decided to stop in to see if they could offer me any options. Chris was able to locate the exact frames that I had broken, swapped the lenses and I only paid 20% of the original cost of the frames. Stanton's warranty covered the other 80%. read more

Went in for an exam. When my glasses came back, the prescription was completely wrong. Come to find out, the person operating the "telehealth" system isn't an eye doctor. They collect the data (obviously not well) and send it to a doctor who then writes the prescription. I lost hours of work coming back in for re-exams for my son and myself in addition to somehow paying way more than the promotion for our glasses. When I called to complain, they actually hung up on me. I'm not altogether surprised though - every time we were in the store I overheard the staff grumbling to each other about one another. All the bad reviews are correct. We are currently in the replacement stage where we have to pay 20% even though we bought a warranty. We are week 3 of the replacement. They have to order the frames, they cannot tell you when they will arrive, they do not have them connected to your account (they check the shipments each day). Stanton Optical is a 'get what you pay for' type of business. The staff is limitedly trained and the eye exam is a version of telemedicine in which you are interacting with a tech on a webcam and with automated devices. The glasses are of low quality but usable. They were very willing to sell me scratched glasses so protect yourself in paying attention to the products you and service you are receiving. Very cheap frames and it becomes very expensive, even they lure you in with the club membership which is advertised at $29 and they charge $40. Although the Designer frames broke in a short period of time they refuse to replace them, with the so called club you still have to pay 20% . My overall experience with Stanton was positive with one exception, which I will mention later. Heather was very efficient and attentive while preparing me to visit with Dr. Begotka. I had special circumstances that needed to be communicated to the doctor. Dr. Begotka was made aware of my circumstances and was able to address my needs, fully understanding the situation I was dealing with. After my exam he sent me out to pick out my frames and complete the process. This is when I encountered the only negative contact during my experience. An associate whose name I believe is Jade, began to explain my options for frames. She then left me to speak to a newly arrived walk in customer. I fully expected her to return to me to complete my purchase. I was mistaken, as after waiting for longer than I felt reasonable, I finally asked if she was going to return and was subsequently told that Heather would take care of me. Leaving an existing customer to answer numerous questions from a "walk-in" is not what I would consider appropriate conduct. I hope that my prescriptions once they arrive, reflect the professional attitude of Heather and Dr. Begotka. read more

I hated my experience here. They lure you in under the guise that you will get a free eye exam and two complete pairs of glasses for $60. NOT true. I got one pair of glasses and still ended up paying $110 even with my vision insurance. When I picked up my glasses the first time the prescription was wrong, and they had been so badly distorted during the lenses installation they would not fit my face even with adjustments. I returned that pair of glasses because I could not wear them longer than 30 minutes without getting a headache. I also couldn't keep them from sliding off of my face. I returned that pair. Got my prescription corrected and picked a new frame. Today I come to pick up my new glasses and the lenses are damaged. I pointed it out to the woman assisting me and she tells me that it's because the lenses are thick. FALSE. There was clearly a gash in the corner of my right lense. They are now remaking my lense for the second time. We'll see if this one is any better. read more

I stopped in to have my eyes examined and to purchase some glasses, the technician did not know how to operate the equipment. Then they put me in a room with a computer screen and a technician located remotely. The technician placed the equipment and I kept explaining that I cannot see. When they gave me my results they were all skewed wrong, I explained to the people that the results were wrong, they insisted that my eyes got better. I kept telling the "refactor" that i could not see eye chart with my right eye. I chose not to get classes there as they would take several weeks to get, and secondly I didn't feel comfortable with the wrong prescription. I went over to 2020 vision in Racine and immediately saw a doctor and they gave me the right prescription for my eyes and told me that santons have inverted some numbers. They said this can happen when the "doctor" is remote I would never use and I service where there is not an actual doctor, The Dr. supposedly was in florida, reviewing my numbers. I dont believe they had a Dr. check anything. Don't use this company they kept insisting they were right. Lastly I had a difficult time getting them to refund my money for the wrong eye prescription It was the worst experience of my life dealing with a company who Is has an important health role Go anywhere but stantons. read more

My experience was horrible here. No one knew how to operate the equipment, so I had to wait for the workers to sort themselves out for about 45 minutes. Finally one of them gave me an exam, and it was incorrect. I was ushered into some skype call with an optometrist that couldn't be bothered. I then paid for my glasses that they lost the order on and took days longer to get set up for me. Never again. Even Walmart has a better version of this. read more

I was pleasantly pleased by my experience at Stanton-I really appreciated that they had an in-person optometrist, but also that they were willing to tell me the PD so I could order spares off the internet. When the glasses broke(I'm hard on my glasses) they bent them back into shape and replaced the nose pads for free. I cannot comment on other bad reviews, but please remember that this is Yelp we're talking about-it's not an unbiased platform. I seen the add for $59.00 eye exam and two pair of glass, I know that a deal like that is to get you in the door, it wasn't ready for what happened next. I took the exam witch was a little odd with no one in the room and then went to look at frames. After a half hour wait an employee took m frames and asked if I would like scratch proof or anything else on my lenses. After a brief discussion she gave me the price $764.00 that is with the second pair being free. i expected to pay around $400.00 but that price is way to much for the quality of the service and the frames. read more

If I could give a negative trillion stars I would. Place is horrible, tried my glasses for a week, told them I couldn't see any better. They said it was my eyes, and nothing could be done. Waited three months for my sunglasses, came with defective arm, figured I'd just get by with them for the year bc such an aggravation just trying to get glasses. Sunglasses broke in 2 weeks. Tried to get them fixed, but they kept putting off my appointment. Couldn't go in bc of pandemic. They made appointments but wouldn't answer door. Poor customer service would stay on phone with me but they couldn't even get the clerks to open the door or answer phone. Such incompetence & the glasses they give you are terrible quality, prescription and frames. Unless you have six months to waste and want unnecessary drama and stress, I would avoid this place like the plague. I was also told I'd get a call from the regional manager, never happened. All I wanted was my sunglasses fixed, like I paid for and was promised. HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE! And their chat on website will not help you if you have a complaint. Normally I've used Shopko, Meijer and even Wal-Mart optical departments, I thought I was stepping up to something better by going to Stanton. Boy was I wrong. This is definetly a step far down. The exam was done through the internet and I thought ok I can run with it. But the contacts they ordered my daughter were so large they folded when she blinked; no one knew of any other options for her. And when I ordered her glasses the tech started just adding extras without asking me if I wanted them. I found most employees to be very incompetent in what they were doing.
