What Dr. Ayers has pointed out as concerns, other optometrists have consistently neglected to mention. By the way, this visit was paid for completely out of pocket, not by insurance. Is it more? I don't know, and I guess I really don't care if it is, since it's my vision at stake. My opinion (for whatever it's worth), is go here if you care about your eyes, don't bother seeing anyone else.

I was there for a visual field test, did not even need to see a doctor, just a tehnician. I waited more than 45 minutes, they finally called me back after I questioned the receptionist. The technician did not seem very adept with the procedure, I told her it wasn't centered. She then coninued to adjust the machine during the test. Another technician finished the test. I then received a call 2 days later to schedule the test again because the test was not conclusive.

Now, however, they have a new trick. Buy a small canvas bag ($0.99 at any store--$2.50 at Ace Hardware, which tells you something about their willingness to gouge the customer for the same or poorer quality firewood) to load up with loose wood and cart it back to your car. Want more than one bundle? Either buy more bags or shlep the wood to your car on multiple back and forth trips. ABSOLUTELY GARBAGE BUSINESS MODEL. Lost all my business over that. No thanks, not interested in paying $2.50 for a sh@tty bag that at any other box store is a buck or less. When I called and complained, the manager's excuse? lmao "We can't control the vendors who aren't bundling it anymore." No, but you sure as @!#$ can choose to lower the cost of the bags, or just throw them in for free and charge an extra $1 for the bundle--bag the wood and have it waiting. For $7.50+ tax, I expect the wood to be in the bag and awaiting my payment and trip back to the car--ONE TRIP. NOT three or four shlepping loose wood back and forth. (And in fairness, they may not always be able to compete on some items as they have less volume on many things.). The recent expansion was a benefit to the community. That said, those of us who are long time residents remember the original Ace Hardware in the Town and Country shopping center that was the place to shop for just about anything in Kenosha. That store was a local icon. I have a feeling that with the right marketing that kind of store would go over well again in Kenosha. I also wish the store hours were a bit longer. But this friendly store is a community asset nonetheless.

Unfortunately due to water and environmental conditions the bottom rusted and leaked, necessitating replacement. Abt could not have been more helpful, in this time of need. The Abt office (Nathan) immediately and fully addressed the situation. The Abt plumbers delivered fast and truly excellent replacement with a new Reliance 50 gallon hot water heater and installed all the necessary copper pipe, valves and fittings---including full labor at no charge. The plumbers (Russell Cartwright and Tyler Fite) installing the unit were very meticulous and highly competent in every detail. They also were extremely helpful and courteous. I have used Abt exclusively for over forty years and recommended their products and service to numerous other home owners--no one has been disappointed. Their appliances and equipment are always top quality but their service and commitment to stand behind and service these products is both outstanding and exemplary.
