We recently had a baby and many moms were telling my wife about the Belly Band. I called my sister and asked her where I could get one for my wife and she told me Xpecting on 17th in Costa Mesa. So I dropped my wife of to get her hair done and the little man and I decided to cruise up the street to get mom what she needed to flatten that tummy . I walked in and the middle aged "OC House Wife" lady was very helpful. I told her my wife just had a baby and she wanted a Belly Band. She asked me what size and color. I said I hand no clue so we got my wife on the phone. We decided on the size and color and I bought both. We had no clue what these looked like as all the moms just described them. The lady sold me belly bands that are for before babies. So when we my wife returned today to return them they told her " they had no clue they why they lady would tell you that." and " we are sorry but no returns." So I guess when a man walks in with a newborn puts his wife on the phone and you still sell them the wrong thing you should probably realize you have an employee who is not trained and take care of the customer. Why? 2 major reasons if you are the owner of Xpecting. 1. I own a Orbit Stroller and I have the biggest mouth about this stroller and you are one of the only local OC dealers. I will personally make sure no one buys from you. I sold two last week for a fact. 2. I spend $ on my wife and so does my friends. I will make a point over the next week to make sure everyone knows you screwed us out of $50.00. I called Milkaliciuos in Aliso Viejo as when my wife told me they were wrong I wanted to get her the right thing. The young lady there explained them to me and even upsold me to the bamboo as it was cooler to wear. I bought to for a total of a little over $100.00. She told me she was headed down toward our home this week and would drop them by. I told her just to throw them in the mail as I knew they would be here in a day or two but that is customer service. In addition she said try them on and if you don't like them just call and I can swing buy her size...Way to go Milkalicous. read more

I really love this boutique. As a first time prego, everything is new, and it can be overwhelming. Stephani, Cindy and Nancy have each helped me at various times from getting the best pair of jeans ever (J Brand), which I've worn at least five times a week since I got them - best investment ever, to dress pants for the office or dresses that make me feel gorgeous and sexy for red carpet events and things like rehearsal dinners. They've even shipped me items, complimentary, as they know how crazy a working mom's schedule can get. I highly recommend Xpecting. Plus, they have a really active presence on Facebook so you can learn about the best and newest products while learning about discounts and when they're being offered; feel free to ask questions there too, they are super responsive. read more

What a terrific find! Any pregnant woman in this area will tell you there is a huge shortage of maternity clothes stores available. I was pleasantly surprised at all the different labels in the store. There are so many great options for every stage of pregnancy. Extremely helpful staff. read more

I bought 2 tank tops while my husband and I were in OC and didn't try them on. When I got home I realized they didn't fit. I called the store and the girl was so nice. Ended up buying a few things from here. The selection it not that big since it's a small store. They have some local made items. The stuff they sell is a little different from mall stores. I got a few ella moss tops. It's hard to find them in stores. But it is not that cheap and they don't have anything is that is more formal. Just lots of comfy type clothing. The staff is ok, seemed a little snooty or fake though although they were trying to be nice. read more

I went with my daughter to purchase a few maternity outfits and we were very pleased at the selection! They have cute styles for the expecting mom in maternity and non maternity clothing. They have done a good job of incorporating clothing that you can wear throughout the pregnancy as well as after the pregnancy. Stephanie was very helpful and offered many suggestions in a non- pressure atmosphere. We will definitely be returning. :) read more

The customer service here is amazing! I visited the store looking for a stroller. Despite the fact that I had my two kids and looked like crap, the store employee greeted me so nicely and explained everything I needed to know about the stroller options. I bought the stroller. Then, when it arrived, they assembled it for me prior to arrival, which I really appreciated. Also, they remembered all the attachments that I had considered and had them there for me to preview. In today's world, it is so easy to order stuff on the Internet. However, this store reminds me of why I enjoy shopping at boutiques-- great customer care. Beyond the strollers, they have adorable clothes and a great selection of undergarments. This place is a worth a visit! There are a lot of baby store options in the area, but I found this one to be the best. read more

No sales tax on strollers!! Saved me $60 on the orbit double helix frame (justified my buying the sidekick tax-free as well). I originally bought my stroller at an online retailer to avoid sales tax, but then this saved me the wait of shipping time at no extra cost. Stephanie was awesome, too. They didn't have a floor model to let me test out, so she opened a brand new stroller from the box for me - no questions asked. I had a million questions about configurations and buttons and she was very hands on and knowledgable (I hate when salespeople ignore you and don't offer to show you all the bells and whistles, especially on something so expensive). When she didn't know the answer to a question, she promptly called Orbit customer service for me. I also had my 2.5 yr old and 3 month old with me. She helped me put my kids into the different seats and positions. She was also very easy going about opening brand new seats so I could test them out. They have a little kids corner with toys and crayons to entertain toddlers while you shop. My VERY high maintenance son did not have one meltdown there - shocking. The no sales tax on strollers policy was enough to make my day. The excellent customer service was the icing on the cake. read more

I finally made it out to Xpecting today from Long Beach. There is no place like it near me and totally worth the drive! I'm due in less than a month and needed direction on nursing gear. Once I said that, they had me in a room with various bras, tanks, and pajama options. They helped with info on best sellers, comfort, fit, and what you'll need in the hospital. As a first time mom, it was exactly what I needed and made the process not so overwhelming. I left with a few basics to get me started and will be back depending on how things in the nursing world go for me. Not to mention, I'll be back for some post baby clothing! So many cute things if I wasn't in the market for the delivery must-haves today. We'd love a second location in Long Beach. You would do well in the shore on 2nd Street! :) read more

People are nice there ( but I think people at most retail stores are nice anyways) but they don't accepts returns. In my opinion, it is not worth it to make a special trip to return things unless it is an expensive item that you are going to use in a long run... like a stroller!!! Yes I bought a stroller there and I didn't satisfy with it. And I m stuck with it. Sucks!!!!! If it was clothes or a small item, sure I could live with it. But a stroller?!?;)$ If I knew that they dont accept returns, I would have not gone there to begin with. I will never go back there to buy even a small item rather I am willing to spend $$ on stores where they accept returns and more than happy to shop there again. This store is amazing! My wife has purchased her clothing there through-out her pregnancy; I must say she is on the fashionable side and LOVES their selection of jeans, dresses and tops. She and her friends talked highly of this store while out with our 'newly expecting pregnant friends'. I never gave it much thought until I went in with her to look at the Uppa Stroller. The only maternity store in OC with stylish, beautiful, well-made maternity clothes. I am NOT a fan of a Pea in the Pod...everything there is ugly, unflattering prints, and seems to be made out of polyester. I was able to find a beautiful long tube dress that doubled as a skirt. They are helpful here and attentive. I want to point out, though, that Destination Maternity/A Pea in the Pod must have recently changed their return policy, though, because it is now 30 days with a refund if you have tags attached. I do understand its a boutique, though, and this is often the policy boutiques have. The only downside to this place is that they are lacking in quantity of sizes. The dress I picked out, i highly preferred in the teal color, but they only had XS left, and did not know when they'd be getting more, sadly. read more

My sister in law and I came from Palm Springs to check out this cute little boutique. I have to say the store has really cute clothes and the staff was very attentive and helpful when it came down to picking the clothes that I would like......now for the disappointing part. I decided on a really cute pair of Paige denim shorts with the stretch side panels (hoping to fit me through the summer months and end of my pregnancy). I couldn't wait to get home to try them out. The next day I decided to wear them and to my dismay I ended up with burns/irritation on my thighs from the panels rubbing. The shorts are loose enough so not sure why this happened. Anyway, I called the shop and spoke with Hailey, who was so nice, and she got me in contact with the owner. Long story short, the owner refuses to refund the $169 I paid for the shorts but instead offers me a store credit. Here's the problem, I live two hours away The other major problem I have is that I was never once informed of the return/exchange policy. I don't fault you for your store policy but at least give us shoppers full disclosure. I certainly would have thought twice about buying the shorts because I live so far away. So now I have no shorts, and I'm out $169! Ouch! Bad business for sure!!! Buyer beware. read more

Great maternity boutique with trendy items. Not cheap, but good for those staple pieces like jeans or work pants. If you're looking for more (e.g., Michael Stars tops), they've got it. I like it b/c I'm not feeling that hot as a pregnant lady, but putting on some cute clothes helps! I'm in the second trimester of my first pregnancy and have not had a problem (yet!) with the fit of the jean skirt or linen pants I purchased from Xpecting, although I have another trimester to see if Krys (review below) is right! read more

Best maternity boutique ever! I'm tall and it is hard to find things that fit even in non-maternity wear but I never had a problem finding great clothes to wear throughout my pregnancy here. As a matter of fact, a lot of what I have purchased will transition to post-pregnancy too. There is often a sale rack full of amazing clothing under $25...you really cant beat the quality and price! Very disappointed with their customer service!!! I bought a dress from there without trying it on ( I had my 6month old with me ) and brought it back with in 10 days and was unable to return it or get store credit!! I used to LOVE shopping here but from now on will be sending all my prego moms to a different boutique! read more

Adorable store. Great clothes at boutique prices. Just took their breastfeeding class with Becky, the lactation consultant. It was well worth the $50; definitely recommend checking it out.
