First time coming here and I can see why it is called Shoe City. They carry a lot of brands of shoes such as Nike, Converse, Vans, Hoka, Ugg, and other premium brands. Upon entry, you are greeted by staff but I can see they watch you like a hawk. I guess it has been because there were theft in the past months so they are careful. They follow you everywhere so it made my shopping experience uncomfortable. I tried on a few Nikes and Hoka but they just didn't fit well. Plus I've seen bettter prices at actual Hoka stores. Meh it's okay if you need to buy a pair of shoes for your kid in a hurry. I agree the owners are rude and yell at each other in front of you. Don't expect anyone to be helpful or friendly here. Check the shoe sizes on each shoe before you leave the store. They have a lot of inventory. First time going into the store and it was really nice inside . The staff and the owner is really nice and very helpful. I came in to purchase a couple pair of shoes, and when I purchased it, I went home and noticed that two pairs of my shoes didn't have the right size length of shoelaces both pairs of shoes had different legs of shoe laces which now I have to go purchase somewhere else. It was just so limited when I went in to looking for hiking shoes. Someone said they have a huge variety and they do but not the shoes I was looking for. They have more walking shoes for children and women. For mens, it was sports shoes that were different from what I needed. The workers all seemed busy chatting or maintaining order. One lady was helpful but the others were in deep conversations with others and each other. Again, they didn't have what I was looking for so I didn't stay very long. read more

Went there for kids shoes. My son picked out a pair of Adidas and we checked to see the price and the posted price was $39. When we open the box to check the price it had a marshals tag and said $29.99. When I went to ask a sales associate about that situation they said it was the wrong price on the price tag. This place calls the local tow truck during the holiday season and gets cars towed away especially cars that are parked in handicap parking spaces regardless of the handicap person who had to suffer in the cold. First off I've been coming here for years . Sense I was a young girl . They always had a good selection like the indoor and great prices but not anymore. They went under new ownership like 2 years ago maybe and ever sence then the selection sucks and the prices suck and the customer service sucks . You walk in they don't acknowledge you . You ask for help they look pissed . The prices aren't even good . All the women's shoes are garbage and probably don't even sell . Title: How is this place still open?? No really! How is this place still open? The prices here are way to high. You would think, being called Shoe City it would be more of a discount shoe store. At least have some shoe deals. Nope. Everything here are regular price or higher. Which begs the question, how are they still in business, and who are the competing with? They are right across from the mall so instead of coming here (where the parking is horrible and a tight fit, and strangely a one way) , you would instead just go to the mall to pay these prices. They are the same. Only difference is that even though this place is pretty big, they don't have all the name brand shoes that you would be looking for at other shoe stores in the mall. My experience with the employees weren't as bad simply because I refuse to buy shoes here, so I don't ask for help. I have only been here 3 times. First time - I thought it was a discount store. I was way wrong. And after seeing the prices got out of there. Second time - I forgot about the first time. Show up, saw the prices again. And was like come on kids, lets go someplace else. Third time - I only came for some shoe laces for shoes I purchased elsewhere. There were 2 employees at the front desk. One of them was on the phone helping out a customer. The other walked away. Updated review, my last review was 4 stars. Apparently I just got lucky my first few times here, last couple times have been a lost cause. The help hasn't got any better, but the shoe selection has gotten worse and the prices have gone up. If you are lucky enough to find a shoe in your size (not just me, I was looking for me and 3 kids, no luck) make sure they aren't factory rejects or returned displays. I found a few pair of shoes that had one side of the sole yellowed. Prices have gone up significantly, I was able to shoe all three kids with $75, now it would be more like $90....if I could find shoes their size. I think I'll hit WSS from now on, but not the one up Van Buren, that store is junk too. read more

I went to a Shoe City store near Tyler mall in Riverside. This store is filled with shoes that are poorly made, of inferior quality, and do not justify their asking price. Yet an employee named Yolanda repeatedly kept forcing me to buy a second pair shoes that I didn't need. Then she started pushing me to buy almost everything in the store. I went in to buy some heelys for my son for a Christmas gift. The people who worked in the store were rude. And not very helpful. When I walked in, one person showed me where they were, and then just disappeared. Then after I hunted someone else down, who was somewhat helpful. But that was after I sought out the help. It wasn't like she was ' making herself available' to me. In fact, it almost seemed as if she was trying to be too busy to be bothered at firs, and the store was not very busy at the timet. When I made my selection and went to pay, I asked about the return policy for Christmas. The girl told me that I can get a refund anytime within 30 days, as long as I had my reciept. I asked for clarification, as the holiday was just over 30 days away. She then said that I could do an exchange, but not get my money back. Finally, as I was about to walk out, I asked where the restroom was. The girl just pointed in the direction of 3 different doors, none of them marked restroom. I asked exactly which door is it, there are 3 here. And all she said was "Oh, someone is in there..." That is when I walked out. I am going to see if I can find the merchandise I bought elsewhere, and then return theirs back to them, so I never have to deal with them again. Okay first to all, customer service, there is 2 Indian folks in the shop, one older nice man, and the other one is like the manager assistant, the assistant has bad attitude, when he was serving customers and ringing people up this dude really said "next" but yelling, you go up the counter and he scans your item and tells you the price, he doesn't greet you when you get up on the counter or anything. Second, the prices, the shoes have a regular retail tag that says 170$(for some Jordan's which is regular on the price) and these dudes put a big tag saying 169$ and call it a sale price, and they're not even the nice Jordan's, these are the regular outlet team Jordan's that go for like 70-90$, also for some reason they RESELL some shoes, whenever they get decent shoes like air forces or random retros they uo charge it above retail, what is the point, no good customer service, no good prices, no good variety, shut down already do everyone a favor read more

A whole lot of "Bait" and some switch. They have 3 huge painted "Nike Cortez" on their windows. Yet, when you go in and ask for Cortez the rude workers are "We don't have them yet" and then changed it to "we had them - but sold them all - and we'll get more in a few weeks - come back then" The upshot, is that just because they advertise a shoe - don't expect them to have it. It's so far the best shoe city I've been to there is an employee by the name of Frankie who helped me just as they were close to closing the store he helped get what I needed if I was at any other store I've would have been treated in the worst manner possible I will make sure to come back for this employees customer service highly recommend coming here just ask for Frankie he's the most helpful employee of that location. read more
