Way too overpriced for t shirt printing. They charged me $12 per shirt for ONE color ONE design. Came back because I was told if I do one design. It would cost less. So one design front and back yet somehow got up charged to $12 per shirt when I paid $11 for first drop off. Yes I already subtracted the $30 fee to clean up the logo. So yes it was $12 per shirt which extremely overpriced for one "custom" color front and back. Oh and the custom color he's talking about was white and I also provided the $10.50 shirt. read more

My first time making letters was a breeze because the person helping me (Emily) was very clear and patient! I was a little indecisive at first but settled for a black quarter zip pullover with embroidered letters with a couple additional details. I bought a set of three sweaters that came out to be about $65 each, but that's mainly because we got so many customizations. The process of actually designing took less than half an hour and the production of my letters took about 3 weeks. It's typically 2 weeks, but they were out of stock in one of the sizes that I needed, but that was no problem. Joy's is great at communicating; they will give you a call if they need to make a modification to get the OK and they call you ahead of time to give you a more accurate time/date of when your product will be ready. Will definitely be back if I am ever in the market for more embroidered goods. read more

The embroidery work on my stole is perfect! I had them do my name and degree. But when I picked it up... my stole was stained. I brought that stole in, in peek condition. It was brand new. I have 3 days for my graduation ceremony and am frantically finding someone to remove the stain. I brought it to the attention to the people at the store and they claimed it must've been from liquor. They suggested champagne and that I soak it in water. I reminded them that I brought it in brand new and I was told "I don't know what to tell you." When I realized they would be of no help, I decided to leave and solve this myself because I have little to no time to find a solution. Why would I bring a stained stole and then get it embroidered?! If it was truly stained beforehand I would have gotten it removed or cleaned ahead of time. It's just so disappointing to see how there was no accountability. I usually like giving small businesses and chance and my first visit to drop off my stole was extremely pleasant but the place is lacking in professionalism. The stain looks like a juice or red stain, not consistent with what they suggested to be liquor. I suggest you take your business elsewhere. I am experiencing a nightmare situation right now. This is a really great company! I recently ordered a line jacket from Joy's, over email, and they called the very next day to confirm the details and charge me for my purchase. The jacket came after about 2-3 weeks after I ordered it initially and it looked great...except it was missing my line name on the right chest under my Big's name. I emailed them and they called me the very next day to apologize and explained that I wouldn't be able to get my jacket back in time for my banquet if I were to ship it to them and have them ship it back; so they offered to pay the amount another company would charge in order to add the line. Fair enough. I checked around town and no one did this sort of work where I live so I gave them an email and they replied the next day with a shipping label (no cost) to their store to fix their error. I won't get the jacket in time for my banquet, and it was honestly a VERY annoying error, but they showed they cared about me and my situation and that is all I can really ask for. Out of the three places I've been to for letters, this is my favorite. They get my letters done right, and pretty quickly, even during the time when more orders come in. It's a store where you walk in and they have all kinds of jackets, a basket of fabrics, and even some items for paddles in the back. I brought my own cardigan in and they filled out a sheet for me with all the details of what I wanted to be stitched on and where. The girl filled it out for me, as she does with everyone's, so that it's clear and consistent to whoever's doing the stitching, and she whites out anything that she messes up so that there is no confusion for what I wanted it to say. They also have a book full of all the fonts, fabrics, and thread colors to choose from so that you can hold it up to compare them to how it looks on your jacket. I put in my order around the same time as most other people do, around activation/formals, and I still got them done within 2 weeks (but that doesn't mean you should procrastinate on them haha, I would still put the order in a month before I need them). All the stitchings were clean and stitched pretty well to the cardigan, despite the cardigan fabric a little bit looser than a regular jacket. The execution wasn't the best I've ever gotten on a stitching (they still have that fabric paper on the backside that I don't like so much), but it can be easily trimmed off yourself. The service and efficiency though were the best that I've ever had with embroidery. read more

Too many good things about this place and they live up to the hype! Ever since I was a first-year at UC Riverside, the university down the street, I've always heard the name Joy's. Seeing everyone's letters from Joys made me slightly jealous of wanting letters for myself done. Now three years later, I have bought several sets of letters now with them! I came first to get letters gone for my little. Walked in, the front counter workers greeted me and asked if I needed help. Their price lists are easy to see and the selection of jackets are much larger than most places. If you need help choosing a jacket and color combo, they are super glad to help and even show you examples of past combinations that they've done. They have so many different types of stitches and thread so it sometimes becomes difficult choosing what you want. So start thinking ahead as well! On average, it takes about 1.5 weeks for your order to be done and during high volume times, 2-3 weeks so give them some time just in case! But when I came in once to have 15 letters done, they finished them within a week! When making large orders of 12 or more of the same style, they will take $5 off each order as their bulk discount. They allow you to pay either in full or half deposit/half at pickup. This makes it a lot more affordable when you're trying to get letters with low funds at certain times. Super affordable as well! I'm a student at CSUSM, but I'm from Murrieta so I went up to Riverside for my letters and I was impressed! Great quality and turn around was a week (I went in March). They were very helpful and patient with me, this was my first time getting letters and I was overjoyed by how perfect they turned out! Letters are always an investment, but I was happy with the price, total I paid $138 that included: - 1 jacket with 3 and a half inch letters with their glitter fabric (bought the jacket there), a sign on the hood and "Vanessa's Little Sis" on the back came out to around $79 - I brought in my own jacket and got 4 inch letters with their glitter fabric, sign on the hood and "Mia's Big Sis" on the back that came out to $59 They have a lot of options as well as other Greek items like paddles, bags, etc. I definitely recommend Joy's. I wanted to make a couples/matching hoodie and asked around for a screen print/embroidery shop. My little brother that goes to UCR recommended this place. It's neat that they have different shirts, hoodies, cardigans, and sweaters to choose from. They also have different brands to choose from (I don't like the Gildan brand because the quality sucks) so I bought 2 American Apparel hoodies to get the embroidery done. I didn't choose from their design but brought my own design instead. I had the files as a .png file and made everything besides the design transparent. The workers there were very knowledgable and helpful. I'm not sure but I think I spoke to the owner too which was this Asian guy. I was pretty skeptical of the place because this was my first time getting hoodies embroidered and so I had high standards. The price was reasonable and I kept letting them know what I wanted and how I wanted it (pretty sure they got annoyed of me but they kept their happy faces on). After I paid, they told me that it'll take about 2 weeks. I get a call back 5 days later saying that it was done! Everything was beautifully made and boy was I satisfied! Embroidery for 3 greek letters when you purchase from Joys - $15 extra embroidery (like on the sleeves)- $5 each place it's embroidered on crests- $12 (same price, filled or not filled) lace overlays / bring your own fabric - $3 extra sparkly embroidery- $3 extra ($1 for each Greek letter), and $1 for each extra embroidery item (it'll come out to $6 for per say, a left arm chapter insignia) If you bring your own jacket or sweater or whatever, it's $30 to put 3 double layered Greek letters on, and $15 for single layered letters. An hour later, I went back to Joys with one of my pbros to secretly get a jacket for my grand big. ~illicit pbro adventure~ Hers sweater was similar, embroidery-wise, except I got a crest instead of the chapter name on the sleeve; it came out to $80. Wallet cries again. I cry harder. A week later, I get a call from Joys, saying that both my letters are ready! Whaaaat?! They even finished my orders half a week in advance, even around crossing time! And they looked pretty good too... I mean, I guess... not like I touched them or sent Snapchats to my pbros of myself wearing them... pshhhh. Installs/crossing day comes, and big and grand big love their expensive-ass sweaters. So I come to Joy's a lot and I'm usually really happy with how quickly and efficiently they take my order down, the timely manner my orders get done, and how my jackets looks when they are done. But I just have to say that there is one employee there, I believe her name is Stephanie, that just NEEDS TO LEAVE. She short one with the short hair. I'm telling you now, AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. Both times that I got stuck with her taking my order were just awful experiences. She is slow and very VERY unprofessional. She often gets distracted in the middle of writing down my orders. She CONSTANTLY stops paying attention to the customer and starts listening in on conversations her colleagues are having even though THEY AREN'T EVEN TALKING TO HER. I'm usually in and out of joy's in at most 30mins but the first time I got stuck with her taking my order, I was there for over an hour and I wasn't even ordering much. Then she had the AUDACITY to tell me that next time I shouldn't come in so close to when they are about to close because it means she has to stay longer to help me!!! I came in long before they were supposed to close that day and I was only there for so long BECAUSE SHE COULDN'T DO HER JOB RIGHT!! From the font to the quality, everything gets a full star in my book. If you know exactly what you want, then you can save yourself a trip by ordering through email and pay a little more for delivery. I've done some orders through email and it was a easy process. But if you have specific fabric you would like to use, you might need to go there. It may be better to call in to ask if they might have it (some times they have extra fabric like lace or camo aka saving you some money). They're actually pretty fast too; of course, they always give you a week or 2 estimate but they usually get it done in a couple days. No Love for JOYS? They deserve wayyy more reviews!! Joy's is THE BEST Embroidery in Riverside to get your Sorority / Fraternity sweaters made at, even if your not from the Area. I remember while being at UCR, people would come from UCSD, UCI, and UCLA just to make letters here, no joke! Zaaaam thats a far ass drive but SO worth it, so carpool or order online (via email) & make one trip just to pick it up! The stitching is very high quality and the owner genuinely cares about how his work turns out and wants his customers to be happy. If there is every a mistake on his part, he will gladly fix it for you (but don't take his generosity for granted and try to lie because You chose the wrong colors and the sweater didn't turn out how you wanted). They have a wide selection of colors you can choose from and lots of samples on their display so you know what your getting. They embroider just about everything and even started making customized sashes for those graduating. Sashes can take up to 3 weeks because the material is delicate and takes longer than other stuff to be made so order your stuff early. When their not busy it takes less than a week and during installs time takes about a week to two. If you need screen printing for a organization, COME HERE! The staff is friendly, always helpful, and can give you advise on what colors match best if your lost. They don't only embroider but they sell wooden letters for paddles as well so you can get just about everything you need in this one store. Joy's recently started shipping their products with a shipping fee if you might want to use this alternative if you want to save yourself the drive. Normally, I like to pick up my finished products in person to make sure everything is correct (spelling, colors, etc) but John (the owner) is a perfectionist and rarely makes mistakes. The best letters, ever. The quality of stitching is comparable to none. Ive seen letters from all around the United States, from websites, and other stores and none of them will ever compare to the quality of Joys. There's a reason people from all around socal come here to buy letters, theyre the best and theyre worth it! Actually their prices are pretty fair considering not only are they better quality but theyre much cheaper than websites etc. That and they have a huge selection of fabrics and threads and they're always willing to work with you on a custom graphic or stitching. You can also get korean stitched on your letters and fun things like hearts, bows, crests etc. For those of you who have never been here its 65 (from what I remember) for a hoodie with letters on the front, tags on the right and left shoulder and the lower back. If you want you can also put it on an American Apparel jacket for a few extra dollars :) which I recommend if you're getting letters for a smaller girl To the person who posted below...yes progressive is cheaper, but you get what you pay for. I go to UCSD, but I brought my butt over to Riverside because I heard about their great service and good quality of Greek letters. I came here last formals season, right after I crossed, to get wooden letters for my bigs' paddles, grab all the letters for my line sisters' bigs, order some cardigans and letters for my twins and faves, and to burn a hole in my wallet, unintentionally and figuratively. I had ordered my letters previously from E-Tee Embroidery in Fountain Valley and had been a loyal customer since 2011, but wanted to check Joy out since I saw competitive prices. (I'm sorry E-Tee! I still make orders for my fraternity from you guys) Each little wooden letter costs from $.70-$4.50 from what I remember, depending on the size, and they also have double lettering, words i.e. LilBro LilSis, and crests and symbols. SOOO you can bet yo bottom dolla, you need to come prepared to spend a lot. I think my wallet took a beating that day. Just looked at my bank account; spent a whopping $533 that day...! WOW TEARS. I'm no baller either. Anyway, Emily L.'s prices seem about right. I ordered an AA cardigan and crewneck and they came out great! They have AA hoodies, AA cardigans, line jackets, baseball jackets, shorts, shirts, you get it, a lot. They offer the cheapest prices for crests in particular, since they do have a large variety of crests they have designs for already. I even had the crewneck spell out "Eunice's twin" under the letters itself, to the right, and it was in the exact placement and everything. Shipping cost was a little pricey, but for each additional item, it's $2/item, and they finished sooner than their expected finishing time. Pros: - good service. They workers there helped a lot of the Greek community create letters, so they're familiar with making letters and what not - large variety of items: wooden letters, mini paddles, shirts, to jackets - competitive prices. $5/embroidery is pretty darn cheap, for one. Cons: - None, really. I would complain about prices, but their prices are competitive, and you can't expect to get cheap letters for great quality anywhere.
