Phenomenal experience! 10 out of 10! I had a Black Magic camera with a bad power port because of a twisted pin. I went in to get it fixed, and Shocked Electronics fixed it in 5 seconds, and charged me nothing! They said it was easy to do, so it would be on the house. The electronic viewfinder in my five-year old Sony camera stopped working during a Yelp Elite Event, which bothered me more than it should have. I let the camera rest and tried the EVF again, but it was definitely broken. I found Shocked Electronics on Yelp when I was in a nearby neighborhood. The staff first checked to see if a soft reset would solve the problem, but it didn't. They called me the next business day with a diagnosis and repair cost estimate, and requested a 50% down payment to start repairs. The repair-versus-replace metric for me leaned towards repair. I picked up the camera the following week, because they had to order the parts. While they fixed the EVF, the fix seem to have caused vertical synchronization issues with the camera's main screen, so I returned the camera to the store. The store diagnosed the v-sync problem as an unrelated issue, but fixed it for free. I returned in another two days to pick up the camera. Overall, I found the service to be good. I could have saved a visit had I completely inspected my camera before I left the store on my first return visit -- i.e., checked both LCD screens, taken and reviewed sample photos to ensure camera function, focus and clarity, etc. That said, I'm happy with my repaired camera. Shocked Electronics is a valuable community resource that helps people to maximize the longevity of their investments in equipment. Store Policies: - Repairs are warranted for 30 days from completion of repair, and only covers the issues repaired. - Make sure you check the repair before you leave the store. - Customers have 14 days to collect their repaired item. As far as I know, they are one of the few repair shops that can get parts from Nikon. From my perspective, Nikon USA has not been the same since it was bought and is a separate entity, again from what I understand and a private equity organization. I'm in upstate NY and my competent local repair guy said that he couldn't get parts. There was a court case several years ago that forced Nikon to sell parts to independent repair people rather than making photographers send their cameras to a Nikon facility. So in the spirit of being a good corporate citizen and wanting to help photographers, they made anyone who wanted parts had to place a $10,000 order. Nice!! This place is a hidden gem of camera repairs. I have a Canon camera about 15-years old which I love using, but the battery lid broke on. I took it to countless places to try to get it fixed, but always got the same response "We can't order parts for a camera this old. You need to just get a new camera." I even went to B&H to ask for recommendations of camera repair places in the city. I also emailed any camera repair place I could find with Google. But I was always getting the exact same response. Finally, I took my camera here. They were honest and said "We're able to fix it for $100 if you really like this camera. But we recommend you buy a new camera." "No, I'd like to get this one fixed" I said. And so they did the job for me - which every other camera repair place I could find in NYC told me was impossible. Now, the camera works great again. I had a couple small problems with a RED camera (Epic Dragon). One problem with my monitor, another with a loose battery bracket on the back of the camera. I called up RED customer service and they told me the monitor isn't serviceable, I'd have to buy a new one (for $2800), and I'd have to ship the camera to California to get the camera evaluated and repaired for the bracket. I've done repairs through RED several times before and was guessing it would mean my camera was gone for more than a week, and would probably have been billed between $350-500. I'm local to Brooklyn, so instead I brought the camera to Shocked. My first time going there. They got to me right away, diagnosed the monitor problem for free, and showed me it was a problem not with the monitor, but with the monitor cable. And they told me they'd fix the battery bracket for under $100 and in an hour. An hour later they called me and it was done. A+, would go there again. read more

My job requires me to use a drone on a daily basis And this is our #1 location to get all of our drones repaired and serviced for the past few years. They usually get the job done for us in hours and we can pickup our services drone same day.
