The interior is no frills, which means they prioritize focus on the food. I got the 2-3 peeps, which includes 16 wings and a large side. I got the garlic noodles, which was a solid and filling choice. There was an option to choose up to 3 flavors for the wings, so I went with Cambodian dirt and wet buffalo. Both were delicious! We tried the Sweet Spicy Garlic wings, Dirty Elvis wings, and Spicy Cambodian Dirt wings, along with fries, garlic noodles, and shrimp fried rice. I was at a Cambodian new years event and this restaurant was one of the vendors/booth. I'm so glad I tried it! These are one of the best chicken wings I've ever had aside from my own chicken wings. I got their most popular flavor, dirty elvis and cambodian dirt. Lol. Their most popular wings dirty Elvis are indeed delicious! Its robust in flavor. Its sweet, salty, a little tangy and when its right out of the wok, its even more yummy. Its savory with every bite! The cambodian dirt one had a hint of lemongrass. Great fusion wings at a decent price. Definitely comparable to Wingstop or even better! When placing a pickup order, they ask you when you'll be arriving and I think that's a great idea for having the food fresh and ready upon arrival. We took the food home and it was still crispy and hot. The spicy cambodian dirt weren't spicy at all and tasted like regular lemon pepper. That being said it was still good flavor & fried well. I'd skip this to try another flavor next time though. The dirty elvis was great. I loved the chili peppers that comes with it to give it that optional spice. Shlap Muan is one of our favorite chicken wing spots in the area! We first discovered Shlap Muan at Smorsgaborg as well as Coachella and was so glad that they had a physical store in Long Beach. Shlap Muan is located in a small strip mall. Parking on the weekedays sometimes during lunch can be a bit tight but evenings/weekends isn't as bad. The shop is very chill and straightforward. The cashier/service is always top notch in case you have any questions about the flavors and wings. In terms of ordering, they have some side items like garlic noodles and fried rice as well as fries (which are our favorite out of the 3 - you can also add dry seasoning from any of the wing flavors). But of course, the main star is the chicken wings. The wings are separated out into the a few categories. The left side of the menu are their standard wings with either dry or wet flavorings and come in increments that double starting at 4. Our favorites here are the Cambodian Dirt and Water Buffalo which both pair well with the special wings. On the right side of the menu are their two special wings. We sadly haven't tried the Tamarind Tiger yet but do absolutely love their Dirty Elvis. It's caramelized, gooey, and has a wonderful balance of sweet and savory without going overboard on either end. These wings start at 10 wings to start with. There are ways to mix and match with some of these options so worth asking! The orders never take too long to take out and not only come out nice and hot but usually the staff is super generous to add in 1-2 extra pieces. The shop also has wipes as well as hand sanitizer as well as some drink options like water bottles. Right now it's time for dodger baseball. There's nothing that pairs with a ball game better than chicken wings. Shlap Muan's "Spicy Cambodian Dirt" is addictively good. It's like a Lemon Pepper wing with added lemongrass flavors. I also love their "dirty elvis" flavor as it's sweet, sticky, and savory and wok fired. Finally made the trek back here from SGV for a second time! It pains me to write this, but the experience was sadly not as pleasant. To start off, prices have been adjusted for inflation. Sophia had mentioned this when we were there last, so this was expected. New menu with their updated prices attached. The good: The wings were still pretty amazing. My bf and I got to try two more flavors--the Tamarind Tiger and Water Buffalo--and they were both really good! The Tamarind Tiger was sweet and tangy, and so good coated in these crispy garlic bits. I'm actually not the biggest fan or typical buffalo wings, but these were incredible! Buttery and so flavorful! The Dirty Elvis is still my favorite, but these are definitely up there. We also decided to add shrimp as our protein to the garlic noodles for an extra $5 this visit, and this is totally worth it! I believe that the shrimp was a recipe that Hawk kept from his parents' restaurant, and they are the best! Highly recommend! The bad: We were greeted by a girl in training (at least I hope she is) while a seasoned guy worker observed and helped when she had questions. We didn't realize that she hadn't put in the Water Buffalo wings order with the rest until our order came out because we were never given a receipt. While she offered to give our drinks first while we waited for the food, she promptly forgot after we paid and told us to take a seat; we waited to see if she would remember but we still ended up needing to go up and ask. Her demeanor felt defensive to me, so we actually waited until the seasoned guy was behind the counter to place our wings to go. The worst (in my opinion): I overheard the girl in training offering this to another customer, and was taken aback when the seasoned guy offered the exact same thing to us. Allow me to elaborate. The premium wings (Dirty Elvis and Tamarind Tiger) are $16 for 10, so $1.60 a piece, while the non-premium wings are $6.50 for 4, $12 for 8, so forth, so $1.50 a piece. The minimum premium wings order is 10 pieces and for the non-premium 4 pieces. When we tried to place our order for a 10-piece of the Tamarind Tiger and a 4-piece of the Water Buffalo to go, the guy offered with such enthusiasm to split the 10-piece order into 5 Tamarind Tiger and 5 Water Buffalo. My issue with this "offer" is that now you're trying to charge us premium wing prices for non-premium wings, since we'd still pay the full $16 for the 10 wings. You are essentially offering to charge us more for the non-premium wings with this "offer" and playing it off like you're doing us a favor. We even clarified and were told that they cannot split between the two premium series, and only between premium and non-premium series. It's not so much the actual cost difference, but the principle for me. Not cool, Shlap Muan. I saw that the new menu now offers ranch (and even a lemongrass ranch) after another Yelp review complained that this establishment didn't, so I sincerely hope that the same consideration will be given to this updated review. read more

They definitely deserve all the recognition, and they hold true to having delicious flavors while the wings remain crispy! I wish they still had their smoothies, but all of the food is delicious, and you can't go wrong with any of the menu options. There were a lot of options which made it so hard to choose but the service was very helpful which made it so much easier to finalize our decision. There's a plaza which should have plenty of parking. The inside is casual looking and you can eat inside with friends or get take out. The staff are really nice and helpful! The food arrived quickly. The wings are juicy and hot. I'm usually not a fan of bone-in wings but these were good. The flavor was strong and good. Not a single note like some other places could be. Although they may have over-applied the flavoring, some spots were a bit overpowering. The fried rice is delicious and rich in flavor. And you get a ton! We first fell in love with Shlap Muan Wings during a Yelp event. We love the crispy wings that are full of flavor and the fast and friendly service. We were in the mood for wings and wanted the rest of our family to try it. So we ordered three different flavors of wings, with one being dry and the other two wet. We called ahead and ordered the Dirty Elvis, Cambodian Dirt, and the Sweet Spicy Garlic. She asked when we wanted them ready. I said we'd be there in 5-10 mins. As soon as my husband arrived they were ready and piping hot! All are delicious! But, the Cambodian Dirt was so flavorful and so ridiculously delicious. These wings are dry and a must order. The Sweet Spicy Garlic, if I had to be picky, could have used a bit more garlic flavor. There are tables available to dine in. read more

For this experience, I got their wings at Cruel World Fest 2025. While I want to head over to their brick and mortar in Long Beach, especially to try those garlic noodles and different flavors of wings, I did the standard wait in line to order at their at a music fest. The folks that were at the fest stall were very friendly and helpful. The menu was streamlined and had 4 flavors and tater tots. I went with the Dirty Elvis wings. I was told this is a favorite and the sauce is based off a Cambodian/Khmer braise typically used for other proteins. Given the wok treatment to get a very nice crisp and caramelization of the sugars in the sauce from the high heat of the wok. Really delicious. Vibe: It's at a music festival. It was the shortest line of the food options at the time, but I was 100% coming here anyway, so bonus! The line was chill and moved quickly. Low stress. Snacking on these crispy chicken wings while listening to the darkwave, goth-y, deep synth sounds of Clan of Xymox will probably be a new core memory for me! I thoroughly enjoyed the food and I am looking forward to someday getting to try other menu items at the Long Beach location! read more

Yummy! Happy to try this spot. I got take out and the dry rub with lemon grass was delicious. I will have to say the wings were on the smaller and dryer side though.. flavor made up for it. I did get an "extra wing" per cashier, but one wing was only half... Simple spot with tables inside if you want to eat there! Shlap Muan totally deserves all of the hype and reputation they get. These were quite literally the best wings I have ever had in my life. It's been like four days and my husband is still talking about it. And they were affordable considering the quality. You heard it here: a wing shop that doesn't completely eviscerate your wallet is a rare find, but the fact that they are absolutely bomb makes it even better. If you've never been and you're coming with more than just yourself, I recommend grabbing one of their family packs. $30 plus tax gets you 8pc Cambodian Dirt (super complex dry rubs that's salty, tangy, umami, and spiced without a ton of heat), 8pc Dirty Elvis (sweet, spicy, super sticky, and utterly addictive), and a large side (soooooo much garlic noodle). But for real, do not sleep on this place. It has definitely earned its notoriety. read more
