Service was quick and food wasn't bad! I enjoyed my side of sausage. The restaurant got full pretty quickly at 9am. It's not loud in there but I could easily hear convos from other tables. There is indoor and outdoor seating. You eat and then go to the counter to pay. Another nice family friendly breakfast place.

Been here for years a great place for home style food .

This is a great place, where the food is always good . When ever you are in the area it is a must. Service is excellent they are friendly. Support a Mom and Pop gem of La Mesa. Definitely want to go back and get a chicken pot pie as that is one of there staples. I shared the French toast platter with the wife son got the NY steak and eggs. We also shared the biscuits and gravy as that is a must. Perfect Everytime.

My last review of the year. Let's see how it goes. First time here. Easy parking and a terrific price point considering 2026. Huge menu with a multitude of options. Including outside seating. At around 9 am, I noticed an extraordinary number of seniors like myself. About 20, that usually means Generous Price Points. Heads Up. Whenever you see a lot of old people, that means the food is good and cost-effective. Will return. The food was good, not great, fantastic, wonderful, but better than most.

Went here for breakfast with my boyfriend. The restaurant is pretty small, very much old school diner vibes, but staff were all very friendly and attentive. I got eggs Benedict and boyfriend got typical pancake combo. Overall it was all very standard, exactly as I would expect. Eggs Benedict was good, bacon was crispy, pancakes tasted very old fashioned. Total plus tip came out to around $52 for two of us, which I see as kinda pricey for diner style, but with inflation these days who knows.

As soon as I walked in, I felt very comfortable. The aroma of the food was just warming and delicious. The whole vibe. The energy there was just made you feel comfortable like you're getting a mill straight out in the kitchen. When they handed you the Food, they reassured you know if they got their order correct you know they wanted to make sure I got everything. They didn't let me leave until everything. Make sure they got it correct I like that. Usually I have to check, but they just made it sure that they double checked for me and make sure I had every condiment. I had even offered me extra time. Everything was good. Know they hurt very they made you feel very welcome making you not want to leave. Made me wanna stay there and eat, but I had ordered to take it home. So if I could next time I'm gonna try to stay there and eat.

I stumbled upon this Hidden gem! Simple, fresh traditional home cooked breakfast spot. What I enjoyed equally than the food is the service. You just don't get good service anymore but this place does a great job. I'll definitely be back. Ps. Yes, I like ketchup in my eggs:)

I very rarely ever order Mexican food for breakfast but when I saw what the refried beans looked like on Yelp, I knew I had to try it. Also, I can tell the flour tortillas are homemade. I ordered the Machaca with a flour tortilla. YUM YUM! I LOVED IT! Everything was delicious and the service was awesome. I hope to come back here sometime again.

Wasn't really feeling the food. Sausage was plain, pancakes had no flavor and coffee was not good.

My friend got the meatloaf I of course had to steal some and it was flavorful and just the right amount of dense without feeling heavy and the other sides paired so well and the seasoning was even through out the dish I got the pasta and I would say we came around 4 pm so this was perfect for after my workout. The pasta was cooked perfectly, the chicken was juicy and well integrated with the pasta sauce didn't feel like the sauce was just sitting on top. The restaurant was fairly empty when we arrived, but more customers began coming in shortly afterward. They have a spacious, garden-style patio that can accommodate larger groups, but we chose to dine indoors in their nicely decorated, modern dining area. For our meals, we ordered the Grilled Shrimp, Beef Bourguignon, Meat Loaf Sandwich, and Classic Burger. Every dish was a solid choice, and I would definitely order any of them again the next time we visit. Normally, we skip dessert when dining out, but our waiter did an excellent job describing the dessert options and convinced us to give them a try. We ordered the Chocolate Molten Cake, which is similar to a chocolate lava cake, as well as the Brown Butter Cake. The Brown Butter Cake was incredibly moist with a rich, buttery flavor and a lightly crisp exterior. Both desserts were excellent, and I'd highly recommend them. Before we left, our waiter mentioned that, as part of the restaurant's anniversary celebration, they're offering 20% off every Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday through the end of August. That gives us even more incentive to come back and dine with them again. Overall, Lemon Grove Bistro was an excellent choice, and I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking for a great place to eat in the Lemon Grove area.

Last time I came, I got the waffle bun and that's what I got again this time because breakfast all day is something that you don't play with! It's what I would consider the most ultimate breakfast sandwich for the fact of not only it's size, but the amount of food that it is stacked on top of each other. Two freshly hot waffle buns with a scrambled egg and sausage patty and freshly melted cheddar cheese. And the best part about it is, you can have it for breakfast lunch or dinner or as a little munchy type meal. They have classic arcade games here like Frogger Pong, Super Mario and pinball. There are a few newer games like a version of beer pong, Halo, Mario Kart and 4-person Pacman. We played every game within an hour and felt a bit bored after that. I'd love to see a Dance Dance Revolution game here! The plethora of beers, hard seltzers and ciders on tap looked like an expansive collection. There was something here for everyone. They even had a chocolate espresso martini on tap. I didn't drink but those in my party enjoyed every sip and got a good buzz goin. I love that you can pay for your drink by the ounce and you don't really have to commit to a whole drink if you don't want to. Perfect to taste test everything if that's what you desire. It was a little smaller than I expected, but it's still easy to spend an hour or two here with friends. They also serve food, which I'll have to come back and try another time. Instead of ordering drinks at the bar, you start a tab by leaving your credit card with the cashier. They give you a tap card that lets you pour your own drinks. You can sample just a little or fill up a whole glass. It's completely up to you. They have everything from beer and wine to a few craft cocktails on tap. If you want to try something different, you can swap out your glass and keep exploring. The same tap card also activates all of the arcade games, which I thought was a really cool touch. It makes everything feel connected instead of having to carry around a bunch of tokens or cash. When I visited, they were hosting trivia night. It definitely brought in a crowd. Most of the tables were full, so walking around got a little tight because the space isn't very big. Even so, the atmosphere was lively. It felt like everyone was having a good time. I ended up trying the Cranberry Mule, which I really enjoyed. It was nice being able to pour just the amount I wanted instead of committing to a full drink. Overall, I had a really fun time here. It's a unique spot that gives you something a little different from your typical bar. Once you're ready to leave, you just close out your tab and head home. I'd definitely come back with a group of friends.
