We just finished eating breakfast here, and it was an excellent experience from start to finish. We were seated quickly, the food was outstanding, and the service was amazing. The ambience was family friendly and welcoming. They serve Farmers Brothers coffee. If you have not tasted this coffee, you must try it. There is no bitterness to it and it's very smooth. I love when restaurants serve this brand of coffee. I ordered the vegetarian omelette. It was baked, generously portioned, incredibly filling, and absolutely delicious. My nephew had the strawberry waffle which looked very delicious. I also want to commend the entire staff for their exceptional service and hard work. They were attentive, friendly, and kept everything running smoothly throughout our visit. It's clear they take pride in providing a great experience for their guests. Delicious pancakes, friendly staff, fresh OJ, and a great atmosphere. The staff are so attentive and there's a lot of seating. The patio is also dog friendly! (For dogs under 40 lbs). They even brought out a water bowl for her, so kind. My family visits once and month and it's a great time every time. I order the pigs in the blanket every time with a plethora of fresh syrup options. It's delicious. My wife always changes her crepe every time and they're all delightful. Great family owned restaurant for locals to support. We went around 0830 on Sunday and by the time we left many more breakfast goers were arriving. We were greeted and quickly seated. We had our pick of indoor or covered patio. We chose the patio. We ordered the strawberry, Nutella waffle, 123 kids meal, eggs/ sausage breakfast and egg/bacon breakfast. Both egg meals came with choice of three large buttermilk pancakes, hashbrowns or toast. Food was good. I enjoyed my bacon and sausage. Prices are very similar to other breakfast restaurants but they give you a good amount of food here. I saw signs about paying with cash to avoid the fees to small businesses. We didn't have cash but they also accept zelle! We had a great Sunday morning start here- definitely recommend:) Oh you can check-in and get a hot chocolate. Really wonderful diner. It's family owned and you'll get the best service here. The waitress kept my coffee always full. And it's a busy place but lots of seating. Got the banana pancakes and thought they were huge and fluffy. Came out quickly. Not much for parking so just be prepared to circle for awhile. read more

Service was pretty good, coffee was tasty, but the food was insanely overpriced and very mid. I still can't believe they're charging $17 for a single waffle with some strawberries with no meat side. Every other restaurant I have ever been to for breakfast would include a side of bacon or sausage with a waffle. And the sausage scramble with ground sausage was really bizarre. Zoom in on that picture. Were the eggs powdered? Why are they little pellets like the ground sausage? It tasted ok but looked really unappetizing, like the whole thing was curdled. For my family's last morning in El Cajon, I was given the task of finding a breakfast place for 9 people. And everyone had their own array of preferences when it came to grub. The staff and food at this cafe were WONDERFUL! They accommodated our larger-than -expected group without hesitation, and served up a super array of breakfasts to everyone's specific requests. Came here by myself for breakfast. The pancakes were actually decent and the portions were good. Unfortunately, the service completely ruined the experience. I felt rushed the entire time, like they wanted me out as soon as possible. Before I finished eating, I stepped away to use the restroom. When I came back, all of my food was gone, my bag had been moved, and new customers were already seated at my table. I had to ask the front desk for my bag back, and there wasn't even an apology. The wait staff was super attentive and even suggested a special yummy coffee, which I thoroughly enjoyed. The food was great, eggs, perfectly cooked and the bacon was cooked well. Very tasty, and thick. Pancakes were good. I don't think they are any more special than any other decent pancake place, but no complaints at all. The sausage was cooked but had minimal browning, that happens at most places. I did request them to be browned more but the request seemed to have been ignored. Pear oven baked pancake was delicious and huge portion. Cheesy ham omelette and I added spinach for some veggies. Came here on a rainy & hailing day, Sunshine Pancake House is warm inside and the colors give you a feeling of happiness. The workers are kind. We all ordered the freshly squeezed orange juice. It tasted a bit different than when I squeeze it at home, not sure if it's diluted or have some extra sweetness? Nonetheless, it was still a solid cup of orange juice. And they give you a big full glass of it. They brought out warmed maple syrup and whipped butter. The butter was whipped so much it was white, or maybe it had a little something else mixed with it. My great uncle and aunt enjoyed it. I ordered the 5 silver dollar pancakes and I'm SO glad I didn't order 10 because these are NOT *silver dollar* size at all. These were the size of my fist so eating 5 of them really filled me up. I started slowing down on the 3-4th one. They were good and cooked nicely. I love golden pancakes, only one was slightly over cooked. My great uncle ordered plain waffle with a side of eggs (sunny side...over easy or something) & bacon. It came out with 4 slices of bacon and he liked that it was a thicker cut than your usual bacon. Cooked very well-- crispy. The waffle was light and fluffy, not dense at all. The eggs were also well cooked with a nice runny center and crispy edges. My great aunt ordered the bacon waffle. It had bacon crumbled on top as well as inside. She enjoyed her waffle a lot saying it was better than the ones she'd get at breakfast places in Texas. I highly recommend this spot to eat at with family or friends. But the food was good. a shrimp frittata with some hashbrowns which was really good. They give you great portion sizes, and the price isn't too bad.
