Great family owned restaurant for locals to support. We went around 0830 on Sunday and by the time we left many more breakfast goers were arriving. We were greeted and quickly seated. We had our pick of indoor or covered patio. We chose the patio. We ordered the strawberry, Nutella waffle, 123 kids meal, eggs/ sausage breakfast and egg/bacon breakfast. Both egg meals came with choice of three large buttermilk pancakes, hashbrowns or toast. Food was good. I enjoyed my bacon and sausage. Prices are very similar to other breakfast restaurants but they give you a good amount of food here. I saw signs about paying with cash to avoid the fees to small businesses. We didn't have cash but they also accept zelle! We had a great Sunday morning start here- definitely recommend:) Oh you can check-in and get a hot chocolate. I didn't participate but I saw the yelp sign.

Really wonderful diner. It's family owned and you'll get the best service here. The waitress kept my coffee always full. And it's a busy place but lots of seating. Got the banana pancakes and thought they were huge and fluffy. Came out quickly. Not much for parking so just be prepared to circle for awhile.

Added the sign because if we would've know we would've brought cash... it makes sense! Awesome food and the service was the kind I like, attentive, cordial, homey and welcoming... we went around 11 am today, forgot to take the servers name (we sat "outside") and they left us wanting to come back for sure!

Mimosa flight...sorry I already started on it lol

I have to make a quick update bc it's been a while. The corned beef hash omelette is still phenomenal. Best pancakes around. The OJ is fresh squeezed. You get actual real maple syrup. All with super friendly service in a cozy grandmas dining room kind of vibe. Oh also mimosas and Bloody Mary's.

This is a great local breakfast spot. When you go inside, it feels like you walked into someone's house rather than a restaurant. The food was good and tastes home made. The service was alright, no complaints.

Sunshine Pancake House located in La Mesa. I only noticed street parking for this venue. Large restaurant that would have no problem hosting large parties. Clean establishment and good customer service. We ordered: Corn beef hash and eggs - delish, large enough for two people or one hungry person Berry waffle - waffle was cooked to perfection! Definitely recommend ordering. Orange juice - tasted freshly squeezed but wasn't very sweet Hot cocoa - delish, it did not taste watered down at all. If in the area, definitely give this location a try for delicious breakfast brunch choices!

Huge portions. We come back for the orange juice and whipped cream. Service is always pleasant. Solid breakfast place.

Everything we ate was really good . Chocolate pancakes , pigs in a blanket , Dutch pear pancake egg Benedict Florentine . Service was friendly and fast

Great breakfast! The buttermilk pancakes are a great texture and flavor. The eggs cooked well to order. The green chili omelet was ok, but wouldn't order it again. Wasn't a fan (not enough addins and unsure aboit the baked omelet). Loved the Crispy bacon. Even the strawberry jam for the toast was very tasty. Saw a Dutch pancake - next time for sure!

I've driven past this place a zillion times, and finally made my way in to try it out for breakfast. The orange juice was great-very fresh! I ordered the strawberry crepes and they were good. Not the best I've ever had, but they were good. My dad ordered the chocolate chip pancakes and said they were pretty good too. The service was just okay.

Charming with tasty food - clearly a fun staple in the neighborhood for years, and hopefully more years to come. I love pancakes and relish just how many different varieties they have. Really enjoyed the chocolate chip pancakes today! And very much appreciate the bottomless hot chocolate, a personal favorite of mine anywhere.

Service was pretty good, coffee was tasty, but the food was insanely overpriced and very mid. I still can't believe they're charging $17 for a single waffle with some strawberries with no meat side. Every other restaurant I have ever been to for breakfast would include a side of bacon or sausage with a waffle. And the sausage scramble with ground sausage was really bizarre. Zoom in on that picture. Were the eggs powdered? Why are they little pellets like the ground sausage? It tasted ok but looked really unappetizing, like the whole thing was curdled. We won't be back.

    Checking this place out.

The food was great! They offered a lot of food for a reasonable price. Great service, food and atmosphere. Highly recommend.

I needed a quick coffee to end my day and after searching the best coffee in La Mesa, Red White and Badass Brew was the first to pop up. The owner was super nice-I didn't get his name-and he walked with me through the menu as I haven't had specialty coffee drinks like these before. I went with his recommendation of the whiskey latte (iced) and also decided to try the toasted tan lines (iced) When I tell you, my first sip transported me back to the 2013-2016 era of coffee culture when specialty drinks were first starting to get popular, I am being so serious. Both the whiskey latte and toasted tan lines were full of so much flavor. The toasted tan lines took me straight back to my trip to Kauai in 2013 and the whiskey latte was reminiscent of a latte I would get in middle school from a Brazilian small business. There was just something so nostalgic about these lattes that I had to immediately write a review. So many coffee shops lack the flavor of the 2010s before companies cut corners and scraped for our pennies, but not here Thanks for the coffee! Unfortunately there isn't an online order line so you end up waiting anyways and they made our drinks only after we arrived and told them we had the online order. That being said everyone working was really friendly and they were working hard as it was busy on Sunday around 8. I got the gone bananas half sweet and an extra shot. My partner got the horchata matcha with extra matcha. Even my drink at half sweet was too sweet for my taste but still enjoyable. Not a strong banana flavor though. More caramel forward. My partner loved his drink but did say it was more horchata than matcha.

You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. They have written chalkboard of the menu that I personally found pretty hard to read but they also have printed menus by the counter which I used. Menu is huge! Options for everyone that you would expect from a brunch/lunch place. I got the green omelette with a cottage cheese side (+$1). The food came out quickly. The portion was huge which is nice considering I felt like the price was pretty high for a counter service place. Definitely was able to split my food over two meals. The omelette was filled with veggies (spinach, asparagus, etc.) and it came topped with half an avocado. Good flavor that was definitely helped by the salty feta. Overall pretty enjoyable but nothing standout.

It's tucked inside the apartment community near the mailboxes, so drive or walk slowly or you might miss it. The prices are hard to beat, especially in today's economy. When I picked up my drink, I said "thank you," and the barista didn't acknowledge me or even nod. Overall, the experience felt cold and unprofessional. I'd much rather make the drive to the Golden Hill location, where the service is noticeably better.
