Horrible restaurant and management. I ordered salmon, tadig with ghorme, soltani, lentil and yogurt soup, yogurt and salad shirazi from this place for to go. When I got home and opened the boxes to serve my kids I noticed both soups were so oily and the lental soup had an odor. The salmon was burned and the rest of the food was very greecy. I called the restaurant to share my experience and the owner asked me to box the food and take it back to him. When I go to the resturant I dropped off the bag and left because my son was very ill with very high fever and I didn't want him alone. Few minutes later the owner called me and basically accused me of eating the food and then returning the containers. Unbelievable what a low life this guy was. It was then when I told him I don't even want refund I am disgusted by him, his food and service. He continued by saying good I wasn't going to refund you and you don't deserve a good food like this. I've been here a handful of times in the past, usually to celebrate a birthday. Each visit is always good. Good food, service and entrainment. Today was nothing short of great! My friend received an email invitation to try a tasting of their upcoming new menu items. Luckily, we were able to RSVP just in time with Brian, as today was the last day we could do this. We received a pleasant greeting as usual from Brian. Nono was playing his saxophone with his electronic band. We didn't wait very long until the food for tasting was brought out by Afarin and Victor. Lamb fajitas, filet mignon tacos, Lamborghini burger, and spaghetti with stuffed meatballs (feta and goat cheese). All of their new menu items were very tasty! Great portions, and very flavorful. We've been coming here for years now. Classic Persian Armenian food here. The interior is not too gaudy or intimidating. Its pretty beautiful. On weekends though they have live entertainment & large groups/private parties. I absolutely love their boneless Chicken Kabob plate. The chicken is perfectly marinated & never dry. Their original white basmati rice is always fluffy & perfectly cooked. My favorite rices here though are their Persian Shirin Polo which consist of almond slivers, saffron & sweetened bites of orange peel. Its absolutely amazing. Their Albaloo Polo is another favorite of mine which is fluffy basmati rice with sweet and sour cherries. I tend to lean toward the sweet & savory combinations more. However, their Baghali Polo is not to be missed if your looking for a healthy alternative to rice. It's a mix of fluffy rice baby Lima beans, & fresh dill. If your looking for Authentic Persian States they have them all. My favorite being the Khorest Bamieh stew which contains fancy potatoes, carrots, magical Okra(not slimy at all) in a rich tomato sauce. If you love Eggplant They have this Bedenjan Stew that's so good with their plain white basmati rice. The slightly sour taste from the dried limes & rich tomato sauce pair well with the perfectly cooked right eggplant. I also love their Borani Badenjan which is fried cooked eggplant drenched in this yogurt sauce with sauteed onions & garlic. Don't forget to enjoy your Sabzi(green plate) served with ever diner. Was not impressed with this place. They should have told me I over ordered instead of having me ordered one of each appetizer dips which there were six different dips for only 2 adults. I ended up not even eating most of it since all I wanted was hummus dip. The rest were other items like eggplants which I said no to but the person must not understood me and brought me all six items. I originally ordered the trout and it has a very bad fishy taste so I had to return it and got the veggie kabob. The waiter was kind enough to replace it without additional charge hence the 2 stars for customer service otherwise would not recommend this place for middle eastern food. read more

Also the price in website is different than I walked to order. If you are considering throwing a party, look no further than Shiraz. Their banquet facilities, food, and service will make your event a great one. We just had a party of over 140 people here and they accommodated us by giving us the first floor and moving the restaurant to the second for the night. I know there are other banquet halls in the area that I could of booked, but none have the quality of food that Shiraz offers. Moreover, I saved at least 30% over other exorbitantly expensive banquet halls in the area which in this economy is always a plus. Bear in mind, they do not serve alcohol, but they recommended a couple of places where we bought our alcohol cheap and they served it for us without a corking fee, thus saving us even more money. They did everything they had promised plus more. The management and waitstaff were very courteous and professional both to me and my guests. I went yesterday for dinner to this restaurant. The place looks fancy very nice and clean. The server was Fernando very friendly and very quick. The food was bomb very tasty. I asked for my free dessert and they let me choose from all the dessert that they have available the one that I wanted. Is a little expensive but it's worth it and you will be full!!!! My mother and I were in the area, usually we get our fix of Persian food at the Glendale Galleria mall but today due to an extremely long line to get into the mall's parking lot and our desire for some lunch we opted to try Shiraz. Our waiter Victor, was super attentive and came back throughout our meal to check on us. He was fast, efficient, and friendly. For $90, we got 4 very small tomatoes combined. We were taking it to a friend's and it was a big disappointment when we got there and saw the food. The tomato finished on the 3rd bite and then you're left with dry meat and rice. For the price you pay, you expect at least a large tomato and a grilled pepper as sides. Initially I wanted to order Raffi's but they open 30 min later and we were in a rush so we figured it should be the same. It was not the same. Quite disappointing to say the least. So we had reserved the private room in here for 23 people but when we arrived on the day of our event, that room was already occupied. Later we figured that they gave the room to someone else. I was invited to a party in this resturant , but unfortunatly everything was disaster. the food was horrible ( beef kubideh was burnt and the rice was not cooked well ) . Customer service was 0. there was not enough servers and the resturant was empty they had only 3 parties . The private room that was reserved for our party , was given to some other people. What a hell !!!!!! The guests of our party were so sad and disapointed and were seating in the middle of the resturant. i dont recommend to do your parties on this place , no guarantee at all that your guest will be welcome and get the best service and food. I recommend the tadig as a starter, and then to split a kabob dish between 2 people. Also, never get just plain white rice. Substitute it with cherry rice, Lima bean rice or the famous barberry rice. Came here a few days ago for dinner. I've been to many restaurants in my day, and may I just say no restaurant has disappointed me to this extent. The customer service was genuinely horrible. Not an ounce of compassion or decent customer service was shown from the owner or the head waiter. Shocked why these people work in the restaurant industry if they hate it so much, because that's the vibe my group and I received from this place. I think Burger King or McDonald's has much better customer service than this place, and the employees actually greet you and smile there. A restaurant needs multiple components to be good, yet this restaurant is lacking in both the customer service department and food department. The food is mediocre, flavorless, and was cold when we received it. There are many other Persian restaurants in the area that exceed this place. The portions are also VERY small and I feel completely ripped off. Just from this experience alone I would not recommend coming here for lunch and couldn't imagine an event here either. read more

I've been coming here since I was a little girl. Although the prices have inevitably gone up, the quality of food has not changed. Shiraz is my favorite Persian restaurant in the area, and the Glendale location is much better than the Sherman Oaks one. The outside patio is gorgeous, quaint, and well decorated. The interior is very nice, roomy, and feels like a really nice and classy restaurant. Service is great and attentive. You receive complimentary pita, butter, mint and basil, and radishes upon being seated. For appetizers, we always get the dolmeh (stuffed grape leaves), borani (EXCELLENT. Eggplant with yogurt and sautéed onions), and mast o khiar (mint and yogurt dip). The hummus is also very very good. As for soups and salads, the Ashe mast is fantastic. Creamy, thick, and excellent mesh of yogurt, herbs, and cilantro. The Shirazi salad is also a wonderful option, cucumber, lemon, tomato, and a vinegar like dressing which is simple and incredibly refreshing. Their stews are also very good, my favorite being vegetable and herb stew which is very filling and excellent flavor all around. For entrees, you cannot go wrong with the chicken soltani/kebab and the beef koobideh. So delicious, and I also highly recommend trying the specialty rices. Personally not a huge enthusiast for the desserts, but the baklava and rose ice cream in combination with the Persian tea is a good combo. Also, keep in mind that this place does not serve alcohol, but you can bring your own as far as I'm aware. There's also a back parking lot so you don't have to worry about street parking. This place is truly a gem of Los Angeles, and I recommend this place every time to newcomers and friends visiting LA for the first time. read more
