Luckily this place was dog friendly inside and out. I walked in to discover a cool bar slash coffee shop. They had many beers on tap and a wide range of seating with a bohemian style. My baby had a great time looking for crumbs but the place is kept very clean. The bartender was super nice and friendly. Not sure if they have wifi but a few were glued to their laptops. The beer I selected was very good. No food is served for reason two food trucks outside. Outside there were seating areas by an outdoor pit and under giant oak trees. I see this a great place to hang out when the temps drop cuddling next to a fire sipping on something warm or cold.

I like Shipley's donuts! Shipley's donuts are the best when they're hot and fresh, right out of the whatever-it-is-they-use-to-make-donuts machine! They're still decent when they've sat for awhile, just not as awesome as when they're fresh. I'm a fan of the plain glazed and donut holes. This Shipley's is cool because you can watch them make the donuts and kolaches. It always keeps my toddler niece fascinated for an hour or so when we go here... then I wonder what to do with the other hours until I return her to her parents! I am a sucker for good donuts yum yum yum... Every time I have ordered from here their donuts were fresh every time. My favorite would have to be the maple with walnuts. It just melts in your mouth. Of course the traditional glazed donuts are .. well addicting.. They are always so warm they literally melt in your mouth.. Every now and then I wish they were open during the day.. I know your thinking donuts for lunch I know.. I'm screaming at myself for even having this on my wish list.. So maybe on second thought it is a good thing they close early.. After that was handled, my grandmother and I ordered a kolache, milk, a cinnamon roll, and I asked twice for a half dozen glazed donut holes--but that request was completely ignored. The employee helping us (an older woman with glasses) rushed us through the order and came off as rude. After leaving, I checked my account and saw I was charged $10.49 even though my total was $8.47. I usually tip, but didn't this time because of the service, so I was confused about the extra charge. We went back to the shop calmly to ask about it. Instead of trying to help, the staff were dismissive and defensive. One employee insisted the charge wasn't on their end and told me to contact my bank, even though I was just looking for clarification. There was no effort to solve the confusion or apology for how we were treated. This isn't the first time I've experienced rude service from the same employee--she often rushes customers and is unfriendly. I understand mistakes happen, and the charge itself wasn't a big deal. What bothered me was how poorly the situation was handled. Customer service matters, especially when someone comes in with a concern.
