It's a cute place - a blue food truck with options of outdoor or indoor seating with a shabby chic look. Everything, including the trailer single bathroom was very clean. We ordered a full order of the fish and chips, two extra scallops, and a full bowl of of chowder. The batter for the fish, scallops and fries were tasty and crispy. The clam showier was thick, tasty and had a good amount of clams in it. The cole slaw that came with the fish and chips was really good as well. Stopped here for lunch on our way south. The staff was super friendly and the place itself is really intriguing; an extremely fun ambiance. We got the cod n chips which were really good. We came here just because of the earlier reviews. It may be a bad day for Ship Out but I should've known when I asked the guy taking orders what kind of fish was being used. He was clueless as to what the fish was. When we got our order it was hot and fresh but it wasn't worth the 18 dollars for a 4-piece cod n chips. The fish was sliced so thin there was only 1 side and the batter made up the bulk of the order and was very greasy too. The best thing about this place is the seating it was in a greenhouse it was warm and it kept the wind off us that day! I think the food is excellent but the last two times I went they were closed during their "open" hours. The first time I was driving in (30 minutes away) and I placed a pickup order. I got there and they were closed early even though they were open when the order was placed. No one called to tell me they were closing early. When I arrived a girl apologized but was cleaning up and getting ready to leave. The second time, after several months, I called but just kept getting a message saying "No one is available to take my call." TLDR; food is just a hair below "Bowpicker", but there is shelter from the wind and a clean restroom. Better than Mo's by a long shot. A local told us these fish and chips were better than the Bowpicker. They're not. Although they are really tasty, they didn't have tuna fish and chips (the person who recommended told us they did). What they lack in tuna they make up for in ambiance! There is a large covered area with picnic tables for eating. It's decorated with a fountain and lots of eclectic beachy nicknacks for sale. There is a clean restroom!!! We were traveling with kids who would not have done well with tartar sauce in the back of a minivan, so we appreciated the large greenhouse structure for eating and exploring and the fact that there was absolutely no line. After a few minutes they brought us our order to the eating area. Fish was cooked perfectly. Burger was cooked perfectly (just a little pink). We asked for pickles on the burger and they loaded it up! The fries are the battered variety and very crispy. There is a bottle of ketchup and malt vinegar along with paper towels on every table. Two full orders of halibut and chips and a cheese burger ran us $60-ish and fed two adult, two kiddos, and a teenaged boy. Parking is on the opposite side of the order window. There is cute outdoor seating if you don't mind the wind or possibly rain - it IS Oregon after all. We came on a hot day so it was not real comfortable as there weren't many tables in the shade outside. I thought the prices were too high for a food truck, honestly. Our bill came to 90 for 5 people, and we just had entrees and water. The fish and chips were good but the pieces of halibut were on the small side. Everyone enjoyed their food but I just didn't think the portion sizes matched the prices. They only had one salad option (a ceasar) on the menu. You've got your choice of restaurants downtown - or, you drive for two and a half minutes over the top of the hill, and arrive at a place where the locals eat day in, day out. If it was my first time I'd be like "Oh wow, I'm eating in a giant living greenhouse next to a wishing well", but I live here so I get to have those experiences on my way to Costco. We drove 3.2 miles from Astoria B&B to this restaurant because both Google and Yelp has it closes at 7 pm. Unfortunately they changed their hours and didn't bother to update Google or Yelp. Perfect weather allowed us to dine outside at picnic tables but there is a lovely indoor area as well. The fish was cod and it was good as well as the fries and coleslaw. Although Enola's has burgers & sandwiches on the menu, we came in search of fresh, delicious seafood and they came through big time. On our first visit we went for the basics - fish & chips and clam chowder. Next time we just had two bowls of the yummy chowder and most recently we had the cod & prawns with some chowder. Let's start with the chowder. Perfect. Just perfect - the ratio of chopped veggies to clams , the slight smoky taste of bacon , the perfect thickness - not too thin like broth and not thick like paste , seasoned just right - no need to add salt . Served up with a pack of oyster crackers and with a small piece of warm, garlic baguette on the side. Next the fried cod. Dipped in a light batter , fried to a perfect crispiness and not greasy , the flavor of the cod is not overwhelmed by the batter , you get four yummy portions of fish , all accompanied by a generous pile of crispy French fries (not hand cut, but very tasty) and a cup of delicious Cole slaw that's creamy and not too sweet . Now the fried prawns. Take everything I said about the cod above, but with 6 huge, sweet, butterflied prawns ! The same delicious batter, crispy fries and coleslaw. Hubby and I have a thing about food envy, so we are way into sharing. You know how sometimes sharing is hard when you get an odd number of servings? Not here - we each enjoyed two pieces of cod and three huge prawns, a mess of fries and cup of coleslaw. We also shared a bowl of chowder - having a slurp-off with two spoons. My mother and I received light, crispy prawns and large chunks of lightly battered halibut coupled with great clam chowder and quality fries. My only complaints were that the young woman serving food only wore her mask when approaching tables, even after I explained my family had a child with health issues, and the prices were a bit high.
