Very disappointing experience at the Sherwin-Williams in McKinney. I came in looking for help with a color match and expected better guidance from a store that specializes in paint. Instead, I was simply told they don't carry it and to check the wall to find something close. For the prices Sherwin-Williams charges, I expected far better customer service. If I'm going to figure it out myself by staring at a wall of samples, I might as well go to Lowe's or Home Depot where it's cheaper and the service is better. read more

The better choice for outside stain is your local Ace Hardware. They have quart size stains so you can try to match without spending $70 + on a gallon that is non refundable. Sherwin Williams has always treated the retail customer like second class citizens, so I am not surprised by the store management. read more

I've been going to this location for 15 years. It's nice to see that they had a face lift. The outside facade has been updated. The sales associate explained to me that the interior is about to get a make over as well. I walked in and already knew what shade I wanted and what sheen I needed for my paint. The sales person told me about each paint option. The price point and the pros and cons of each. I made my choices he mixed the paint. Then offered to take the paint out to my car. We made small talk about Black Friday shopping. It was all a pleasent experience and as always I was happy about my finished product. read more

Our second time having to go to this location because it's the only SW location that carries the color of paint our builder used. They have the worst customer service and they are mean and degrading to their customers. Tina is an absolute *#%# to deal with and should be fired for how bad she treats customers. I am making a complaint to corporate. Avoid this location at all cost. Update: The Sherwin Williams local are rep contracted me, they left me a voicemail that he was concerned and want to talk to me and make it right. He left me his number. I have called him back 3x and his voicemail is full and you can't leave a message!!!!! What kind of service says "call me we will make it right, oh just joking voicemail is full we really don't care". Get your paint someplace else..... bottom line. read more

I will avoid this location at all costs. They just downsized the store to about 1/3 of what it was and they are trying to use a walky talky system to communicate with the people that actually mix the paint. I waited in line only to have Tina call the person that just walked in, to the front of the line since he wasn't ordering paint. Okay, I waited longer and then told them what I wanted and that it was under an account. They couldn't find the account. Ja'quay didn't know how to look up accounts and didn't want anyone's help. Finally they find the account and call the order to the back. 20 minutes later they let me know that they don't have the base that I need and it will be 2 days. We literally just walked out of the store. We asked for our paint chips back and said we were going to Home Depot. We're actually going to the Sherwin Williams in Plano. The store was empty when we walked in. They were hanging out in the office. We walked all the way to the counter and waited for them to come to the counter to help. Really? The young lady could not explain to us the difference in paint types. She went to the back to ask a counterpart. She came back with an answer. I don't remember what she said. I was concentrating on her hand which held my paint chips. After asking for them back and lying about going to Home Depot we left. We won't return. read more

Walked in before closing and he said he can't match our paint because his closing duties will take longer than it will to mix and find our paint. The other Sherwin Williams did it in 2 min but referred us to this place because it should have builder's grade. We had the color from the builder but he said they don't carry builder's grade and didn't try to find the color. Sorry customers are an inconvenience to your business. Why don't you put a sign that says no service after 6:45 because we have closing duties or lock your doors early so no one can come in. read more

They are way too expensive. Very high and mighty. (this is paint y'all get over yourselves) I needed a quart of touch up paint, they would not sell me anything less than a gallon at $50; even though the lady said that they just pour it out of a 5 gallon bucket. They could have filled up a quart can but they wouldn't. (I even brought in a quart can for them.) Ok. I just opened the can and they only filled the can 3/4 full. Ugh. I didn't need a gallon but you made me pay for one; Give me what I paid for! I am very upset. read more

Bobby is the person to deal with at this location. I avoided this location because of the poor ratings, but found out another location could not give me the paint I needed to touch up my D R Horton home. Bobby went out of his way for me on April 2nd to see that I got the paint I needed, so the touch-ups would match, and they did! Because of him, my 6 yr old home looks like new! very unfriendly store. never greeted when you walk in. they don't even take the time to say "i'll be with you in just a minute" while you're waiting in a long line. once they do help you, they don't seem too glad about it, either. i do NOT recommend this location, or the Allen location. the plano location on plano parkway was much friendlier and less busy. read more

i was in this store this morning .and i am a professional painting contractor...and brought in a bucket.asked if they had a jones blair color in the system.as they have other paint vendors colors in the system..but not this old.which thats fine. i bring in a bucket.with liquid paint in it. for my match..tina the so called manager.tells me to take outside.and open so she wont be sick...from the smell.hello this is a paint store she opens buckets everyday that smell.and i took it outside opened .did not have a odor.then she asked what am i doing with it.i said repainting two ceilings..so it does not have to be perfect.she tells me to go get another sample.it wont match.again im painting two ceiling complete.so does not have to be perfect.i asked if it was a paint store. if so match the paint ...she was so rude Im calling corporate.and her boss.as well and will follow this through to the corporate food chain.ive known her to be with the company over 20 yrs and have heard from other Sherwin Williams store mangers and customers. to give her bad reviews..the store yep has a 2 star rating with all bad reviews..so oviously there is a problem with tina ..and her staff all bad reviews on staff and her.then she walks outside waves smiles..then starts to give me dirty looks really this is the real world not high school tina you are a mess as your store is as well..you will here more about this as the story gets to her upper mangement bosses thank Thomas newton.. read more
