The experts at this store patiently mixed numerous samples for us until we got just the color scheme we were looking for. The SW website had tools to help us coordinate, too. Skip the box store -- you can't beat the knowledge, quality, and personal service you'll get here. You pay for what you get. And to the owners: Thanks for being members of the Naperville Chamber!

It stresses me out, but not because I'm worried about how ish is going to look, but because I literally cannot think of anything more mind-numbing than staring at swatches that are only vaguely varied. Lemme put it this way, I would rather watch the paint dry, than sit there and f*cking stare at eggshell, manila and off-white samples in different light. This is *my* water torture. But alas... it was time for a change, and I *guess* I'm grateful for the nudge. For better part of the last 2 decades and at 2 different houses, I've been living out of a bright orange bedroom. Sounds fun, right? Well it was... for like, the first 5 years... then the next 13, to be honest, were kind of played out. Plus my hair's also been bright orange for the last five years as well, and I think I was veering that point where things were getting kind of creepy... like Picasso's blue period, only I never did anything of value or praise. Anyway, I've been going to Sherwin-Williams for all my wall color needs because my parents recommended it, and they have an account there with all their saved info and I guess there was some sale thing going on as well. I stared at swatches for longer than I ever want to stare at swatches ever again. The color swatch book I had seemed like it had a ton of colors, but then when I got to the store and they were organized so I didn't have flip things back and forth in a book, it didn't seem so expansive... but I suppose I'm glad because that way I could at least get out of there a bit faster. The sales people vary each day and of the 3 days I had gone in, I don't think I ever saw the same person. Some would check in and offer help right off the bat, some would solely work the counter and answer customer questions at check out and the girl on my last visit would mutter annoyances under her breath as she only begrudgingly acknowledged customers and ordered her co-worker man around with one stern B-face. I felt bad leaving him there with her... but he was too old for DCFS and I had to be somewhere at 5 sooo it was outta my hands. Anyway, everything was just fine. Besides the crabby patty on my last visit, everyone else had been both friendly and helpful and we were able to get in and out right quick. My one regret + quick tip would be that I didn't see the Keurig K-cup Chai latte flavor until just this last visit, and even though it was 9,000 degrees outside, I still felt I needed to have a cup just so I could say I did. Amenities are few and far between these days so I make it a point to take advantage whenever possible.

Last night their paint machine was broken so I resigned myself to having to come here to JC Licht instead. I cannot believe the stark contrast in service. I like that hardware store, but buying paint there sucks. You always have to try to flag someone down for several minutes and they're never paint experts. Walking into JC Licht, I was almost immediately helped by one of the several employees, despite the place being full of contractors picking up large orders. When I showed the employee what I was painting, she directed me to the paint I should be using instead of the paint I was planning to buy. Despite the fact that there were professionals waiting on large orders, my little $35 can was still valued. I was mixed and out the door in less than 10 min. I will deal with the downtown Naper traffic from now on when I need paint. That was a far less aggravating experience than the hardware store.

I needed a can that I purchased a year ago and hadn't gotten around to using until now reshaken. They said no. Someone's can had leaked once so they have a blanket no rule. I don't believe cans just leak. Maybe they didn't check to see if the lid was secure. Maybe they didn't check the can's structural integrity. Whatever the reason, they won't shake a can once it goes out the door. My opinion, bad customer service. A good customer walked away rejected. I won't ever go back.

Every time she has come through for us with amazing color choices that really speak to us and what we are looking for. She is incredibly patient, genuinely listens to her clients, and is incredibly thorough in ways I would have never thought of. Holly is really passionate about color and loves educating her clients on it, which is super helpful to understand the color process and what to look for. On our last project Dora and Holly really went out of their way for me. I mean WAY above and beyond their job description, in the midst of me having a meltdown over our house renovation. I will never be able to thank them enough for their enormous patience in how they handled me and the situation. Between Holly's incredible talent for color and their unbelievable customer service, I am a customer for life!! If you are starting from scratch with an idea or testing your designer's color choices (I have been in both situations), Holly is the only color consultant you need to call. In regards to paint, if you are someone like me who suffers from migraines due to toxic fumes, etc., Aura is an amazing paint product. Yes, it is $89 a gallon, but you can sleep in the room your painting, with no fumes and no migraines. The paint itself is a dream to work with, even for paint dummies like my husband and I. If your budget will allow the cost, to me it's worth every penny!
