Southtown Interiors (Hinsdale, IL) vice president was very accommodating until he received my full…read morepre-payment for materials and installation of window treatments and vinyl wallcovering. After receiving the full payment amount, he requested two additional payments for portions of the same project for which he claimed he "forgot" to charge for in his original/undetailed quote. Again, payments were issued to them even though my post payments cost comparison with other similar vendors indicated Southtown Interiors substantially overcharged me. A month later, he delivered wallcovering material and attempted to install some but the quality of the install was so bad, we had him and his installer stop work. He blamed the wallcovering material as defective and has since indicated he filed a claim with the wallcovering manufacturer for material replacement. Since then, no further work has been completed by Southtown Interiors in spite of my repeated inquiries over the past couple of months that only result in new new excuses for endless delays in issuing appropriate refunds as requested, delivering/installing window treatments, etc. In summary, Southtown Interiors took my money and I received almost nothing in return aside from a multi-months long runaround so now I am intending to file a lawsuit against them to get my money back.

If you like a color at your home and would like to match it up, all you have to do is bring in a sample of that color and they will match it up perfectly with this state of the art machine that not only picks up the color but will print out the label on the colors used and will store it there. So if you ever never that color but no longer have the swatch, just let them know and they will show you the colors you used in the past. I find this to be an awesome idea and I have already used this concept a few times. This time coming in I needed a dove gray but didn't have the swatch so they just looked through my account (name and address, LOL) and BAMM! I had my perfectly matched color with no problems. I do have to say though that I know prices go up everywhere but their prices have gone up a lot more then I remember. I guess you are paying for quality though as if your paint didn't take the first time, they will give you another gallon to make sure it covers. Hmmm, but still the price has got me a little baffled and gives me the forced rating of only a 3. Quality wise its really good, but price wise it hurts just a tad to pay almost $60 for a galloon of great paint, I may settle for mediocre paint next time. Nah, I really like the quality so I will be back.

Both my bathroom and kitchen ceilings were looking pretty bad with damage associated with normal…read moresteam and condensation over the years. My patching ability isn't the best so I wanted to price out what it would cost to hire a professional. I ended up going with Gary. He was fair priced and did an outstanding job. Not only did he patch, repair and paint both ceilings but he also touched up the trim pieces around the ceiling and cleaned the light fixtures, so they looked like new with the fresh paint. I was also surprised that he provided the receipts on the supplies needed so I only paid exactly what they cost. I just assumed contract work makes a bit of profit on supplies, but this was not the case and the total estimate of the job including supplies was almost spot on. The final total was $10 more which was in the supply cost. He kept me well informed and cleaned up after himself. I felt that he treated my home with respect and now my ceilings look brand new and professionally done.
