If they're this careless about something as obvious as keeping toxic smoke away from dogs, what corners are they cutting when no one is watching? I would never risk leaving my dog here. Enter Hounds Town. Yesterday was our first day: my boy got a full day of daycare, where he was able to socialize and play with six other dogs around his size. He also got a bath (with a blow-dry and the cutest branded bandana ever, which is perfect for my obsessive dog-mom scrapbook). While I did qualify for their lovely first-visit-free promo this time around, even if I hadn't the price for both of those would have STILL been cheaper than what I usually pay for just his bath. Overall, prices are extremely reasonable and competitive with other animal care facilities in the greater Austin area, but honestly I've tried quite a few places and it just feels like you get *more* at Hounds Town. The staff clearly love animals, and their jobs. Everyone is so friendly. I really can't understate the amazing impression I've gotten of this establishment, just from the first day! My boy came back to me relaxed and happy, with no signs of stress or anxiety. They've definitely earned a regular customer in us.

We knew that there wasn't much they could do but we had hoped they would try. We had also hoped for better service and bedside manner. When he arrived, the receptionist said "oh this is your first time here fill out this paperwork." - it's not our first time In fact we are long time patients for all three of our dogs. Then- instead of helping him or offering to let him wash his hands which were covered in blood they shoved paperwork in his face. Then- they proceeded to pressure him to make decisions on cremation when he stated he did not want that. No condolences- no comfort just payment options. I am so disappointed with his experience and the way the animal hospital handled this and our family. If you have a true emergency and need help- I would not advise going here. We will be switching our care somewhere else. We also have been way over charged for vaccines as well as being made to wait excessive amounts of time for appointments we show up to on time- and will be transferring care. On top of all of this we received a generic sympathy email instead of a phone call for our loss and our experience. Truly terrible and sad that this was our experience.

We do have to travel frequently and Action Pack has become a 2nd home. We no longer live in Liberty Hill (we actually live 2 hours away, and do the drive and plan all flights around ensuring we can bring our boys here). One of our very first stays our older dane had a health emergency, we didn't even see the issue prior to dropping off and within a couple of hours we got a call from one of the staff and they managed that visit end to end for us. They got him to an emergency vet, stayed with him for awhile, then once he was hydrated and well did the driving to pick him up, and then adjusted his care for extra attention once onsite. Our two boys are vastly different in age and play needs, and pretty joined at the hip - they modify the play for our older boy, even when they have a yard full of dogs, they can tell when he's reached his limit and just needs quiet. They are so attentive to know that our younger boy was struggling without the other and got them back together again. Here we are 2 1/2 years later of using them soley and when we arrive our boys eagerly hop out of the vehicle and run in and then anxiously await to go back to play. We have used other places and have watched our dogs panic and put the brakes on and refuse to go through the door. They have absolutely never hesitated here. So grateful for the care and attention they place on our fur family!

After boarding her this time (we've been customers there for years), we were told she displayed behaviors such as growling and was no longer welcome to return. What I find most concerning is that this facility also promotes dog training services, yet there was no effort to discuss what may have triggered her behavior, offer recommendations, suggest training options, or work with us on a plan for future success. Instead, we were simply told not to bring her back. I fully understand that any boarding facility has the right to make decisions based on safety concerns. However, anxious and fearful behaviors are not uncommon in boarding environments, and I expected a business that offers training services to have a more knowledgeable and supportive approach. As pet owners, we trust boarding facilities to care for our dogs during what can already be a stressful experience. Rather than feeling supported, we left feeling judged and dismissed. If your dog struggles with anxiety or fear in unfamiliar situations, I would encourage you to ask detailed questions about how those behaviors are assessed and managed before booking. We'll gladly be taking our business elsewhere and won't be back with our current dog or any future dogs.

Be aware before booking here…read more The communication is extremely poor -- calls go unanswered, and it's nearly impossible to get a clear response from anyone. The staff is not only unhelpful but also comes across as impolite and dismissive when you do manage to reach them. What's even more concerning is the lack of management. No one seems to be in control or able to handle basic customer service situations professionally. I've taken all three of my pets here and spent over $6,000 in just three months, so this isn't coming from a one-time visit. Despite that, the only thing I was told when trying to resolve the situation was that the staff member is "commission-based" and wouldn't get paid -- as if that should be my responsibility. This is especially frustrating considering my pet had just undergone surgery at this same location and was not even allowed to have a bath. I canceled the appointment within 24 hours for that reason, yet they still attempted to charge me. Overall, a very disappointing experience. Poor communication, lack of professionalism, and zero accountability. I would not trust them with my pets or my time.

To begin with their facility they do an evaluation (FREE!) which entails essentially a free day of daycare as they recommend for them to be dropped off at least for 4 hours. In addition, they are running a promo for 2 additional free days of daycare after the evaluation!!! In regards to the actual care for the dogs, you can absolutely tell the staff love the dogs. Or puppy at other daycare was extremely nervous to play/potty but not here she had SO MUCH FUN (never too much). For boarding, they give you a daily report card that includes so many pictures of the pups! In addition, they actually encourage owners to bring a bed/toy to make them feel more at home which most other places do not. On the last day they even gave both dogs a bath that wasn't requested by it was an incredibly appreciated thing they did. They have a webcam as well but I did not feel the need to check on it since I knew my pups were safe and having so much fun. It really took the worry out of our vacation I can truly not recommend playful pack and their staff more, we will absolutely be coming back!!

Our place we use for "doggy day care" recommended this place, as our other vet did not offer the "Influenza" shot our dog needed for the "doggy day care". It is a "two-shot" process, so we brought her in her in for her first initial shot and we could tell her demeanor was great! She did have her tail down, but not "between her legs" like the other place. They were so nice to her, and we were in and out quickly. The second time we went for her follow up shot, we had to wait a little longer, and we had a question for a the vet, so we waited a little longer. Again, our puppy was so comfortable in their waiting area! The ladies behind the desk just loved her, and even came out and tried to pet her (she was a little bit shy with them). But, once we met Dr. Chapa and her assistant in the exam room they were soo great. Again, our puppy was a little nervous, but both ladies were sooo nice to her. They got down on the ground with her, and petted her while we told the vet of our concerns. Dr. Chapa was very compassionate, and great with her. When she administered her shot, our puppy did great! We are now making them our permanent vet! I would recommend them to anyone in the area!!
