My home outlets lost power after rainstorm. Scheduling an appointment was quick and Ricky came in 1.5 hours. He listened to my explanation and started looking around the main panel and checked for physical damages in wires in the attic. Tested tripping breakers one by one and finally figured out what's going on. The breakers were killed during the rainstorm, showing by connecting wires to working breakers. I liked how he approached the problem and also noticing unrelated issues. Ricky found an open slice and fixed that too. read more

I've hired Ricky three times for my EV charger installation and for ceiling light upgrades. Every single time has been a great experience. He consistently offers honest, thoughtful advice that balances both practicality and cost-effectiveness. I really appreciate how he takes the time to explain the options without pushing unnecessary work. His recommendations have always worked out perfectly, and because of that, my trust in him continues to grow. Highly recommended if you're looking for someone reliable, knowledgeable, and genuinely looking out for your best interest. read more

I contacted Ricky for a quote for installing an electric stove. Ricky showed up on time and was able to email a quote to me after his visit. Thank you Ricky! read more

Our home was experiencing an unusual power loss issue, and Ricky was able to come over during his lunch break as an emergency call. After another electrician was unable to inspect the main panel due to a PG&E seal, Ricky carefully examined the panel and quickly identified the problem. He made several phone calls to his supplier to ensure I could get the faulty circuit breaker replaced as soon as possible. Since our house is newly built, the builder's electrician replaced the part for free, but I truly appreciate Ricky's help in inspecting the issue. Thanks to him, we were able to hold the builder accountable for their responsibility. read more

His hourly rate was very reasonable. His communications with me were professional and prompt. I was still at work, so my 18 year old son was the one at home. After he resolved the issue, he left, but came back about 15 minutes later when my son called me to say the problem had recurred. I was able to get home before he left again and Ricky walked me through what the issue was and why it had recurred. Turns out we need to have our tankless water heater serviced. ‍ I'm sure he spent more than an hour on my issue (which ended up not being an electrical issue after all), and he was able to return the same day on very short notice, but he only charged me for an hour of his time. I'm glad I hired him and would not hesitate to recommend him. read more

One of my house electricity line broke due to excessive hair dryer. I called Sherman Electric, Ricky quickly responded to me and set up an appt. He arrived on time and thru our conversation during his debugging, I realize he's very experienced and knowledgeable about house electrical wiring. He quickly found the location of the burnt wire and fix it in a short time. He also gave me some general advise on electricity specs. read more

I highly recommend Sherman Electric for outstanding expertise and service. Ricky quickly figured out the source of our electrical problem which was affecting many of our kitchen outlets and appliances (shorted out old aluminum ground wire in our original Zinsco exterior panel which caused fluctuating voltage surges). Ricky has many years of experience, is very communicable and professional. read more

Ricky was great and i highly recommend him. He was extremely communicative, always reachable, was very patient in explaining the problem and resolution, and did a very thorough job. Would defn use him for all our other work read more

Ricky is very experienced and knowledgeable, able to do the work of multiple electricians by himself, and able to quickly troubleshoot problems that would leave other electricians struggling for many hours. Due to his expertise and efficiency he was able to do some major work on my commercial property at a fraction of the cost of other electricians. I would strongly recommend Ricky for any type of electrical work, but especially those that might require technical expertise or with problems that might be difficult to diagnose. read more

Ricky of Sherman Electric is amazing! Responded immediately to my inquiry, and dropped everything to come by and take care of two immediate problems. Very professional and affable. He was quick and tidy, and made us feel like we were his only client. He will definitely be our "go to guy"! read more

It took less then 30min from my call for Ricky to arrive! My job was small (fish wire a few wires to n new location) and Ricky quoted me a fair price. It took Ricky a bit longer than we expected but he stood by his price. He made sure to maintain the work location clean and didn't complain when I stood by and watched him work the whole time :) I'll call him again for my next job. read more

Just spoke to Ricky, and he has to be one of the most professional, polite, and honest contractors I have had the pleasure of speaking to; in fact, he explained why I didn't actually need the service for which I was calling! I really appreciate his style and honesty. I will certainly call him when I actually do need help! read more

Was impressed by the reviews and quick response. Ricky was on time for the assessment appointment. He was very professional and said he'd get back with a quote that evening. Well, no quote and no response thereafter, so only one star here. read more

Ricky was very professional in his approach to our problem. We had a forty year old panel and was arcing. This led to power being cut off for a day. Our request was not only for restoration of power but also to upgrade service to 200A. Ricky managed to complete a service upgrade to new panel 200A within a day. It was a challenging project since it involved a lot of work and co ordination with city and utilities. He stayed at our place from morning till evening 9pm to make sure we had power for the night. I'll hire him again for future projects. read more

Exceptional job! Called me within 30 minutes of me messaging the business. Was able to work on electrical problem that day. Clearly described the testing and resolution steps before proceeding. Fixed the problem very quickly and Sherman Electric's rates were very reasonable. I live in an Eichler home and he was totally familiar with my electrical system and common issues homeowners in these kind of homes encounter. Totally professional and a pleasure to business with! read more

Rick is super knowledgeable, super polite, and super nice. He is not the type of the contractor who always thinks about over-charging you, but rather to give you the best and necessary services. I only had Rick for a quick wire inspection job, but I will consider him to do any electrical work first in the future. read more

Excellent! I highly recommend Sherman Electric. He responded quickly to a request for an estimate, then was able to schedule pretty soon after. He really went above and beyond expectations. Very professional! read more

Ricky did an awesome job! Even though it was the end of the day, he was quick to respond to our request and came over within 15 minutes. He quickly diagnosed our lighting problem and fixed it immediately. We were so happy with his knowledge, great communication and friendliness. He takes pride in his work and it shows! We will call Ricky for future electrical needs. read more

Ricky did an excellent job with the wiring for a set of new appliances, including an oven, microwave, cooktop and warming drawer. For the oven, he took it upon himself to call the manufacturer to make sure he got the electrical box in the right location. As it turned out, they still gave him the wrong information, but he figured out a way to get it where it needed to go and moved it there quickly, nicely patching up the wall he needed to get behind. On the day before the ovens were to be installed (literally the day before Thanksgiving!) we discovered that one junction box was protruding too much (by less than 1/2"), which would have prevented the oven from going in. I called Ricky in a panic and he happily offered to come that evening; he did and took care of the problem in about 5 minutes. I highly recommend this guy! read more

I had an issue with a possible circuit blowing after I bought an electric car and tried charging it at home. Even though it was late in the day, Ricky responded within minutes, came over that same evening and fixed the problem for me on the spot. He was very professional and honest, and I would recommend him to anyone looking for an electrician, without hesitation. read more

I agree with Barb C. I was impressed with the online reviews for Sherman Electric. I had a somewhat urgent/critical need to have an upstairs (failing) bathroom ceiling fan replaced, but figured that I would also have the downstairs bathroom fan replaced at the same time. Just as with Barb C., Ricky came out in a timely manner, indicated that he would get back to me "right away" with an estimate so that the work could begin ASAP. I did not hear back from Ricky with an estimate. I waited about a week and a half, then politely texted him asking when the estimate and work could begin...but heard nothing back. I tried this again about a week and a half later...still, I heard nothing back. Finally, about two weeks after that, I sent Ricky a polite text saying that, "I guess I won't be hearing back from you. It would have been nice to have heard back, with either yay or nay, about the job." (He knew that I felt this was an urgently needed repair.) I am at a loss to understand how someone keeps a business going with this kind of lack of consideration toward a potential customer who -- in this case -- was in urgent need of having the work done! The good news: After that, I found a different electrician who gave me an immediate quote, arranged a date for the work, came out on time on that date, and did a great job replacing both of the bathroom ceiling fans. So I guess I can thank Ricky for the fact that I have now found a great electrician...just not Ricky from Sherman Electric! read more

Ricky was very responsive, on time, and professional. He was very knowledgeable about the recessed wafer lights we wanted throughout the house. He knew city code requirements and easily passed the inspections for our permit. Ricky is a one-man operation and completed every electrical item on our punch list. He tried his best to make minimal cuts into the ceilings to minimize drywall repair. Ricky was very neat and tidy and wore shoe covers inside the house. He used third hands to build a floor to ceiling tent with plastic sheeting around himself anytime he cut into our ceilings to keep the drywall dust from flying all over. He used a HEPA fan to suck the loose drywall dust and also vacuumed. We highly recommend Ricky and he will be our first call anytime we need electrical work in the future. read more

Richard is the BEST!! He fixed a recessed light that two other electricians could not fix. He is now helping me with a temporary 220v outlet. He is prompt to reply, timely and charges a fair price. You can't go wrong if you choose Richard for your electical work. I am glad I found him. read more

I have to give an enormous shout out for Sherman Electric. I wouldn't use anyone else for any electrical problem I encounter. I first learned about this company from someone who overheard me complaining that I could not find an electrician who was a professional and who I could trust. The owner AND employees of Sherman Electric embody these characteristics. Every project they have worked on for me (whether at my mountain home or city office) has been completed on time and within budget. They have even taken the time to help educate me so I don't feel like such a victim to my circuit box's mood swings. The people are very polite and are true service providers! I wholeheartedly give them my highest recommendations. L Senee, Los Gatos read more
