This company has a great approach to customer service. I live in a HOA community and they were friendly, professional and transparent in their installation process. I highly also recommend their service contract is robust and very reasonable in cost for the service they provide. Their app is very user-friendly and the resolution is impeccable Best decision we made and will be usefull in years to come. read more

I am pretty picky when it comes to home wiring so I generally find it hard to find great installers. However, Sherlock did a fantastic job on my home security project. I had a 4 camera and 3 data wall outlets job for my house and they were able to complete it exactly the way I wanted it. Claudia, their sales rep is very responsive and quick to reply. One of the things I love about Sherlock is they are flexible with materials. I choose to provide my own cables since I wanted to use CAT6A and my lockbox. Sherlock is also able to install cameras that you buy which is quite rare to find. For the site visit, Ilad was very knowledge and friendly and made sure job was going to be done right. He came on the first day to check and verify things before the work began. The technicians Edgar & Alex were very friendly and hard working. The job took a day longer than estimated but they were able to finish everything. They came early in the morning and left after sunset. In the end I got everything running smoothly. Now I'm enjoying my super fast home network & high quality security cameras. I would highly recommend Sherlock to others looking to get professionally installed security systems or home network setup. read more

Ok Claudia answers the phone promptly and professionally. Paul, the service tech setup my video system to my mobile app and made sure it worked. When I changed the router I needed help again. Instead of coming out to my house to get me back up. Paul walked me through over the phone and I'm back up. Awesome customer service and they remembered me. They are so organized and they don't try and just bill you for everything. What an awesome company! read more

Asked for a quote and didn't receive one. Sent a follow up message and they said it would take a day. They called me the next day and asked for my email. Still didn't get a quote. It's been a week and I haven't heard from anyone. Quite honestly I don't want to hear from them at this point. I was also told I would need to pay $150 for someone to come look at my place (Uh,no thanks). I don't even want to think about what the actual install cost would be given the mandatory $150 consultation. Pass. read more

I have used Sherlock Surveillance to set up cameras and collect information for all my Philz Coffee locations. IIan has the best price and is very easy to work with. He is easy to schedule, arrives promptly and does very high quality work, in addition to being a really nice guy. He is very respectful to our team, as he is often scheduled during business hours. I continue to be impressed by the quality of his work which is why I am writing this review. His professionalism and his service standards are excellent. He is very helpful and patient with me and my team. Because he was so great to work with, he has a customer for life with me. I highly recommend Sherlock Surveillance. read more

Sherlock Surveillance did our home security camera system and we couldn't be happier. From the first exploratory phone call, Ilan was knowledgeable, friendly and had a calming about him that put me at ease (I was on the hunt for cameras due to increased burglaries in my neighborhood so I was scared!). I did explore a few other companies and found that their pricing was comparable to others, but I felt they would do the best overall job in terms of a clean install, not hacking up our house, and customer service when I have questions or need help. The install took 2 days and the team was great. Friendly, polite, communicative and worked hard. And, they were so careful with our house (my husband is very particular about "hack jobs"). The end result is a surveillance system that I can use on any device and the overall feeling of safety. Also worth mentioning - Post-service is great. I really wanted a front-yard sign to post and Ilan had one created and delivered to me based on my request. I've had some questions about how to save a video clip or connect another device and within a few hours I heard back from someone who can help. Really happy! read more

My name is Alan and I am the Loss Prevention Manager for Sigona's Farmers Market. I would like to start off by saying how I and my company are very, very happy with Sherlock Surveillance. These guys have the best cameras I have ever seen and that you'll ever find, guaranteed. To prove my point, check out this news article about a pedophile who was easily identified and caught thanks to the awesome cameras Sherlock provides: http://www.cityofpaloalto.org/civica/press/display.asp?layout=1&Entry=1274 This guy surrendered in less than 72 hours from when the incident took place. These cameras have 1088P resolution running at 30 fps; they are sharper and clearer than full HD. We've been easily identifying and catching all of the bad guys that go through our stores. Trust me, every dollar spent on the security system has really paid off and you'll never go for anything less than what Sherlock offers. They are experts in installation, customer support, and setting up the cameras the way you want them to be. I had quite a few challenging requests and they always delivered. They also have really neat remote access capabilities in which you can watch your cameras on any smartphone, tablet, or computer in real time. You can even play back recorded video, take pictures, save video, etc. right on your mobile device. This comes in handy when I am away from the stores or need to quickly check a situation that's unfolding at a different location. I really can't emphasize enough how much my company loves Sherlock Surveillance. If you're still debating what security system to get, the clear choice is Sherlock Surveillance. You'll never stop from being amazed at how awesome their system is and law enforcement will definitely thank you for it as well. read more

I have recently used Sherlock Surveillance for a project that we are about to finish and can't say better things about their service and follow up. I am impressed all of the things that you can now do in order to protect your business and have a way to see it remotely. Ilan, not only guided us through all of the options but worked with us on the best way to get what we wanted but meet our budget. The level of professionalism during installment and follow up to make sure things continue to work the way that we expected was incredible. Could not recommend them enough. read more

Ilan was extremely patient -- thoroughly answered the HOA's questions, considered the builder's suggestions regarding installation, worked with varying opinions -- and ultimately provided options that met our budget and needs. Paul did a great job with the set-up and was quick to reply to emails/texts. The residents are happy with the mobile interface and have piece of mind because should anything happen, "smile, you're on Sherlock's cameras!" read more

TLDR: This company uses staples to run the camera cables on the exterior of your house without any protection. Cameras will stop working and you will be blamed. Read more for details. Pre-sales and closing process with Claudia was good. She seemed knowledgeable and even offered some good suggestions on installation on my 2-story. The appointment for the installation was flexible and the installers came promptly. The workmanship, however, was HORRIBLE. Staples were used to run the wires along any exposed wood outside the exterior of my house. I'm not talking a red office staples from Office Space, but something like the "Arow T50" (Google it). I found multiple kinks and one camera had to be re-run just 2 months after installation because obviously the cable was damaged due to being damaged by the staples. ****The takeaway: Any company that thinks STAPLING cables to wood instead of the use of conduits (the plastic piping that is used to house and protect the cables, is horrendously incompetent and this speaks volume of Sherlock's workmanship and training of their installers. **** I did not have time to sit and watch the installers run the cabling, otherwise I would've stopped them right away. I was working and came home to the atrocious workmanship. When I contacted Claudia, she had the audacity to blame me for not specifying that the cables should be run a certain way. Sorry, what? It's your business to make sure quality of workmanship is being performed, not mine. What should I say, "Hey, please don't use the worst method possible to run the cables which would guarantee the cameras would stop functioning after a couple of months"? No. Just no. The burden of workmanship lies on the provider of the service. A customer should never tell the business "Please don't do a sh*tty job.". The standard of service is obviously low due to this fact. Blaming the customer for your lack of quality speaks volumes of the lack of customer service and support you would receive after sales. As typical with a lot of desperate-for-sales companies nowadays, Sherlock does not perform any follow up/customer service/maintenance past closing. If anyone does somehow decide to still go with those company, be sure to take the day off work, pull out a folding beach chair, keep an unlimited supply of ice cold lemonade on hand, and keep and eye and make sure your cables aren't being stapled or any other half-assed method. read more

Prompt. Professional. Helpful. Ilan gave me very good advise and installed 2 cameras in under 1 hour. Very satisfied!

Excellent service from the Sherlock team, they installed my original system back in 2013 and then when we upgraded everything this year, they were my first call. Paul and the install team worked to meet or exceed all of my expectations. They wore masks and booties when entering the house and always maintained social distancing and safety. Would definitely recommend them for any security system planning and installation. read more

Called Sherlock for an estimate for a security camera installation. Initially they seemed pretty proactive. Took some info to understand my needs and then said they'd send me a preliminary estimate in the next day or so. Their engineer was out but would get back to me the following week to confirm the estimate. Two weeks passed and didn't get an email or a call back. Ended up calling Sherlock back and though they somewhat recalled the original conversation, couldn't find my information. She said it was so hard to keep track of everyone. She asked if I could give her my info again, I passed. If they can't keep contact info straight, I'd be a little concerned about the rest of their business practices. They didn't seem too worried about losing potential customers. read more

Dont know how they get so many good stars. CAlled them up after a burglary and spoke to woman about getting 8 cameras. She never called me back. So a few days I called again and she said she would send out a qoute. Still did not, only the thrid time did she sent out a qoute and it was so high I didnt want it. and it was for 7 cameras only. I asked her why was it so high and she said they could drop it down to about 1.3 megapixel to make it cheaper and I said no, I want quality not cheap stuff. So I ended up going with California Security Cameras, cheaper and they respond promptly. Another thing about this service is this, they refused to come to my house to see the layout and to see how many cameras I would need or where to place them. I asked the woman how would she know how to place cameras at my property before hand and if I had obstructions in the way, she said she just uses Google Maps? If someone came out to my property to estimate it, it would cost me $150.00 which I though was totally wrong. Good thing I did not go with them. read more

Called for a quote. Unfriendly service. Pricing too high for home project.

I am your typical business, you call up the surveillance company after you have been hit. Ouch. Well, I made the right decision here. I called a friend of mine who used Sherlock Surveillance and he had nothing but great things to say about the company. I am in full agreement with the rest of the Yelpers, the company was organized, punctual, professional and gave me 100% confidence that I made the right call. And, they were very nice people, from the Jacob at the top to the rest of the team. My installer, Fernando, was easy to work with, patient and ready to answer any questions I had. If you are thinking of installing a surveillance system, call Sherlock now, don't wait like I did. read more

I am still baffled by the numerous 5 star reviews for this business. They will use STAPLES to run the camera wiring on the exterior of your house WITHOUT any conduits (pipes) to protect them from the elements. Not only is this ugly, but it will cause the cameras to cut out because the staples damage the wiring. When I confronted them about this, they had the audacity to blame me for not being specific in how I wanted the wiring to be installed. This speaks volumes about their extremely low standards and lack customer service. Avoid Avoid Avoid!! read more

I made the right decision going with Sherlock Surveillance to get my Surveillance camera system installed. I called many of the businesses right here in Yelp and they came by and provided quotes. Some of them were very convincing, but I ended up going with Sherlock. I would say that the decision was initially based on my conversation with Claudia. She was eager to help, but not pushy like some of the other contractors. Claudia explained the capabilities of the technicians, as well as how Sherlock will stand by their work. She talked about how the installation is professional and effective because of the way technicians configure the overall positional design. Once Edgar and Alex came over and discussed how they were planning on doing the installation, I realized that these technicians knew their craft well. This is critical as a good surveillance system is only as good as the way it is setup (I realize that after the fact). The work was extremely professional, my cameras are place all around the house in very strategic areas to have a great coverage. Edgar and Alex routed all wires in a way to never be obtrusive or stick out in any un-flattering way. They are flexible on the way you want to go with the package (either you buy your own equipment or Sherlock will provide a system), they helped me immensely on picking the right system, I was overwhelmed sifting through all the technical pros and cons, until Claudia pointed me to the perfect Lorex system....thank you Claudia, I love it .... I also am going to send their good name to my friends in the "neighborhood" app we all use to share local information. If you want a professional system for the peace of mind that a surveillance system can give you, don't cut corners with 1-man shops or small outfits of handymen to save a few bucks ...go with pros like Sherlock, you will not regret it, it is the personnel in the team that makes the biggest difference, and I know that if I need them for support (like replace a camera or adjust something) they will do that within the promised period of support. read more

Out of all of the people I contacted for camera quotes, Ilan provided me the best prices and an honest opinion. He was very punctual throughout the process and I could always count on him to be there. My business was recently burglarized and I knew I wanted the best camera system to ease my mind. Ilan installed a 32 channel camera system and even hooked up my old system to the new interface. His team is extremely diligent and professional. They knew exactly what to do and finished everything quickly without any issues. The video interface is user intuitive and I can now access all of my cameras remotely on my cell phone. Do not skimp out in the quality of your surveillance system because you will regret it when you need it the most. I highly recommend using Sherlock Surveillance because you will be happy with your investment. read more

I found this company through Yelp. I contacted Ilan to install a Lorex video surveillance system that I purchased on Amazon.com. He responded quickly with a quote, and he gave me an installation date for the following Monday. His installation guy came on time, we agreed on the camera positions, and he went about his business over next few hours. I did the network configuration for the DVR in advance, so I cannot rate the installer on that aspect. However, he did a very neat job with the cabling to the DVR, and all the cameras have been working well. Very professional. Highly recommended. read more

We hired Sherlock Surveillance for our home security project. Claudia responded to my initial request quickly on a Sunday morning, and gave me a quote the next day. She was very patient and answered all my questions regarding the cameras they supply and installation. Josh and Derek did a fantastic job for the installation and testing the system, Ilan was on site on the first day to make sure everything run well. Since they worked on the wires in the attic, I smelled dust and some weird stuff once AC was on, they were able to come out the next day to re-check everything and assured me nothing was wrong. They also adjusted one of the cameras to avoid the nigh vision glare. Paul was patient and nice and he gave me a detailed walkthrough on the NVR setup. Some of our cameras didn't record, after I reached out to the support, Ilan and Paul both replied and troubleshooted the issues remotely. We have our system for about a week now and we couldn't be happier. The quality of the image is awesome and the night vision works great! I highly recommend Sherlock Surveillance! read more

I had a great experience Sherlock Surveillance. They did solid quality work and went above and beyond in their dedication and helpfulness. The project took much longer than anticipated and they stuck around 4 extra hours getting everything set up. They installed conduits for all the cameras which added a lot of complexity over their original quote, but the final price stayed the same. The owner Elon was really helpful getting the monitoring set up and even helped me with a tricky issue with a nanny cam in the house that I couldn't access outside my home network. Everything was fully cleaned up when they left and has worked real well over the last week. The price seemed reasonable and seemed like an even better value after I saw all the work they had to do. read more

We've been considering security cameras for a while. We looked at wireless systems from Costco that were cost effective, but second rate when you really started to drill down. Then I met Ilan of Sherlock Surveillance. He came by, surveyed our property with a professional eye and made several recommendations. Ultimately he proved that a state of the art, first rate hard wired system with 1 terabyte of memory was affordable and not overly intrusive to install. He and his crew's friendly professionalism are hard to beat. I would recommend him to anybody who is considering installing video surveillance. Have him give you a quote. Don't be the guy calling him up after your property has been violated. Nothing worse than closing the barn doors after all the horses have escaped. read more

Sherlock Installed the cameras at my house. The crew was professional and courteous, but, the best part is that the cameras ended up catching a lady who stole an important UPS package from my front door. The video that we were able to get from the cameras was so good that we sent it to our neighborhood blog called Bernalwood. NBC Nightly News picked it up and the video clip of the thief ended up on the 10 O'clock News. No more thieves since then. Thanks Sherlock! read more

Sherlock Surveillance did a superb job installing the surveillance system for our house. Our next door neighbor recommended Sherlock very highly to us. At first my husband wanted me to talk to a few more companies so we could compare equipments and price. But after talking to Sherlock Surveillance, I had good feelings about them. So we decided to go with them. It took a day to set up the system. The crew that did the work were very pleasant. They explained the details to us before the installation and also worked around the little changes we requested. Now this system is up and running -- very smooth. Camera images are excellent. Ilan did a good job explaining to us how to use this system. Thanks to Erin, Claudia, Ilan, Fernando, and another gentleman whose name I missed (sorry). You all are superb. Great! Definitely great experience with Sherlock! Erin was my first contact at Sherlock: she carefully listened to me when I told her about the system I wanted for my two story house then she promptly gave me a detailed description about the feasible solutions matching my needs (hardware, price, time, etc.) Ilan came to my house as soon as he could for a walk thru after which he clearly explained to me how he planned to install cameras, route cables, setup the software, etc. Ken, Josh have been great! They professionally made the whole hardware installation, routing, DVR setup, etc., definitely a great job! Also they really are cool guys! I was very pleased with my experience with Sherlock. I called them on MLK Day and them came out the very next day to help me finish my Lorex 6 Camera System installation. Other companies wouldn't help me since I already had the hardware. I also had some messy wiring in the attic I wanted to get to code.
