My dad and I are in Long Beach for the weekend and were wanting food from a local spot. We were walking down the boardwalk and spotted Shenanigans- we decided to go there because the food of the people sitting outside looked good. We both ordered a soda and both of ours tasted funky- we assumed it's because their machine isn't very clean. I got a burger and my dad got the fish and chips. My burger wasn't very good- the bun was the best part of it because it was sweet. My dad said the fish and chips were not very good either. But the reason my rating is 3 stars instead of 2 is because their service was very good! Our waitress, Brooke, was super nice and really wanted to make our experience good. Now I've been here more than a few times, and up until last night, I've always had a great time. Last night however was a different story. Service was ok; they were busy and seemed understaffed, so it was understandable that our server may have seemed a bit inattentive. The issue really arose when my friend and I came to pay. I had handed my card to my friend to split the bill while I made a quick stop in the restroom, and when I got back, we had received the only one card back. When I went to the bar, the first bartender had told me she had dropped my card but would not look for it because she had a full bar with customers and didn't have the time but would take down my number and call me once it was found either that night or tomorrow morning. Once again, that's understandable. However, when the second bartender came around, we thought we'd at least ask where my card is, and this is were the 2 stars come from. She immediately became defensive and started finger pointing saying that my friend threw the cards over the bar and they only managed to find one. Now we already received an initial story were one of the bartenders admitted to dropping the card, but now the other was telling us the cards were thrown over the bar? Which is it guys? It was a simple mistake, there is no need to get aggressive and deflect blame, especially when one of your coworkers has already owned up to it. read more

I seriously used to love this bar and came here a lot but I've experienced the worst customer service yesterday from the "waiter " KAT she informed that the wait was going to be 2 hours and I understood. I politely asked her "are the other parties in line waiting the same time." she stated "no because they were closer " I advised her to explain and she walks always from our conversation with an attitude and didn't want to continue to inform me of the wait time nor give me information on the seating . She also lied and said we had to buy food in order to drink beer or alcoholic drinks which is not true per the manager Steven who I spoke with . If you come here please asked to speak to a manager before some one so rude and clearly tired of her job gives you false information . Never going back there . read more

I stopped in Shenanigans early afternoon with a friend for Bloody Mary's. Service was wonderful, the servers kept checking on us to see if we needed anything, service that you do not see all that often. (By the way, the Bloody Mary's were excellent!) We intend to go there some more. read more

The food was bland and artificial as if it came out of a can, Absolutely no flavor!!! I couldn't take another bite without ....The alcohol beverage was beyond atrocious made with the cheapest well liquors....I asked for a top self cadillac margarita and the passive aggressive waitress with very poor hygiene and even worse attitude brought me back a Honda margarita. LBC's cool pub!! It was once the springbok but they're no longer, and it just got better!! Ice cold beer, great appetizers, overlooks the waterfront and all that, and if you're a smoker, you can...at the patio! And that's a plus ! We all know that drink and smoke go hand in hand. They got pool table, great music, nothing but rock, so if you're out there in the shoreline,...kick it here. This gets crowded especially on the grand prix, we're a fan!! Came in for dinner and drinks. The food was delicious and Scotty is a great bartender. The food came out fast and was so good. Scotty checked on us constantly. We never waited on a drink. We ordered several different drinks (margaritas, Red Bull Tito's grenadine, Irish coffee, mechelada) they were made perfect. We arrived right before shift change. Mateo was our first bartender and did a great job also. These guys have a lot of personality and are great bartenders. Now I know why the locals love it here. We will for sure be back. read more

Food service wasn't great . 1 cheeseburgers look forever until I asked to cancel order .i was told I could get it to go but even that took just as long I asked manager to take it off my bill . I was told they couldn't since food had just came out I got a discount of like $7. Place looked like it could be cool.... But man oh man was I wrong! Beer glasses were hot making the beer warm, french fries were cold and the burger sucked! Calamari was good, but also served cold. Charming pub, on the water in Shoreline Village, serving surprisingly good food. We went for breakfast and tried the breakfast burrito and the corned beef hash and eggs. They were tasty - although the servings were not very generous. Menu is somewhat limited but included a variety of options. Seating both inside and under a covered patio, plus several TVs for sports enthusiasts. Service was friendly. They do validate parking, covering a chunk of the fee, which is nice because you have no other parking option. read more

I have been here only once before but decided to go recently with friends because the line was shorter than most restaurants on the strip. I can understand why since the servers aren't as attentive as most restaurants. They don't check up on you unless they're flagged down. We ordered a lot of drinks and some appetizers like fried calamari and loaded tater tots. The food was ok but the only reason for this decent review was this young blonde girl that kept helping us more than our own waitress. I felt bad flagging her down for so many questions about the menu, condiments, and refills on sodas because she later on told me that she wasn't a server when I asked her for shots, which she wasn't allowed to get because she was a busser. She was the only one who constantly walked around looking to clean things and didn't try to awkwardly avoid eye contact when we needed something like the rest. Last Saturday some friends and I ( and my dog) came here to relax have some wings and beer After placing our order we received the wrong order of wings ( we ordered the half and they gave us the dozen after we told the waiter twice we would like the half size) after receiving the dozen and telling them of there mistake we were told by both the waitress and bust boy to keep the dozen it would be removed from the check ( because it was their mistake) so naturally we start to eat and enjoy our food ... not soon after we were approached at our table and the bust boy physically started to remove 6 chicken wings from our plates ! As we were eating... I have never been so shocked ! Or felt so disrespected at a restaurant/Pub! When asked why they would come and take food from us we were told that "we shouldn't take things we weren't gonna pay for" the manager then comes out and told us that our story wasn't the story she was hearing from her staff ! The waitress then gave us our check and stood there until we finished eating to Ensure we would pay ... I can't help but to think if this had been a group of white friends things would have been handled differently! They would not have been watched ! Told not to be " so loud" or profiled the way we were . I will NEVER again go to this establishment! And I encourage them to work on their customer service ! Love Shenanigans.. Shenanigans is located in a very popular area of Long Beach,... Shoreline Village. Shenanigans offers a full bar with great beers including GUINNESS. I have been there for both breakfast and lunch. Both times not disappointed at all. Love their breakfasts and if you brave it, the Irish Breakfast is a fun cocktail.... Family owned and ran.. Shenanigans has been incredibly supportive of the community and graciously donated to various local causes. We will be back.. for wings and a GUINNESS for sure. read more

ZERO STARS IF I COULD. Absolute worst customer service I've EVER HAD. Went to grab drinks with my husband and ordered an appetizer. Within ten minutes of being there got a call from a family member about an emergency and asked for our check and to cancel the food we ordered MAYBE two minutes prior. The waitress responded to me saying I had to leave for an emergency by saying "oh I'm sure you mean another reservation right?". THEN came back with our check and told us that we had to pay for the food that we did not receive because the kitchen started making it already. My husband and I have worked in the restaurant industry for over 10 years combined. Never in my life have I charged a table for cancelling an order, especially when an emergency was occurring for them. The waitress continued to give attitude to my husband as I left to get the car, continued to tell him that we had to pay for the entire check, and continued to insinuate that we were just leaving her to go to another restaurant. Mind you our order wasn't even correct and the "manager" was just as bad as her. He continued to tell my husband that he had to pay the entire bill, said to feel bad for the waitress because people leave her all the time, and told him to come back in a few hours for reggae night despite all of this. Not easily irritated by bad service but this place is absolute dog crap from the workers on up and wouldn't be surprised if the manager was just another server pretending to be in charge due to his lack of professionalism. read more

This was my 2nd time out since March. Christine our server was great! Very attentive and helpful. Yes, you have to purchase food and an 18% tip is already included but these things are clearly listed on a board pointed out to you before you sit down. The only reason why they got two stars is because they seated our table of 16 with no hassle. Other than that the food was less than ok. The menu is missing a lot of items that should be on a pub menu. And the items they have are just average with the exception of what i ordered, that was bad. I ordered the corn beef burger. The concept is great but the corn beef was the most driest piece of meat I have ever tasted. My wife had the salad which had so much dressing that it was dripping when she picked it up with her folk. My friend ordered the turkey club that looked great but when you held it you realized that it had 2 pieces of turkey attached to 30 lbs of iceberg lettuce. My son ordered the sample menu. When the menu states " sample" you are really getting a sample. we got two potato wedges, three wings 3 mozzarella sticks and some other frozen fried item. My mother had to send her burger back because it was cold. When asking the server why it was cold he replied " yea they usually cook the burgers first". REALLY?? I guess the only reason why this place survives is because it is at a tourist spot and every day people from everywhere but LONG BEACH see's " irish pub" and thinks " how can you go wrong". well at shenanigans they defiantly pull some SHENANIGANS when is comes to selling Irish food. read more

It's a great dive bar next to the Queen Mary. If the live band is too loud, there's a patio on the other side of the bar by the boats where it's quieter. The food here is good bar food. Their Irish Nachos are perfection. Seriously, them nachos are so yummy I don't know how to describe it. Nice bar on the water. We stopped here a couple times during the Long Beach Grand Prix. They had some of the best prices on drinks. They had some live music but no cover charge. I really wanted to like this place. This review is based on service and not on F&B since we did not get that far. We came on a weekday evening for a late dinner after the "dinner rush". The menu was available via QR code which was convenient. We waited approximately 10 minutes to be seated which was understandable due to COVID protocols. Other nearby restaurants were quoting 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait times so this place was a no brainer. However once we sat, we waited approximately 12 minutes (I timed) before being greeted by a waiter. Industry standard is 2 minutes and the restaurant wasn't busy at the time we were sat. There were two other tables in our section. Twelve minutes may not sound long but if you put yourself in the guests' position it seems like an eternity especially if the server walked by them a few times without as much as a "hello, I'll be right with you". When the server finally stopped by touch our table, he was unapologetic and was unable/unwilling to answer simple questions about the bar offerings. At this point, we just left and walked up the road to the Dubliner. I've managed restaurants and bars for 15+ years and timeliness of service and menu knowledge are fundamental. I wasn't expecting corporate level service like Ritz-Carlton or Yard House from a Mom-and-Pop spot but at least the basics. read more
