My dad and I are in Long Beach for the weekend and were wanting food from a local spot. We were walking down the boardwalk and spotted Shenanigans- we decided to go there because the food of the people sitting outside looked good. We both ordered a soda and both of ours tasted funky- we assumed it's because their machine isn't very clean. I got a burger and my dad got the fish and chips. My burger wasn't very good- the bun was the best part of it because it was sweet. My dad said the fish and chips were not very good either. But the reason my rating is 3 stars instead of 2 is because their service was very good! Our waitress, Brooke, was super nice and really wanted to make our experience good. The food was excellent. The portions were terrible. I ordered the corned beef hash and eggs. Be prepared to eat mostly potatoes, but not a lot because they don't give you that much to begin with. Fantastic Thanksgiving meal! I think the moistest turkey I've had, thick carved ham with a sweet spicy glaze, crispy tender baby squash, yummy yams, mashed potatoes, stuffing and gravy. All for $20. Food service wasn't great . 1 cheeseburgers look forever until I asked to cancel order .i was told I could get it to go but even that took just as long I asked manager to take it off my bill . I was told they couldn't since food had just came out I got a discount of like $7. Now I've been here more than a few times, and up until last night, I've always had a great time. Last night however was a different story. Service was ok; they were busy and seemed understaffed, so it was understandable that our server may have seemed a bit inattentive. The issue really arose when my friend and I came to pay. I had handed my card to my friend to split the bill while I made a quick stop in the restroom, and when I got back, we had received the only one card back. When I went to the bar, the first bartender had told me she had dropped my card but would not look for it because she had a full bar with customers and didn't have the time but would take down my number and call me once it was found either that night or tomorrow morning. Once again, that's understandable. However, when the second bartender came around, we thought we'd at least ask where my card is, and this is were the 2 stars come from. She immediately became defensive and started finger pointing saying that my friend threw the cards over the bar and they only managed to find one. Now we already received an initial story were one of the bartenders admitted to dropping the card, but now the other was telling us the cards were thrown over the bar? Which is it guys? It was a simple mistake, there is no need to get aggressive and deflect blame, especially when one of your coworkers has already owned up to it. read more

I come here weekly with my dogs and do lunch . I mainly come here because there's an outside patio that is dog friendly. Today my two dogs and I came in and got our usual table . I always order my dogs a burger patty . Today I was told dogs are not allowed to eat on the patio . The only reason I honestly come here is for the convenience of the outdoor patio and the dogs being able to sit with me . Also for the first time I was asked for a credit card for them to hold onto . I can see if I was racking up a bar tab however I ordered a sandwich and Diet Coke (18 bucks ) LOL . I also almost always carry / pay with cash . So what would of happened if I didn't have a card with me ? Anyways all the other restaurants here at shoreline village are dog friendly so we won't be coming here again. read more

Decided to go out to celebrate an Anniversary. I have yet to experience really bad service or food in Shoreline Village- that is until today. Took the waiter a half an hour to bring my water. I decided to order the Fish and Chips even though I do not usually order fried foods often..I figure well it's a celebration day so Irish Pub...why not? The Fish and Chips were absolutely gross! Staff tries to be apologetic for the long wait, that's fine once maybe twice but 5 times??? So aggravating. The whole staff look like they hate their jobs and would rather stand around and socialize. Including the security guy sitting very comfortably in front when I asked politely if we wait to be seated and his response was " What does the sign say"? I turn around cause I had come from the Boardwalk entrance so the sign was behind me!! Can't believe he gets paid to do that. This place should be called Shennananeveragain! $60 wasted. I have been there for both breakfast and lunch. Both times not disappointed at all. Love their breakfasts and if you brave it, the Irish Breakfast is a fun cocktail.... Family owned and ran.. By far the worst service I've ever had. I have been a patron at this location several times, I like bringing friends here to have a drink listen to live music and enjoy the food they have. I came in on Sunday around 6 and the staff was drunk, I waited next to a dirty table for 15 minutes before one of my friends cleared it off for the staff. Then the birthday girl from he'll came by to take our order, inform us she was the only person working and that this restaurant doesn't have waiters only "caring bartenders who get to you when they have free time" this girl was so hammered not only was she slurring her words but she couldn't keep her eyes open! We placed 2 orders with her that were never delivered to us, when we asked her why it was taking so long she blatantly told us that she forgot and will probably forget again. She dropped of 4 drinks that were not what we ordered then brought half the table shots for some reason. She was "cleaning" tables with a rag covered in ketchup and God knows what else, until my friend pointed out the health hazard of her choice. Oh and the staff that was not working was all near by drinking!! One of the waiters even stuffed her face: mouth, nose, and ears with cigarettes! Disgusting service. The only angel at the bar was the young man who took over our table and handled being a server but we didn't have him for long. By the end of this experience we got double charged, the card on the tab got rung up even tho we asked to pay cash. One of the bus boys told me he would reverse the charge, so my table proceeded to pay cash ($200) we were trying to review the receipt but there was no manager to discuss why were were over charged. Being a group who works at a bar we paid cash and went on our way, hoping that management would reach out because not only is the charge still on the card left for tab but now the staff also has our cash!!! I would give them 0 stars of i could and I will not bring out of town guests back to this mismanaged hell hole. I hope the owner of this place reads my post because his staff was so impolite and unprofessional they should all be fired. read more

It's a great dive bar next to the Queen Mary. If the live band is too loud, there's a patio on the other side of the bar by the boats where it's quieter. The food here is good bar food. Their Irish Nachos are perfection. Seriously, them nachos are so yummy I don't know how to describe it. Nice bar on the water. We stopped here a couple times during the Long Beach Grand Prix. They had some of the best prices on drinks. They had some live music but no cover charge. I seriously used to love this bar and came here a lot but I've experienced the worst customer service yesterday from the "waiter " KAT she informed that the wait was going to be 2 hours and I understood. I politely asked her "are the other parties in line waiting the same time." she stated "no because they were closer " I advised her to explain and she walks always from our conversation with an attitude and didn't want to continue to inform me of the wait time nor give me information on the seating . She also lied and said we had to buy food in order to drink beer or alcoholic drinks which is not true per the manager Steven who I spoke with .
