Got very sick after I ate here :( My husband and I went there yesterday around 2:00 pm. We shared Fish and chips and Michael spicy chicken sandwich and drank iced tea. We sat outside and enjoyed the view, but about half an hour later I started to feel sick. We live 20 minutes away and I couldn't wait to get home where I spent all afternoon and evening hours in and out of the bathroom with diarrhea. Oh, it was an awful bad stomach pain. This is my 2nd bad review in about 5 years. I'm sorry for the business owner but I feel it is important for you to know. 1) wait times are a little ridiculous when you have open tables. Yesterday's wait time was about 40 min. 2) your host the female takes her job way to seriously. Wanted us to space ourselves like 12ft apart. I was asked to keep my mask on after being seated and wait until after she brought us water to remove my mask???? 8 months prego btw. Ummm what? 3) food is beyond greasy. Ordered the fried pickles, chicken sandwich, and fish and chips. Pickles had a pool of grease at the bottom. Chicken sandwich had no chicken and all breading, and my husband couldn't eat the fish due to the ungodly grease. 4)server seemed overwhelmed and therefore we never got silverware or napkins. Half way through our meal we flagged someone down for napkins. Once we got our meal which was about 35-40 min, we didn't see our server u til the end of our meal almost. First time at this establishment. Staff is super friendly and accommodating. Although, we had to tell them we wanted menus. Live music on a Saturday is a plus. The food was pretty good and the price was reasonable. However, the men and women share a bathroom not a single bathroom for all that's one person at a time, but an open area. That can probably get some people in a lot of trouble. But over all was a good place to grab something to eat, have some drinks and enjoy. read more

This place needs to be on Bar rescue. I asked 4 different employees if they had happy hour and no one knew. Finally our server comes to our table to take our order and I asked him about happy hour, he told me they do but he thinks it's at a later time. The bathroom is DISGUSTING! Smells like urine and was extremely dirty. Given the current state the world is in you would think they would keep the bathrooms clean. I have been coming here religiously every Friday night for the past 6 months. I enjoy this place and have recommended it to tons of international travelers. My one star goes for the fact that not once but twice we have been charged for drinks we did not have. Last night I argued with the girl that I only had 3 beers and my husband had 4. She charged us for 4 rounds. I insisted that I only had 3 drinks as we were keeping track due to the last time we were overcharged. She said the following "I'm the sober one here, you had 4 beers" I didn't think that was very nice as I definitely was not drunk after 3 beers. I love this place. The bouncer is chill and a friend of mine. The live music here is always great. The bartenders are really friendly too, especially Ashley! She's always so happy and it's contagious. This is a great place to hang out, jam out, and watch the sunset over the Queen Mary. Food is hit and miss. If it's good it's on, if it's a bad day in the kitchen it shows on the plate. My family and I were walking by the beach and decided to stop by this restaurant because we saw people eating their fish and chips and it looked so delicious. As we walked in, I went to see the hostess and they told me that we could just sit anywhere. We sat at the outside seating. Someone gave us the menu right away and took our drink orders. After a short while, our server came to our table and took our orders. My husband and I ordered the fish and chips, my son ordered the chicken nuggets, and my other son ordered the shepherds pie. I also ordered a bowl of clam chowder. Our order came after 15 minutes. The spoon that came with the shepherds pie was so dirty. I had to ask the waiter to exchange the spoon for us. The spoon that came with the soup was extremely dirty. There were traces of food from the last person who used it. I had to stand up and ask them for another spoon. We had to ask for napkins from our waiter because we did not have any on our table. As soon as I saw the dirty spoons, I was just so disgusted and lost my appetite. The food was fair. A big disapointment this place is as far as food goes. I ordered the corned beef and potatoes with eggs and a side of garlic fries. The fries are extremely dried tossed in chopped garlic. No seasoning either. The corned beef is a very small portion and its very bland. The only good part of my meal was the egg. But seriously who can messed up eggs.... Definitely not worth the price. My friend ordered the portabello mushroom burger and she said it was also dry. Very flavorless and stale bread. No sauce at all. The service is ok. Seems like they take care more of their regulars than others... I guess that's natural everywhere. The place is good if you're here to drink with lots of friends. We've been here a couple of times now - once during football season when they were really busy and once when the place was pretty much empty. Both times, service was good. On our most recent visit, we ordered a fish sandwich and fish and chips. The sandwich was good but average. The fish that came with the fish and chips was huge! And I was told that it was delicious. The fries (or chips) were cooked perfectly and just how we like them. The location of this place is right on the water in Shoreline Village...can't beat it. My buddy Eric and I walked in, no one greeted us, we found a seat and eventually our server came over. She NEVER smiled upon reaching the table and the ONE time she did smile was after we had ordered a couple beers and I asked her if she wanted my card to keep the tab open, she said, "Honey, I can run faster than you.". Wow. How offensive is that? I may be overweight, but at least I don't treat people like Sh!t. Overall, my server had a horrible attitude. Rolled her eyes when I asked for a list of their beers. We've found our new favorite Brunch place! We were searching for bottomless mimosas & came across this place. On Saturday, they offered $12 bottomless mimosas (plus $5 Bloody Mary's if champs is not your thing) until 1pm with a food order. We were worried about the food due to other Yelp reviews but the breakfast menu (breakfast is until noon) has tons of yummy offerings PLUS everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The service was amazing! Our server, Scott, did a great job. He kept our mimosas flowing & was supper nice, friendly, and knowledgeable. The front patio had fans, so even though it was such a hot day, we remained cool outdoors. Dogs are permitted on the patio & if you love doggies, there will be an amazing amount of cute dogs hanging around being adorable. If dogs aren't your thing (how is that even possible?!), Shenanigans has a list of "dog rules" and insists on well-behaved pups. All the dogs that were there, were very sweet & stayed close to their owners without bothering any other guests. This place is a gem & a great hangout for Saturday brunch. read more

I came here for brunch on January 31, 2016. I was joined by at least twenty other people. They continued to accommodate the party as it grew and grew, in honor of one of my good friends who had been having a tough time lately. We all had the bottomless mimosas, which were very good and very strong. We all ordered breakfast as well. I had the corned beef hash and eggs and we ordered the potato pancakes with the two dipping sauces (one was apple sauce, and I think the other sour cream?) It was a seemingly strange mix, but it was so good! The service was polite, prompt, and efficient, even with the growing number of our party. We had been there for two hours and were finishing breakfast and the mimosas had really started to set in. At noon, I had the pleasure of watching as my best friend's boyfriend proposed to her on the dock outside the back of the restaurant! It was a beautiful scene of which I have many pictures. I found out later the restaurant had been given notice a week before so that they knew. They were very helpful and very excited. Because it was her dream to elope, the restaurant did not kick us out when we took the bathroom hostage to get her ready for her wedding which was in less than an hour! We are periodically required to come here for a variety of reasons. Without fail, the food arrives and it always looks utterly disgusting. Today they served the following items: Chicken wings - these were sort of an odd, pale red color. Taste was alright. Corned Beef Sliders - uninspired. Canned corned beef on pre-packaged mini slider buns. Waffle Fries "Irish Style" - served with beans and chili and jalepenos?! That, combined with the smell of dead fish, and flies buzzing around the door to the kitchen, means that I will never again take a bite of food from here. read more

My boyfriend and I are from out of town, and we were visiting Long Beach. We wanted to eat at a local place and stopped here because we were getting a bit hangry. It was seat yourself seating, which is fine but can be tricky sometimes because the waitstaff doesn't always see you. Our waitress did see us sit down and basically slapped down the menus in front of us before walking away. She came back a few minutes later to take our drink order, and she took a bit to come back with those. Not once during the meal did she ask if we wanted refills. After our drink order, she walked away for a few minutes and then came again to take our food order. We waited quite a bit of time to get our food delivered to us by a different person (who I would guess is the cook). It took forever for the waitress to take the bill even though she delivered it before we were even done eating. She was kind of unfriendly and inattentive throughout the meal. The food was mediocre especially for the price. My boyfriend had the grilled cheese and it was just okay; not the worst or the best. I had the chicken sandwich which was also okay and had too much avocado in my opinion. We both unfortunately would not recommend this restaurant to visitors due to this experience. read more

So I read the other reviews and there are a few things I would like to contradict: Firstly, the service has been nothing but wonderful for me. I work in bar/restaurant industry and I was impressed by how catered to I was. Hasn't mattered what day or what time or who was working, the employees were so on it I nearly felt pampered. My first time in I was going to go sit at the bar and watch a game and have a beer, the place was PACKED and I hadn't even barely got through the door before one girl asked me if I needed anything. I told her I was headed to the bar and she asked what I wanted to drink so that she could get my order in right away while I scootched my way up there. Only took another thirty seconds to find myself a seat and I had barely sat down before boom my beer was placed in front of me. And the girl, despite busyness, said hi and asked how my day had gone and checked in to make sure I was pleased with my beer. All smiles. I think customer connection is SO IMPORTANT and I can not stress enough how just that little interaction got my whole experience off on a wonderful foot. And it wasn't just that time, it's been every time. Second, Scott W. needs to take off his Superman shirt because the only thing super about him is his dickishness. I'm sorry, I've tried Gallagher's a few times, and if I never ever go back I think my quality of life will only be better. As much as he wants to stress it, they aren't some authentic Irish bar either. Maybe Scott hasn't noticed, but there is an "Irish Pub" on pretty much EVERY SINGLE block in Long beach, and none of them are going to be the slice of Ireland he seems to demand. I have personally never been to Ireland, so I'm not on a hunt to reconnect with it, but I value experience. Gallagher's in particular, not only were the servers slow and unhelpful but the customers were obnoxious too. And the location isn't anywhere near as enjoyable. Shenanigans is new and building, but I think they are off to a wonderful start, reasonably priced, and the food is delicious. Also as far as crowd goes, I've mostly seen older Long Beachers, boat owners, Yacht Club fellas, and only the occasional tourist. A well-rounded crowd for a nice time! I go to Shenanigans at least a couple times a week. Sometimes with friends, sometimes with coworkers, sometimes with my dogs (who are treated like ROYALTY), and sometimes alone. Sometimes I'm there to watch a game, or sketch, or just zone out with a coffee and beer and watch the boats and the sunset. The owners always come say hi and check in, which I absolutely LOVE. And the bartenders? I think ONCE I've specified how I like certain things and certain drinks specific ways, and I haven't had to say it again because they remembered. Also, every time I go I meet someone new sitting at the bar or on the patio and end up with an evening of lovely conversation. And the music? LOVE IT. So in short, I love this place in every aspect. Being in the industry I am exceedingly pleased to see such a new business start off like this, and I can't wait to watch them grow. read more
